Reviews: Pure sightseeing with no shopping | Xiamen Gulangyu Island + Shuzhuang Garden + Sunlight Rock Day Trip including pick-up and drop-off + ferry tickets
Guest User2026-10-05
Gulangyu is a must visit when going to Xiamen. Brown, our guide, was fantastic with a lot of knowledge of Xiamen and China. One downside of the tour is that due to the holiday we could not start at the originally scheduled time because ferry tickets were sold out. We were able to complete the majority or the tour given the shorter duration. My advice is to spend more time on the island getting lost in the old town, looking at the incredible architecture as the buildings and history is impressive and interesting.

They contacted us in advance, arranged a time, and a comfortable car arrived in the morning to take us to the ferry. Everything went perfectly.

Reviews: Kulangsu in-depth guided 1-day tour | Sunlight Rock + Haoyue Park + travel photo shoot 1 hour + round-trip boat ticket

Our tour guide arrived promptly at 9:00 AM. It was during the May Day holiday rush, so to avoid the long queues at the Dongdu Wharf, we took a taxi from Xiamen Island to Songyu Wharf to board the ferry to Gulangyu Island. The weather was hot and there were many tourists, but our guide, Xiao Zhu, was incredibly patient. She provided detailed explanations of the historical and cultural sites, and the itinerary was well-planned and efficient. We walked without rushing, and even had time for afternoon tea. Nice and friendly. On the return trip, she also arranged for us to get back to our hotel. Especially since we were tourists from Malaysia and unfamiliar with the routes, she stayed until we boarded our ride-hailing car before leaving. Truly excellent service! 👍👍👍👍👍 We are also grateful to this platform for making our trips back to our homeland so convenient and worry-free for overseas Chinese like us. It's fantastic! 👍👍👍👍👍 We will frequently travel to China independently and will arrange our trips through this platform.

Reviews: Kulangsu private tour 1-day tour [Shuzhuang Garden + VIP afternoon tea in Republic of China style + 1-hour travel photo shoot]

Ctrip's travel products are generally trustworthy. Our tour guide, Xiao Zhu, was very enthusiastic. After our day trip to Gulangyu Island, at our request, he took us to Zhongshan Road Pedestrian Street and the Eighth Market, and even kindly reminded us where to eat and where to try local snacks. Most importantly, I must commend him; my parents are both over 70 years old, and after the tour ended, Xiao Zhu proactively refunded their entrance fees to the island. Although it wasn't a large sum, his gesture was truly admirable!
