This was a Christmas activity for our family of 5 as we celebrated in Tromso. It is a must-do experience for anyone visiting to enjoy this and learn about the Sami culture. It is a 45-minute journey from Tromso with an amazing view of the snow mountains. You are free to feed and take pictures with the reindeer for around the hour. The main hall is warm and has bread, tea, and hot chocolate. Lunch was bidos (reindeer stew) or vegetarian. Then, a sharing was done by John who is from northern Sami where he shared about customs, reindeers, gakti, etc. Weather is a huge factor in these trips and the tour bus could not return to us for pickup - with an hour’s delay, the crew was very apologetic and hardworking, arranging alternative transport on two smaller Mercedes vans. This experience was memorable and I highly recommend it for the exposure with lovely people!

It's a really fun experience! A bus takes you there and back, and then you get an introduction to Sami culture, reindeer feeding, reindeer sledding, and other activities. It's very interesting!

Yes, it's expensive, but a fantastic full-day excursion. A 1.5-hour drive through the snowy landscape, and at the end of a beautiful valley, the camp. Superbly organized, we put on our thermal clothes and off we went with the huskies into the breathtaking solitude. The dogs are incredibly energetic and practically unstoppable. The sled driver really has to work hard. A fantastic ride. At the end, we had a delicious stew and bread, and then we were rewarded with the Northern Lights. A wonderful day and a real highlight. Highly recommended! 👍
