走遍天下XZI didn't expect that I could eat shrimp bran wontons,
marble duck, fermented bean curd jelly, chicken sauce tofu, fresh meat/red bean paste plum cake, and golden navel (called tiger claw in Shanghai) all at once in Zhulin Hotel in Yancheng.
Of course, this is just the tip of the iceberg, there are too many things to eat there.
Zhulin Hotel is located in the city center of the old city of Yancheng. It looks like a very modern building, but inside it is the original scene of old Yancheng, restoring the post office, bank, cloth shop, photo studio, barber shop, comic book stall, fishing village and other shops of that era, full of life and interest.
What is particularly surprising is that there are so many people inside, and most of them are young people.

There aren't many places to visit in downtown Yancheng, but this place is very unique. It's called a big hotel, but it's actually a museum. You can see a lot of things that look old, and you can even sit in an old shop and eat. Other cities have similar places, but the display here is very detailed, and the restoration is very high. It feels like you're there, and it shows that a lot of effort was put into the layout. The air conditioning is very strong inside, and you can also have breakfast at the Zhulin morning market. It's worth a visit.
Walking into the Zhulin Hotel, I felt like I was revisiting yesterday and was instantly transported back to my childhood. Even my mother, who is almost 80 years old, was filled with emotion and kept recalling the past days.
Familiar scenes in memory, enjoy some snacks on the first floor after visiting
The next afternoon, we visited the Yancheng Museum, a pleasant surprise. All three exhibits were quite beautiful, and the aroma was wonderful. Afterwards, we went straight to the photo spot shown in picture 1. The European-style flower street was practically empty, so I wouldn't recommend it. I took a picture of the Broadcasting Cube Tower, but unfortunately, we didn't get to see it lit up at night. The Bamboo Forest Hotel wasn't very appealing to us 90s kids. The lighting was gloomy, the style was from an older era, and the prices weren't cheap either—25 yuan for candied hawthorn berries and 22 yuan for glutinous rice balls. We didn't try the eight-bowl feast.
📍First Stop: Sunrise Bay (P2-5) Feeling yesterday's sunrise wasn't enough, I went to Sunrise Bay again this morning, but unfortunately there was still no sunrise, and the visibility was poor, making it even harder to get good photos. 📍Second Stop: Red-crowned Crane Wetland Ecological Tourism Area (P6-11) After breakfast at the hotel, we rushed to the Red-crowned Crane Wetland Ecological Tourism Area. I had hoped to photograph the migrating wild red-crowned cranes, but everything was completely different from what I imagined. We arrived around 9 am and quickly entered the park, just in time for the 10:30 am release activity. Dozens of red-crowned cranes leisurely walked out of their cages, circled above the grass for a while, then landed back on the ground, strolled around for a bit, and finally went back into their cages. But actually, I wanted to photograph the wild red-crowned cranes, not this kind of performance. I guess I didn't plan ahead enough; next time I go, I'll definitely do a better job of planning. After watching the performance, we didn't venture deeper into the nature reserve; it felt so far away, and we were in a hurry to get back to the city. 📍Third Stop: Zhulin Hotel (P12) At 1 PM, we arrived in Yancheng city and went to the Zhulin Hotel first. It's more like a folk museum than a hotel, filled with traditional Yancheng snacks and old-fashioned artifacts, giving it a vintage feel. 📍Fourth Stop: Yancheng Museum (P13-14) My wife always insists on visiting the local museum wherever we go, even if we're short on time. The shelves displaying pottery jars in the Yancheng Museum were quite unique—black and white, resembling chocolates. 📍Fifth Stop: Yancheng Night View (P15-16) Before sunset, we rushed to the pre-selected night view spot for photos, but after taking some time-lapse shots, I realized something was wrong; I seemed to have gone to the wrong building. I was speechless. 📍Sixth Stop: Xintiandi Music Bookstore (P17-18) After dinner, wanting to stroll around a bit more, we headed straight for the Xintiandi Music Bookstore, which had a really nice rooftop. Unfortunately, we seemed to have gone to the wrong place; by the time we realized and rushed back, the bookstore was already dark. Luckily, the owner was still there, and while she chatted with customers, I quickly snapped a few photos—it's just a shame there were no lights.
