Reviews: Brescia: the unexpected. History, local stories and a drink
Guest User2026-09-21
We spent a wonderful morning with Chiara. The tour was beyond our expectations. Chiara was a fantastic guide mixing knowledge of the history of Brescia with cultural insights and great places to go for local food and drinks. On top of that she was wonderful company. We enjoyed it so much! It is hard to believe Brescia is not No.1 on the tourist map. The quality of the Roman ruins is beyond belief. The Santa Giulia Museum is unbelievable and we were the only people at the Capitolium! Incredible that these ruins exist and no crowds are around. Brescia is full of incredible ancient sites and buildings that you walk by without even realising how significant they are. That’s why Chiara was so brilliant. She points out these gems as you walk by. This is beside the outstanding restaurants and bars that are so prevalent throughout the old part of the city. Brescia is definitely the hidden gem of Italy. I will certainly be spreading the word when I get back to Australia!!

Ciara was a wonderful hostess. We had such a lovely afternoon at Mirabella and would highly recommend this tour to any wine lovers or those looking to get an introduction into the sparkling wine world.

It was a little rushed but then we hadn’t had breakfast before we left so that was part of the problem. It was a relaxing day if you’re on a longer trip.
