Start your adventure by being picked up from your accommodation in Moab. Make your way in an air-conditioned vehicle across the Green River Desert to the Maze District of Canyonlands National Park. Experience Utah's epic landscapes as you travel to Horseshoe Canyon.
Once at Horse Shoe Canyon, you'll explore the heart of Robbers Roost Country. This remote wilderness is where the infamous bank robber Butch Cassidy learned to rustle cattle. The area was also a favorite hide-out among the outlaws of the old west, including the Wild Bunch. See the canyon's striking rock formations.
Relax and enjoy a picnic lunch at the western rim of Horseshoe Canyon. Afterward, take a 7-mile hike down into the canyon. See the Great Gallery and marvel at the paintings which adorn the sides of the canyon. These life-size paintings of human figures were created between 400 AD and 1100 AD by the Desert Archaic culture, a nomadic group of hunter-gatherers. After admiring the centuries-old paintings, climb back up to your vehicle and return to Moab.
