However, when I, a novice in the world of Zen meditation, stepped into Qingyuan Zen Temple, I realized that the intensity of practice here is comparable to graduate courses, rigorous and profound.
During these ten days, our lives were strictly regulated: mobile phones were prohibited from being used, speech was prohibited from being uttered, and the diet was only vegetarian. The work and rest time was to get up at four in the morning and go to bed at ten in the evening. The main task every day was to sit in meditation for ten hours. We need to observe our breathing and feel every bit of the body. Here, in addition to practice, we don&#39;t need to worry about any worldly affairs. Qingyuan Zen Temple provides free food and accommodation, and volunteers are responsible for maintaining order, cleaning, and arranging life. We only need to accept the careful care of others like kindergarten children.
Looking back on the first day, everyone&#39;s face was full of confusion, politeness and alienation. Obviously, they are all people who have lived in the hustle and bustle of the city for a long time. But on the tenth day, everyone&#39;s face was filled with friendly smiles. Whether they knew each other or not, everyone gathered together and chattered. Although we didn&#39;t say a word in ten days because of the ban on speaking, our hearts felt so close and there was no barrier. This is an atmosphere full of unconditional love, beyond class, social status, wealth, beauty, ugliness, age, national boundaries, and only pure, unconditional love.
