▲ Karlovy Vary Departing at 8 a.m., we drove less than 200 km from Germany to reach Karlovy Vary in western Czech Republic, a renowned spa town. Walking along the Teplá River, the air carried a faint sulfur scent. Local elderly women held specially designed flat cups, filling them with warm mineral water from the colonnade taps and sipping slowly. This scene has been repeating daily in the town for nearly seven centuries!

▲ In 1358, this town was established after Holy Roman Emperor Charles IV accidentally discovered the healing properties of its hot springs. Legend has it that while hunting, the king wounded a deer, which then jumped into the hot spring and miraculously healed its injury. From then on, this valley was named "Karlovy Vary," meaning "Charles' Spa"!

▲ The architectural beauty of Karlovy Vary is also prominently showcased in its spa colonnades. The iconic Market Colonnade (MarketColonnade, Figure 2): The entire colonnade features a white openwork structure. We recommend visiting [Sadova Kolonada] to get a cup of thermal spring water. The cups are local specialties that can be collected, with traditional porcelain cups designed with hollow handles to prevent burns. Prices range between 140-300 CZK~~ and they're available at almost every small shop!

▲ The colonnade in the town is a large Renaissance-style arcade featuring 5 hot springs and a symphony performance space. The gentle afternoon sunlight casts on the pillars, creating a timeless atmosphere! Hot Spring Colonnade: With modern design, it's famous for its 14-meter fountain height and 72°C water temperature, closing daily at 6 PM. Sunbathing by the riverside restaurant is super chill~

▲ Guide to Mariánské Lázně Mariánské Lázně is a famous spa resort in the Czech Republic, renowned for its unique "drinking springs." Quieter than Karlovy Vary, it's an ideal destination for relaxation and experiencing classic European charm.

▲ The unique experience in Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně) is "drinking" the hot springs rather than "soaking" in them. The town is dotted with hot spring fountains of various styles, among which the famous Colonnade (Sloupová lázeň) with 72 columns is particularly spectacular. How to drink: By these fountains, you'll find many free taps. Each spring has different water temperature, mineral composition, and taste - some even have a metallic or salty flavor. Locals and visitors drink directly from the taps, as the cold water is said to aid digestion while the warm water reduces stomach acid. Special prop: You can purchase a double-spouted cup in town, allowing you to taste water from different springs simultaneously and enjoy the fun of "magic potions".

▲ Golf Course: This place boasts top-tier golf courses in Europe, making it a paradise for golf enthusiasts.

▲ Horse Carriage Sightseeing: Take a carriage ride through the town's streets and tree-lined avenues to admire the elegant scenery of this classical town from a unique perspective.

▲ Strolling Through a Fairy-Tale Town: Marienbad is a quintessential Baroque-style town, with streets lined with colorful hotels and sanatoriums, exuding a fairy-tale charm. The town is quiet and sparsely populated, making it perfect for leisurely walks and soaking in the serene atmosphere surrounded by forests.

▲ Chopin's Birthplace: A must-visit for music lovers, the town still preserves Chopin's former residence, where you can experience the ambiance of the musician's life back in the day.
