Watch the sunset at Theo Sunset Bay
We bid farewell to Polis and headed back home. The nearest road to Paphos is about 50 kilometers, or a 1-hour drive. At dusk, the sky was clear and the air was fresh. In order to fulfill our wish to watch the Mediterranean sunset in Cyprus, we turned right at Fitos Souvlakia, a small restaurant in Kathikas, halfway along the E709 highway, and then drove along the coastline from north to south.
This section of road is at the westernmost end of the island. At around 5 pm, we parked the car on the side of the road outside the Cynthiana Beach Hotel. This place is also called Theo Sunset Bay. There are several resorts around it, but no one is there.
The sun was setting over the sea. For more than half an hour, we sat on this secluded beach without worrying about the sun burning our eyes. A large cloud just floated where the sun was setting, gathering the last rays of the sun. The sun was not seen for a long time, and time was passing by. Everyone was anxious, helpless, and disappointed...
Suddenly, we found a palm-wide gap between the clouds and the sea level, and the sun just poked its head out from this gap, orange-red, like a shy bride. Wow! Everyone exclaimed, the sunset was drunk, the sea was drunk, and people were drunk. We held our breath, raised our phones, and left this beautiful memory, hoping that time would freeze. The sun slowly sank into the sea, and we couldn&#39;t hold it up. Time also melted into the water and couldn&#39;t be retained...
