Toraya Kobo

Toraya is a famous dessert in the Kanto region. It was one of the souvenirs that the Japanese emperor wanted to give to foreign guests in the past! Toraya Workshop Teahouse in the Higashiyama Old Kishi Residence is not far from the Gotemba outlet, about a five-minute drive. Entering from the gate is a whole bamboo forest with a beautiful view. Going to the right is the Higashiyama Old Kishi Residence, and to the left is Toraya Workshop. You can visit the Higashiyama Old Kishi Residence first, and then go to the other end to the "Toraya Workshop Teahouse", where you can have tea and desserts, and you can also buy souvenirs to take away. You can see the staff making Dorayaki through the transparent glass window, and Dorayaki is a popular product here, so you must buy it and try it!

I like the quiet bamboo forest. It is perfect to taste Japanese tea and slow down the pace here. You can enjoy the scenery while eating tea and snacks, or watch the staff make Dorayaki through the glass window.
