The Brasilia Cathedral (Catedral Metropolitana) is a relatively new modernist church with a bizarre shape. The main body of the church is underground, and the "roof" of the church is above the ground. It is composed of dozens of parabolic columns tied together. From a distance, it looks like a "crown" made of bird feathers by Brazilian Indian chiefs. It is a sacred place.
