It is also best to go to the store before 4 o'clock, otherwise you may encounter a situation where everything is sold out. Xiao Xin came for the third time before she was satisfied.
The main attraction of the old-fashioned Pangjie Lianziyuan is Pangjie Lianziyuan. You can choose to add taro balls or not. There are also red beans, white fungus, adazi, etc. The soup base is still quite thick and smooth, but the taste is a little sweet.
Pangjie's ancient potato soup looks like ordinary potato cubes with sauce, but the taste of its potatoes is really special, it is actually Q and glutinous, which is completely different from the taste of potatoes you usually eat. The sauce is made by the store, but Xiao Xin thinks it is also very good without the sauce.

Delicious little dumplings, soft and delicious, many people come to eat
In Zhangzhou, 200 yuan buys you a whole day of fun, and 30 yuan buys you as many snacks as you want. The price of goods here is seriously disproportionate to the level of enjoyment, completely overturning my perception of travel spending. 🍃 I. Transportation Guide: Low-Cost Travel in Zhangzhou 1. Getting There: The preferred route is the high-speed rail, which goes directly to Zhangzhou Station. The journey from Xiamen North Station to Zhangzhou Station takes only 20 minutes and costs 15 yuan, making it cheaper than taking a taxi across the city. If you're flying into Xiamen Gaoqi Airport, you can take the airport shuttle to Zhangzhou Passenger Transport Center for 30 yuan per person, making it convenient and economical. ✈️ 2. Getting Around: Zhangzhou city and surrounding attractions are scattered, so renting an electric scooter is recommended. The average daily cost is 20-30 yuan, allowing you to stop and go as you please, making it easy to navigate the old streets and scenic spots. Buses within the city typically cost 1 yuan and cover major attractions, making them ideal for those who are not pressed for time. 🚌 3. Inter-regional Transportation: From Zhangzhou Station to Dongshan Island, you can take a special tourist bus for 40 yuan per person, a 1.5-hour direct trip. To the Nanjing Tulou, there's a direct bus for 35 yuan per person, eliminating the need to worry about getting overcharged by taxi. Excellent value for money 🌟. II. Must-See Attractions: Beautiful Scenery with No Expenses 1. Nanjing Tulou (Tianluokeng + Tasha Village): 90 yuan all-inclusive admission. The Tianluokeng Tulou complex, featuring "four dishes and one soup," is breathtaking. A panoramic view from the observation deck feels like a journey back to Hakka times a century ago. Tasha Village is free to enter, with its gurgling stream and scattered ancient houses. Sit by the stream in the evening for tea and experience the tranquility of slow life 🏯. 2. Dongshan Island: This is a treasure island with no admission fee! The "Mirror Beach" at Jinluan Bay is absolutely stunning. At sunrise, the sea is as smooth as a mirror, creating stunning photos. Enjoy free tours of Tongling Ancient Town and check out filming locations for "The Left Ear." In the evening, enjoy the sea breeze at Nanmen Bay and watch the fishing boats return to port – a romantic and relaxing experience 🌊. 3. Zhangzhou Ancient City: A free shopping and dining paradise! Its bluestone streets and arcade-style houses evoke the charm of Southern Fujian. Stroll through the city during the day and soak up the historical charm. At night, the lights come on and the lanterns sway, creating a vibrant atmosphere. You can also check out various snacks along the way 🎑. 3. Foodie Delights: Eat until you're leaning against the wall for 30 yuan. 1. Must-Try in Zhangzhou Ancient City: - Laoyou Handmade Mochi: 5 yuan per piece. The crust is soft and glutinous, and the filling is rich with crushed peanuts, sesame seeds, and sugar. It's sweet but not cloying 🍡. - Lu Mian: 15 yuan/bowl. A rich broth with seafood, vegetables, meatballs, and plenty of toppings. Every bite is so delicious you'll drop your eyebrows 🍜. - Lotus Seed Balls: 8 yuan/bowl. Chewy balls paired with the sweet lotus seed broth are both refreshing and warming, perfect for summer! 🍲. 2. Dongshan Island Specialties: - Seafood Stalls: Enjoy all the seafood you want at 50 yuan per person. Freshly caught shrimp, crab, and fish are steamed or blanched to maximize their flavor. The price/performance ratio is better than in major coastal cities! 🦞. - Xiao Mi: 10 yuan/portion. Similar to siu mai, the thin skin is generously filled with pork, shrimp, and bamboo shoots. Dipped in sweet and spicy sauce, you can't stop eating! 🥟 3. Around Zhangzhou Station: - Fat Sister Lianzi Yuan (Lianzi Yuan): 10 yuan per bowl. Besides the classic lotus seed yuan, they also offer taro yuan, adazi yuan, and more. The fillings are overflowing. Eat them before catching your bus, and you'll feel completely satisfied 🍧. IV. Tips: Avoiding Pitfalls & Saving Money 1. Tulou Tours: Don't trust illegal taxis or guides, as you might be pressured into paying. Bring your own water and snacks, as prices in the scenic area are slightly higher 💰. 2. Seafood Purchases: When buying seafood on Dongshan Island, it's recommended to go to a regular market, such as Tongling Market. Remember to bargain to avoid being "switched." Choose clearly marked food stalls for processing, and ask for the processing fee in advance 🦀. 3. Accommodation Options: Accommodation in downtown Zhangzhou is cost-effective, with clean and comfortable hotels available for 150-200 yuan. Accommodation prices rise during Dongshan Island's peak season (July-August), so it's recommended to book 1-2 months in advance 🏨. 4. Sun Protection: Zhangzhou has strong UV rays, especially on the islands and in the Tulou scenic area. Be sure to wear sunscreen, a hat, and a parasol to avoid sunburn. 🌞 #FujianZhangzhou #ZhangzhouTravel #FujianQuanzhou #What did everyone do during the National Day holiday? #NationalDayTravelDiary
My first stop in Fujian was Zhangzhou, and I was completely captivated. The prices here are affordable, and the cultural and scenic beauty rivals Xiamen and Quanzhou. Most importantly, there are very few tourists, and the delicious food is so abundant I could eat six meals a day. 🤣 I have a feeling Zhangzhou will become popular sooner or later. While Zhangzhou is still relatively under the radar, I highly recommend a visit; you won't be disappointed. 🚶 Zhangzhou 2-Day, 1-Night Itinerary If you have 2-3 days, you can slowly experience Zhangzhou's beauty, history, and culture: 🟡 Day 1 Zhangzhou Ancient City → Zhangzhou Three Museums → Purple Flower Sea Ferris Wheel → Nanshan Bridge 1️⃣ Zhangzhou Ancient City Spend half a day walking the ancient city's City Walk. The white walls and red tiles are very distinctive. The "Zhangzhou" characters on the Confucian Temple's exterior are worth a look. The old streets and memorial archways of Hong Kong Road and Taiwan Road are well-preserved. 2️⃣ Zhangzhou's Three Museums The Zhangzhou Museum, Zhangzhou Art Museum, and Zhangzhou City Exhibition Hall are all located in one location, making it the perfect place to explore Zhangzhou. 3️⃣ Purple Flower Sea Ferris Wheel This spring-only purple flower sea, with the Ferris wheel in the background, looks like a cartoon. Navigate to "Longjiang Paradise" to see it. 4️⃣ Nanshan Bridge Visit Nanshan Bridge near the ancient city at night. The ancient bridge, the river, and the night view are absolutely stunning. 🟡 Day 2: Qishouyan Temple → Zeng's Fanzilou → Former Site of Tianyi General Administration → West Lake Ecological Park 5️⃣ Qishouyan Temple This is a little-known temple that many locals haven't visited. The bronze hall is stunning, and the entire temple is filled with a Zen-like beauty. 🎐 (I've written a detailed guide before.) 6️⃣ Zeng's Fanzilou This Minnan folk house, over a century old, blends Chinese and Western styles. It took Zeng and his son over a decade to build, using materials shipped from Southeast Asia. It's quite unique. 7️⃣ Former Site of Tianyi General Administration Founded by overseas Chinese, it's said to be China's first private post office. 🏣 Currently under renovation, only the outer perimeter can be visited. 8️⃣ West Lake Ecological Park West Lake, one of Zhangzhou's five lakes and four seas, offers stunning night views. Enjoy a stroll here. If you have more than four days, Dongshan Island, Volcano Island, and the Nanjing Tulou are also worth a visit. 🥘 My accommodation and food recommendations I recommend staying near Zhangzhou Old Town, as it's close to various attractions. Zhangzhou snacks are incredibly delicious and affordable. These are the places you'll want to check out: Zhangji Guwu, Nanjiangbin Shacha Noodles, Fat Sister Lianzi Yuan, Shuitou Beef Shop, Fat Auntie Snacks, Donghua Tofu Pudding, Jianguo Oyster Omelette, Afang Braised Noodles 😋 Besides the delicious food and beautiful scenery, another thing I've experienced in Zhangzhou is the warmth of its people. Everyone I encountered, from drivers to merchants to museum staff, was warm and kind. Zhangzhou, a treasured southern Fujian city, is a place I'll definitely be back for more. #ZhangzhouTravel #ZhangzhouFood #ZhangzhouAncientCity #ZhangzhouFood & Fun #WhereToWalkWeekend
If you only have half a day in Zhangzhou, then go for a walk in the ancient city, sit on the street to eat a dessert, and watch people coming and going. I recommend two places to visit. Figure 1, Shixing South Road (formerly known as Xinfu Road) is the only century-old stone slab road in the ancient city of Zhangzhou. I like this kind of original stone slab road very much. In my memory, when I was a child, Zhangzhou was full of such stone slab roads, and most of them were paved and renovated later. Figures 2 and 3, old streets, churches, and snack bars. Pay attention to the ground. This is the renovated ground. Although it is also made of granite, it is something made by machines at a glance, and it has no temperature. Figures 4 to 7, two very beautiful archways. (Real cultural relics, not newly built now.) National Key Cultural Relics Protection Unit: "Shangshu Tanhua" and "Sanshi Zai Er" Stone Archway. This is a pair of parallel stone archways, which is one of the iconic buildings in the ancient city of Zhangzhou. These two stone archways were built during the Wanli period of the Ming Dynasty to commemorate two Jinshi from Zhangzhou, namely Shangshu Tanhua Lin Hong and Sanshi Zaier Lin Chong. Lin Hong was a Jinshi in the 18th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1590), Tanhua, and later served as the Minister of Personnel. He is the only Tanhua in the history of Zhangzhou. Lin Chong was a Jinshi in the 36th year of Wanli in the Ming Dynasty (1608), and later served as the Minister of the Ministry of Revenue. He is the only Sanshi in the history of Zhangzhou, that is, his grandfather, father, and himself have served as prime ministers. These two stone archways are carved from granite, about 10 meters high and 6 meters wide. Recommend this dessert shop in the old street: Gu Zaowei Pangjie Lotus Seed Balls. Her potatoes are so delicious, so unique, note: they are not sweet! #Local Food #City Humanities Notes #Leisure Place #Where to Go on Weekends #Local Specialty Snacks
