Reviews: Bruges and Ghent - Belgium's Fairytale Cities - from Brussels
Guest User2025-07-18
Certainly! Here’s a one-paragraph review: I recently joined a guided tour of Bruges and Ghent and had a great experience. The tour guide was knowledgeable and engaging, sharing fascinating insights into the history, architecture, and culture of both cities. Highlights included visits to the Markt and canals in Bruges and to Gravensteen Castle and St. Bavo’s Cathedral in Ghent, with plenty of interesting stories and recommendations for local food along the way. The tour was well-paced and made exploring both cities easy and enjoyable. I highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to get the most out of their visit to Bruges and Ghent.

Informative and interesting tour through the center of Bruges. Our guide provided a history of Bruges through the ages and pointed out various landmarks, including unique period homes, the world’s oldest stock exchange, and various churches. Highly recommend - just bring flat shoes as most of the streets are made if cobblestone!

The tour guide was humorous and knowledgeable, sharing a lot about the history of Belgian chocolate! We sampled many different kinds of chocolate during the tour, and even had hot chocolate!

The main reason I visited Bruges was because the scenery was so beautiful and photogenic, and the weather was exceptionally good. However, a day trip was a bit rushed, especially considering the two hours spent exploring Ghent. I felt it would be better to stay overnight and savor the beauty of Bruges at a more leisurely pace.
