Just got back from Yangzhou! My hard-earned experience tells you, November is definitely not a good time to visit! 😭 Yangzhou in autumn is truly beautiful, but there are so many pitfalls! Here's a comprehensive, honest guide from across the internet, covering transportation, accommodation, and food. Even beginners can follow it and have a blast! ✨ - Avoid Pitfalls & Practical Tips 1. Don't follow touts offering "guides" on Dongguan Street. Booking tickets or services through official channels is much more reliable. 2. The Yangzhou Museum is closed on Mondays; avoid visiting on Mondays. 3. Don't buy tickets from scalpers at the entrance of Slender West Lake; they're overpriced and likely fake. 4. "Free gifts" on the street are often scams; be cautious if they require you to scan a QR code or register for an app. 5. Unlicensed taxis in the old city tend to overcharge; choose legitimate transportation. 6. Yangzhou experiences frequent rainy seasons and scorching sun on sunny days; always bring an umbrella. 💘Must-Try Foods in Yangzhou: 🌻Da Mao Huaiyang Cuisine This old establishment lives up to its reputation. Aunt Mao's Jiangtuan Fish Head Stew is a must-try! The fish is fresh, the broth is fragrant, and the chicken feet are flavorful—the whole pot is glowing! The Stinky Tofu is crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, with a refreshing salty and spicy aroma. While eating, you'll want to order a bowl of Yangzhou fried rice to go with it. 🌻Yongchun Garden · Huaiyang Cuisine · Yangzhou Morning Tea My favorite morning tea spot is Yongchun Garden. The Jadeite Shaomai is incredibly fragrant as soon as it arrives at the table; the glutinous rice is glossy and chewy, and the meat filling is bursting with flavor. The Shrimp Roe Yangchun Noodles have a clear yet flavorful broth; the freshness of the shrimp roe coats every strand of noodle, making it incredibly delicious. You'll want another bowl after finishing one! 🌻Li Shunshun Congee Hot Pot We chose Li Shunshun for a meal with colleagues, and everyone praised the congee broth as amazing. The freshly sliced beef is thinly cut, turning pink in seconds after being cooked—incredibly tender. Add a side of bean curd skin with fish roe and shrimp paste; each piece is bouncy and bursting with flavor. 🌻Jiangjiaqiao Dumpling & Noodle Restaurant: A century-old establishment, offering affordable and delicious dishes. While the selection isn't extensive, every dish is a classic. 🌻Dongpeng Roasted Beef: A friend took me to Dongpeng Roasted Beef during a business trip to Yangzhou. One bite of their beef was divine. The snowflake beef short ribs were tender and juicy, with a rich, flavorful fat; a sprinkle of salt and pepper after grilling was simply divine. The signature roasted bread had crispy edges and an irresistible garlic aroma. #PlacesMyWeChatFriendsAreAskingAbout #Travel #YangzhouTravelGuide #FoodFestival #YangzhouTravelGuide
