▴The USS Missouri is world famous for this. The USS Missouri was the fourth Iowa-class battleship built by the U.S. Navy. Its sister ships include USS Iowa, USS New Jersey and USS Wisconsin. Although the USS Missouri was numbered BB-63 and was slightly larger than the USS Wisconsin, she was built later by the United States. This legendary battleship participated in countless wars, including the World War, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and Persian Gulf War, no damage at all. ▴Now, the USS Missouri serves as a museum ship, moored next to Ford Island in Pearl Harbor for tourists from all over the world.Honolulu · 15 km from Ahuimanu

Pearl Harbor

4.8/5
724 reviews
Pearl Harbor is located on the southern coast of Oahu, Hawaii, west of downtown Honolulu. It is a natural deep-water harbor extending inland, surrounded by land on three sides with only the southern entrance facing the sea. On the morning of December 7, 1941, the Japanese naval air force launched a surprise attack on the U.S. Pacific Fleet stationed here. The battleship USS Arizona sank in less than ten minutes after being hit, with over a thousand officers and crew perishing aboard, marking America's full entry into World War II. Today, the harbor area has been designated as a historical attraction, comprising four venues: the USS Arizona Memorial, the Battleship Missouri Memorial, the submarine museum, and the Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum. A full tour typically takes most of a day. Visits usually begin at the visitor center of the Pearl Harbor National Memorial: two exhibit halls display artifacts, photos, and footage depicting the ships, aircraft, and casualties on both sides before and after the attack. After watching the documentary, visitors take a shuttle boat to the white memorial spanning the sunken wreckage of the USS Arizona in the middle of the harbor. The bridge-shaped structure does not touch the ship's remains. Its 21 openings symbolize the 21-gun salute honoring the fallen. Through floor openings, visitors can view the rusted hull beneath the water, where oil droplets—known as "black tears"—still seep to the surface. The memorial hall at the far end bears the names of the thousand-plus crew members who went down with the ship, and the U.S. flag on the sunken mast is raised daily. This is a resting place for sailors, and visitors are expected to maintain solemn silence throughout the tour. While the USS Arizona witnessed the beginning of the Pacific War, the Battleship Missouri on Ford Island marked its end—Japan signed its surrender on its deck on September 2, 1945. Visitors can explore the deck, cabins, and bridge, with views of the white memorial across the water. The Pearl Harbor Aviation Museum, housed in the original hangars attacked that day, still bears visible bullet holes on its walls. The island also features memorials for the USS Oklahoma and USS Utah. Access to Ford Island requires a shuttle transfer from the visitor center. The Bowfin submarine, docked nearby, conducted multiple wartime patrols; visitors can step inside to experience life in a submariner's quarters. Practical tip: Security is strict, and regular backpacks are not allowed, so travel light.Honolulu · 18 km from Ahuimanu

The USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor was inaugurated in 1980 and sits directly above but not touching the wreck of the USS Arizona that was sunk in the attack on Pearl Harbor. The exhibition hall is about half the size of a basketball court. There is a 1:96 restoration model of the USS Arizona at the entrance and the remains and memorial model of the USS Arizona underwater. The exhibition room also displays precious items left by the USS Arizona, such as the frigates from the USS Arizona, the uniforms and trophies of the USS Arizona Sailors' American football team, etc., which were salvaged after the USS Arizona sank. There was also a character introduction session during the visit. The two characters introduced were Admiral Isaac C Kidd, the captain of the USS Arizona, and Paxton C. Kidd, a sailor at the time. Carter (Paxton Carter). They were all generals and sailors who died aboard the USS Arizona on the day of Pearl Harbor. The ruins of the shipwreck are still lying quietly in their original position, and there are still docks where other warships once docked on both sides of it. Each dock is marked with the name of the ship that docked at that time and the US Navy number. Visible Nevada (BB36), Westerle (AR4), Tennessee (BB43) and so on. The site memorial was built in the form of a command bridge across the sea from the middle of the wreck. The memorial is divided into three parts, the entrance, the shipwreck exhibition hall and the Memorial to the fallen. The entire memorial is a white building, with dignified writing above the gate at the entrance: USSARIZONAMEMORIAL is located in the hall on the back side, which is a monument to the fallen soldiers.Honolulu · 13.5 km from Ahuimanu

Diamond Head State Monumentis located on the east side of Honolulu, Oahu, Hawaii, United States. It is an ancient volcanic cone formed by a volcanic eruption hundreds of thousands of years ago, attracting many visitors with its unique silhouette and magnificent views. The peak stands at an elevation of approx. 200 m and is located right next to the beach. Looking up from the coastline, one can clearly see its gently undulating ridges, which, together with the blue ocean and urban landscape, form a classic view of Honolulu. Upon entering the crater, one can see a huge bowl-shaped terrain surrounded by volcanic rock walls, where the parking lot and hiking trail entrance are located. It retains the natural landforms formed after the volcanic eruption while also reflecting traces of human use and modification of the mountain space. The initial section of the hiking trail is relatively gentle and is a well-paved concrete path with tropical plants growing on both sides, allowing visitors to enjoy the mountain vegetation and surrounding scenery during a relaxing walk.Honolulu · 20.1 km from Ahuimanu

Located in the state park on southeastern Oahu Island, Gale Gutter is a well-known local viewing platform. It is located in the crack of the mountain, and the strong wind from the northeast can reach a dozen strengths. When the wind is strong, standing on one foot will feel blown, but at this time, the place 2 meters away is the wind and the sun, and the sky is different. There is also an introduction board introducing the Dafengkou Observation Deck on the viewing platform. In addition to viewing the scenery, you can also learn about some local history here. There are also prominent warning signs here, reminding tourists to be alert to falling rocks when visiting. The weather here changes rapidly, it may be windy in the morning, sunny in the afternoon, or a heavy rain will soak you all over. So it is recommended to bring a light jacket when heading here.Honolulu · 9.4 km from Ahuimanu

Located in the verdant valley of the Kolaw Mountains, the Valley of the Temples is the resting place of many Hawaiians. The Byodo-In Japanese Buddhist Temple is the main attraction of the Valley of the Temples. Byodo-In translates as "Byodo-In". The Buddhist temple was built in 1968, mainly to commemorate the centenary of the first Japanese immigrants to Hawaii on the island. The style of the temple is to imitate the Buddhist temple in Kyoto Prefecture, Japan. The entire Buddhist temple has no nails from top to bottom, and the design is perfect. From the wavy design of the gravel to the small bridge above the fish pond, it reflects the designer's intentions.Ahuimanu · 1.3 km from downtown

We had a great time at the ranch. Our guide was amazing! Arrived just in time for our tour, be sure to go to the ticket counter before lining up for your timed tour. Our guide explained well the ins and outs of the ranch, not just the movies shot there but the history and work being done beyond the big screen. Highly recommended.

As a highly recommended attraction for military fans and history lovers, the Missouri itself is a witness to the surrender of Japan and the end of World War II, and its historical significance is worth a visit. The maintenance of the warship itself can be seen to be very careful, and there are many open areas. It is highly recommended to visit. Military fans can visit the Aviation Museum and the Submarine Museum. There is a large hangar behind the Aviation Museum. Don't forget to visit it. The Arizona Memorial requires a ferry, and you must check in on the spot, but it is very close to the Missouri, which is a bit unnecessary.

Japan killed 2,403 Americans during the Pearl Harbor attack and 35,000,000 Chinese during the world war 2. Seeing the USS Arizona Memorial and crying Chinese baby lost parents is hard. The site kept and explained the history well. I highly recommend everyone who like learning about history and love peace to visit. I feel this is the most important site to visit in Honolulu. 珍珠港

Pure Energy & Tropical Beauty – Waikiki Beach, Oʻahu 🌊🌴 (10/10)Yes, Waikiki Beach is crowded. Very crowded. But here’s the thing—it’s crowded for a reason. Because it might just be the best beach on the entire island.Let’s start with the water. The color is that unreal shade of turquoise you only see in postcards. The waves are gentle enough for beginners but fun enough to surf, swim, or just play in. Whether you want to snorkel, ride a longboard, or simply float on your back and stare at the sky, Waikiki delivers. And the view? Diamond Head rising in the background is absolutely iconic. You can lie on the warm sand, soak up the sun, and feel like you’re in a movie. The whole atmosphere is lively, energetic, and full of aloha spirit. Families, couples, solo travelers—everyone is smiling.Yes, you’ll share the space with lots of people. But somehow that energy adds to the magic. It’s not a quiet hidden cove—it’s a vibrant, joyful celebration of beach life.Final verdict: 10/10. If you want solitude, look elsewhere. But if you want the most fun, most beautiful, most alive beach experience on Oʻahu? Waikiki is it. Don't miss it. 🏄‍♂️☀️🌊

Every shot is a beautiful sight, very pleasing to the eye. The largest island in Hawaii is Oahu, the most prosperous and youthful, known as a surfer's paradise. Pearl Harbor is the beautiful pain of this island.

The Hohlum Lucia Botanical Garden is very large and transportation is relatively inconvenient. It is best to drive here. If you take a bus, you will need to walk a long mountain road, but the scenery is very beautiful and it is worth the trip.

My legs ached from climbing Diamond Head; the steps wound and twisted, and I had to rest several times. At the top, the wind was so strong I could barely stand. Oahu stretched out below, the sea a dazzling blue. An old lady was holding a selfie stick, her hair whipping across her face in the wind. The radar station, a dilapidated tin building, was badly rusted; someone was leaning against the wall, catching their breath. On the way down, my knees were weak. I encountered an elderly couple still climbing, panting, saying they were almost there. Back in the parking lot, I filled half a bottle with water; the sun was scorching the bike seat.

We drove to Nu‘uanu Pali Lookout. The parking lot was not as crowded as we thought. After parking the car, we went to the automatic toll machine to pay. The wind was really strong. If you were not careful, your hat would be blown away. If you were lucky, you could pick it up. If you were unlucky, it would be blown directly into the valley. For girls, it is not recommended to wear a skirt. The scenery is very good, and the magnificent valley scenery is refreshing.

The Honolulu Japanese Temple is also quite good. It is completely modeled after the Japanese style. The temple is made of wood and looks pretty good. There is an artificial lake in front and the surrounding scenery is also very beautiful. I really like the environment here to visit and play.
