☁️Yuhai Tower is located on Daoyuanqian Street, Rui&#39;an City, Zhejiang Province. It was built in the 14th year of the Guangxu period of the Qing Dynasty (1888) by Sun Yiyan and his son Sun Yirang as a place to store books.

☁️The Sun family father and son admired the Southern Song scholar Wang Yinglin, so they took his magnum opus &quot;Yu Hai&quot; as the name of the building to show that the collection of books is &quot;as precious as jade and as vast as the sea.&quot;

☁️Sun Yirang was a scholar of outstanding achievements and a leader of the Wenzhou Reform Movement in the late Qing Dynasty. In his later years, he devoted himself to establishing local education and industry, promoting the modernization process in southern Zhejiang, especially Wenzhou, and was respected and cherished by local people.

☁️In 1953, Sun Yirang&#39;s second son Sun Yanzhao donated the Yuhai Tower&#39;s collection of books and cultural relics to the country. The collection includes most of Sun Yirang&#39;s manuscripts of his posthumous works and many of his annotated editions by famous scholars. It was received by Zhejiang Normal College (the predecessor of Hangzhou University) and is now treasured in the Zhejiang University Library.

☁️Yuhai Tower, a very rare building that combines book collection and private garden, was converted into the Sun Yirang Museum and continues to accompany the growth of Wenzhou.
