▲ The Shirakawa-go Light-up is a magical winter spectacle in Japan, open to visitors on only four designated dates each year (January 12, 18, 25 and February 1 in 2026). During these four short nights, visitors from around the world flock here, making admission tickets and spots highly sought after.

▲ Shirakawa-go was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995 as "an outstanding example of a traditional human settlement that is representative of a significant stage in human history through its architectural forms, accumulated building techniques, or remarkable landscapes." The gassho-zukuri farmhouses are concentrated in the Ogimachi area at the northern center of the village. Through surrounding cultural experience facilities and historical museums, visitors can glimpse the traditional wisdom of living in harmony with nature.
