Reviews: Genting Highlands & Batu Caves One Day Tour with Guide option and Cable Car Ride

This was a purely introductory tour; if you want to ride the rides, you'll definitely need more time. The park is located high up (level 5), so you'll need a lot of time for the cunifiler, and then you have to take the escalators down to the Chinese Temple (level 3). The outlet (level 2) isn't very large, but it will still take time. It was cloudy, so we couldn't admire the beauty of the mountains. Plan on more time for the temple if you want to go up there; there's no elevator. On the same level, you have to walk a bit, and there's a Buddha statue. I really enjoyed the trip. On the way, we stopped at the Batu Caves, where there's a Hindu temple. It was hot going up, but it's worth seeing once. The stairs smelled strongly (probably from monkey droppings), and I felt a bit nauseous, and the altitude made me dizzy. It's nice that the stairs aren't all uphill, with some rest areas. I didn't count the steps; the guide said there were 272. The toilet downstairs costs 0.50 rubles in cash. Those with cards were a bit taken aback. I personally paid for a tourist's toilet.

Great day trip made really great by our guide and driver Raj. Raj provided a great history and information on the places we visited in a knowledgeable, friendly and humorous way. Batu caves was the stand-out for us. Thanks Raj, a real highlight of our trip so far.

A great, inexpensive way to see Kuala Lumpur and many of its sights. The driver was very personable, although I wouldn't call him a tour guide. The tour starts at a very convenient location, 200 meters from the monorail station. A big advantage compared to similar tours is that you can buy a single ticket! Most only sell to couples. There was always plenty of time to see and take photos along the way, the pace was very comfortable, and everything was well planned. Highly recommended!

Batu Caves, located in the northern suburbs of Kuala Lumpur, is a Hindu temple built inside a limestone cave. A giant gilded statue of Hindu war god stands at the entrance. Reaching the temple requires climbing 272 colorful steps, and one must constantly be wary of numerous monkeys!
