We begin early, leaving the beautiful city of Sydney behind as we head west. Around 40 minutes later we arrive at our first stop: Featherdale Sydney Wildlife Park. This is the home to the largest collection of Australian native animals in the world, with over 2,000 animals on site.
Featherdale is renowned for its close-up wildlife encounters. Here, you can hand-feed friendly Kangaroos, take a professional photo with a cute and loveable Koala, snap a selfie with the “happiest animal on earth” the Quokka and meet Wombats, Tasmanian Devils and more. You'll also see the vibrant colours of Australia's native birdlife, including Emus, Cassowaries, and laughing Kookaburras. For those excited to explore Australia's wilder side, some of the country's most famously “scary” creatures are also on display including Dingoes, Crocodiles, Snakes, and Spiders.
