We had a great experience with this type of pass. We paid another 900 yen can ride on a limited rapid train Laview from Ikebukuro to Chichibu. It was a very comfortable ride.★

It's a bit tricky to reopen the QR code every time before entering the gate, and it's not so convenient to wait for it to refresh and load back out! Also if you don't actually go up and down a few times, you may not have to buy a day ticket
