Don't go during the day if it's too hot. 📍 Xichang Jianchang Ancient City The lights come on around 7:00 PM, so you can go after dinner. The red lanterns and ancient buildings complement each other beautifully. 📍 Tang Garden This is a great place to stop by in the evening; no need to make a special trip to check it out. 📍 Lushan Mountain On weekends and holidays, the cable car line is long. You can walk up to Guangfu Temple for 20 minutes. Don't hold food in your hands, as the monkeys will snatch it. 📍 Tingtao Town The photos are so photogenic, full of Instagram-worthy vibes! Jinlin Beach is packed with people! The sun is incredibly hot, and there are plenty of pitfalls. I rushed through the high-speed train 🐎 and compiled my experiences from three trips to Xichang 🌊. If you're thinking of going, take a look and avoid some of the pitfalls. 🌈🌈Xichang Weather in July and August: ☀️The temperature can feel around 35-37°C at noon. Be sure to wear sunscreen, as sunburn is easy! The temperature swings between morning and evening are quite large, and it can be a bit chilly at the beach at night! Bring a light jacket or sunscreen to wear at night. Many friends 👭 hesitated about visiting Xichang after seeing rain for nearly two weeks. Take my advice and go! Xichang is sunny all day, and it only rains after 10 PM or in the middle of the night 🌧️, which doesn't affect your trip! 1️⃣ Jinlin Beach - Pretend to be in Sanya A must-do for sunset lovers! Arrive around 6:30 PM in the summer and bring a picnic mat for photos. Lesson learned the hard way: The scenic area shuttle bus stops running before 7 PM! After watching the sunset, you can only walk 2 km or take an illegal taxi (negotiate down to 20 yuan per person). It's recommended to drive or rent an electric car to Jinlin Beach. 2️⃣ Lushan Mountain - The monkeys are more aggressive than you! The cable car and slide are a must-do (65 yuan package)! The downhill slide is more exciting than a roller coaster! Monkey Prevention Guide ✅ Zipper your backpack forward and don't carry plastic bags or drinks! ❌ Don't look at people! Don't feed them! Even your water bottle might be snatched. The observation deck is a must-see! The panoramic view of Qionghai Lake is stunning! 🥩 Fire Pit BBQ - Locals give directions Li Xiaochang Main Store (Zhuangyuandian Road): The small intestines are a must-order! Line up early on holidays; business is booming. There's even a performance in the evening, and the waiters will grill them for you! Super delicious! 3️⃣ Jianchang Ancient City vs. Tang Garden—Choose One for a Night Tour: Jianchang Ancient City: Authentic Ming and Qing Dynasty architecture, with lanterns lighting up to transport you to ancient times (free!) Obsessive sunscreen! SPF50+ hat and sleeves are all you need; the plateau's UV rays can peel your skin in just half an hour. 2. Transportation: - Take the 106 bus around the lake (get a Yuecheng e-card through Alipay) - Wanshun taxis are faster than Didi. 3. Accommodation: - For convenience, stay in the old town (Qionghai Lake, 17 degrees Celsius, near Torch Square). - For a relaxing vacation, choose Qionghai Beach (but prices will double). ⚠️ Useful Information: 🗺️ Maps: Search "Xichang Qionghai Cycling Route" on Amap. 🚌 Bus: Use the Yuecheng Bus mini-app to check real-time bus locations. ☀️ Weather: Big temperature difference between morning and evening! A light jacket is a must. ❗ Final tip: Don't believe the "experience all of Xichang in two days" hype; this is the perfect place to relax and unwind! If you prefer a seaside stay, you can choose Qionghai Hotel, Qionghai Bay Parkview Hotel, or other coastal hotels. - 📷About Attractions: 1⃣️ Jianchang Ancient City & Tang Garden Jianchang Ancient City is an ancient city without a strong commercial atmosphere. Climb the city tower during the day to admire the ancient buildings, and enjoy the night view at night. Tang Garden is perfect for nighttime viewing and is known as Xichang's "Great Tang City That Never Sleeps." 2⃣️ Diaoyutai With its turquoise waters and blue skies, the scenery here is breathtaking, rivaling Erhai Lake in beauty. Take a boat ride to feed seagulls, stroll along the lakeside, and visit the Qionghai Hotel to feed black swans. There's also a wooden boardwalk extending into the sea, perfect for photo ops. The sunrise here is also stunning. 3⃣️ Jinlin Beach Take bus 106 and get off at Walnut Village. Scan your ID card to enter the scenic area, then take a 10-yuan sightseeing bus to the beach. This is Sichuan's "Little Sanya" and a great place for children. Watching the sunset here is truly breathtaking (but the sightseeing bus ends at 6:30 p.m., so be mindful). 4⃣️ Yinlin Beach Take bus 106 and get off at the Boyue Hotel in Qionghai Bay. The beach is right next to the hotel. The sand here is white, compared to Jinlin Beach. The beach is less crowded. 5⃣️Dashiban Village Take bus 106 and get off at Dashiban Village. The orange walls here, combined with the good weather, are truly photogenic. You can also rent a Yi costume for photos. There's also a Lingying Temple in the village. 6⃣️Lushan Scenic Area Take bus 106 and get off at Qionghai Park. Across from the park is the cable car. I highly recommend the 65 yuan cable car ride up the mountain and the slide down. It's truly fun. You control your own speed throughout the slide, so it's perfect for children. From the mountain, you can overlook Qionghai Lake and spot many monkeys. 🍱About the food: Rolled rice noodles, fried potatoes, grilled pork ribs, skewers, rice noodles, strawberries, and Liangshan snow are all delicious. For grilled pork ribs, I recommend Li Xiaochang BBQ; it's really delicious.
