Cha Ca La Vong

The restaurant only has one dish, fried fish in traditional style. It is so popular in Vietnam that the government renamed the street where it is located as Fried Fish Road. We visited the Ho Chi Minh branch. Although it is just one dish, it tastes very grand. There are chives, coriander, crushed peanuts, big shrimp chips, and the most Vietnamese rice noodles. The fried fish pieces are added and finally seasoned with shrimp paste squeezed with lime. Although it looks a bit messy, it tastes amazing. Shrimp paste is like stinky tofu. It smells stinky but becomes fresh and fragrant when eaten. When we went there, it was just after five o'clock and no other guests came. We reserved the place for the two of us. The environment is better than that of ordinary restaurants. The service is very good. They taught us how to match the side dishes for a table. The only thing you need to look at the menu to choose is drinks. We both love coconuts. Each one is only 30,000, which is very cheap in the restaurant. The fish was charged per person, 180,000 per person, but the prawn slices were charged separately, but we didn't order them, so we thought they were free when they were served. Although one slice was 3,000, and a total of four slices was only 12,000, it was a bit unpleasant to spend money without prior notice. The total bill cost 432,000, 126 RMB, which is a local delicacy.
