Taipei 101

Located in a prime location in Taipei, Taipei 101 was primarily planned by Taipei Financial Center Corporation, a consortium of fourteen companies, in collaboration with a professional team. Designed by renowned architect C.Y. Lee, the project transcends the concept of a single volume, using the auspicious number "eight" (a homophone for "prosperity") as a design unit. Each eight-story building forms a structural unit, interconnected and stacked to form the overall structure. This creates a rhythmic and dynamic aesthetic, pioneering a new style for international skyscrapers. Ultra-high-speed elevators: Taipei 101 Observatory is equipped with two ultra-high-speed elevators, with an ascent speed of up to 1010 meters per minute. It only takes 37 seconds to go from the 5th floor to the 89th floor observation deck. These two elevators are also equipped with constant pressure devices in the car, dampers, and high-temperature resistant ceramic braking systems, making them intelligent high-speed elevators that integrate high technology. The 89th-floor indoor observation deck, illuminated by dazzling lights at night, creates a dreamlike and immersive experience through its glass-enclosed landscape. Not only does it offer panoramic views of the city skyline, but it also features unique, private photo windows, ensuring every moment becomes a classic shot! Wind Damping Sphere: The full official name of the Taipei 101 wind damping sphere is the Tuned Mass Damper (TMD). It is a passive damping system custom-designed to meet the needs of this building, located centrally on floors 87-92. Its main purpose is to reduce the building's swaying during strong winds, minimizing discomfort for those working in the building. Unlike traditional concealed damping systems, the Taipei 101 wind damping sphere's design balances functionality and aesthetics, allowing a clear view of the entire damping system's operation from the observation deck. The multi-section exterior design naturally mitigates the wind field effect on the ground caused by airflow from high-rise buildings, and ensures pedestrian safety and comfort through the separation of green planting areas in the architectural design. Infinite Sky: Utilizing a unique mirroring principle, the interplay of reflections and rotations between the atrium and floor creates a visual experience of boundless space and limitless expanse, making visitors feel as if they are in a kaleidoscope world. Helpful Reminder: Female visitors wearing short skirts should be aware of the reflection issues on the mirrored floor. Rainbow Neon Zone: The night view from above, combined with neon lights, is a popular spot for taking photos and shouldn't be missed!Taipei · 2.3 km from downtown

The Raohe Street Tourist Night Market is located in Taipei's Songshan District, adjacent to the Songshan Ciyou Temple and just 600 meters from Songshan Station. On weekends and holidays, the market is bustling with crowds, many of them tourists drawn by its fame. The market boasts over 400 stalls, offering everything from tofu pudding and oyster noodles to herbal stewed pork ribs and Turkish ice cream. You're guaranteed to have an unforgettable experience. The market is particularly famous for its Fuzhou Shizu Pepper Pancakes, which often have lines of at least 15 minutes to get a bite, whether on weekdays or weekends. Another standout stall is "Oyster Noodles Dongfahao." A closer look reveals plump, fresh oysters and a lightly charred aroma. Besides noodles, meat soup and oily rice are also signature dishes. Liberty Square is an open square within the Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall complex. The archway standing by the street is the square's iconic structure, and passing through it leads to a straight, wide ceremonial avenue flanked by neat hedges, with the white-walled, blue-tiled Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall visible at the end. Standing in the middle of the avenue and looking back, you can capture both the archway and the memorial hall in one frame. The theater and concert hall are symmetrically located on both sides of the square. Both buildings feature a palace-style design with yellow tiles and red columns, with roofs designed in the hip roof and hip-and-gable roof styles, respectively. The main square between the two halls is also a common space for arts and cultural activities. The complex is surrounded by Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Park, interspersed with lawns, tree-lined paths, and ponds. In the early morning, you can see locals exercising here, and the open space has a vibrant, lived-in feel. As the lights come on in the evening, the outlines of the archway and the eaves of the two halls become more distinct against the night sky, creating a unique night view.Taipei · 2.7 km from downtown

We went to Taiwan during the New Year...We took the cable car to and from Maokong Station to visit tourist attractions. It was the cherry blossom season. The cherry blossoms were super beautiful and it was a great place for family travel. We will go there again next time we have the chance. The air quality is fresh and the scenery is beautiful. We have been to Taiwan many times and still can't get enough... Looking forward to the next trip

The Taipei Arena is not only the baseball stadium in Taipei City, but almost all concerts in Taipei are held here. The Taipei Arena is located in Xinyi District, Taipei City. It is very convenient whether you drive or take public transportation! There is no shortage of food, drink and entertainment here. In addition to the shopping mall, in 2024, Far East SOGO Group has introduced restaurants from world-renowned brands that are open 24 hours a day, providing a new choice for friends who like late-night snacks. The food court on the second underground floor is especially popular among young people.

Raohe Night Market is a popular and more manageable alternative to larger night markets like Shilin. It’s famous for its vibrant atmosphere, delicious street food (especially the pepper pork buns), and cultural setting near Ciyou Temple. Visitors praise its variety, reasonable prices, and lively vibe, though it can get crowded on weekends. Overall, it’s a must-visit spot for food lovers and travelers wanting an authentic local experience.

Close to the hotel, within walking distance. I went there several years ago, before the name change. Now, except for the building, the things inside are completely different. There are some different things on each floor. Especially the first floor, it has completely changed. The original things are only given to a small corner, and the rest of the green is extremely rich. If you want to know the cause and development of the green tide, you can go and see it. In addition: the National Theater next to it is definitely worth a visit. There are many cultural and creative things, especially a restaurant called Chun Shui Tang, which is definitely worth a try.
