I got stuck in Bogata for the day thanks to Avianca messing up my flights. So I decided to make the most of it and booked a tour to explore Bogata. If I recall correctly my guides name was Cristian. He arrived promptly at 10 wiry a taxi that dropped us off at the centre. He is quite the historian, going into details with the various historically occurrences, their significance and impact on the city, country, tribes etc. I loved the murals, graffiti art encountered during the walk, the fruit tasting, chance to do a bit of souvenir shopping. It was just enough to convince me to perhaps visit again to explore more of Bogata. Well spent few hours!

Reviews: Monserrate Tour in Bogotá Including Tickets
Guest User2026-10-03
We really enjoyed our tour of Monserrate with Luis and would highly recommend him. Having a guide made the entire experience much easier, especially because the ticket lines can be long and a little confusing. What really made the tour special, though, was Luis’s knowledge of Bogotá. He didn’t just explain the history of Monserrate—he gave us a much broader understanding of the city itself. From the top of Monserrate, with all of Bogotá sprawled out below us, we had the perfect backdrop as he explained the city’s history, neighborhoods, and development. It was a great experience and gave us a much better appreciation of Bogotá. If you are visiting Monserrate, we definitely recommend doing it with a knowledgeable guide like Luis.

Reviews: Bogota: Monserrate Entry Ticket

Great to skip the wait of the ticket office. We received out tickets just minutes from booking. Heads up the line to come back down is a lot longer, so expect to wait around an hour or more depending how busy it is, or opt to find a fast pass ticket.
