Don't miss the chance to meet and learn about Maiko or Geiko during your visit to Kyoto.
This is the most popular program in our contents because you can see Maiko or Geiko and also enjoy tea ceremony at the same time.
What makes Maiko and Geiko so special is their dedication to a traditional lifestyle that continues even today.
From their exquisite kimono and elegant hairstyles to their unique daily routines, Maiko and Geiko represent a living tradition.
Though samurai culture has faded, Maiko and Geiko culture still thrives.
※We invite either Maiko or Geiko depending on the day. Please kindly understand that we cannot confirm in advance who will be attending on your participation date.
You'll enjoy:
- Tea ceremony with Maiko or Geiko
Maiko will show you how to make matcha tea and tell you how to do. Then you will make your own tea by yourself.
- Q&A Session
This is a highlight of the program. You won't just see a Maiko or Geiko —you'll get to know her world.
Ask questions directly and gain insight into her daily life.
You'll feel as if you've stepped into a hidden world.
- Photo Opportunity
Take a commemorative photo right beside Maiko or Geiko.
As a special gift, she'll present you with a lucky charm called a Senjyafuda.
- Dance Performance
Enjoy two traditional dances that express the beauty of Japan's seasons, love stories, or everyday life. The elegance of each movement will inspire you.
- Interactive Game with Maiko or Geiko
Maiko and Geiko often play simple but exciting games with guests as part of their hospitality.
Volunteers are welcome to join, but watching is just as fun!
Clap and cheer to support the players - you'll feel like part of one joyful team.
They are professionals… can anyone beat them ?
Please note that the venue is not an "ochaya" or a traditional Japanese house. It is located in a building, but the place offers a relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff. No special preparation is required, and you are welcome to join without any concerns.
We will invite Maiko or Geiko, however the contents of the experience are same.
This might be held with people who are having lunch or dinner.
