This restaurant's fried shredded pork with dried bamboo shoots, fried bacon with bracken, and steamed bacon are all very good, with local characteristics. They are delicious, and the service attitude is also very good. The portions are really big, enough for many people to eat!

Maolan is very beautiful, the proprietress cooks delicious dishes, and even picked wild vegetables for me to eat. The green plum soup is also delicious. I bought two bags of dried green plums and boiled them at home to drink.

If you're planning a trip to Guizhou, I highly recommend a trek through Maolan's primeval forest. It's a semi-developed scenic area, almost entirely preserving its pristine natural beauty, completely untouched by commercialization. Personally, I think Maolan's scenery surpasses even Xiaoqikong! Here, you can not only admire Xiaoqikong's waterfalls but also explore karst caves and even enjoy water activities to escape the heat! 🚶‍♂️ Trekking Date: June 11, 2025 📅 Recommended Trip Duration: 1-2 days 🚌 Transportation Guide: From Libo: Take a bus from Libo Bus Station to Bake, the journey takes approximately 1.5-2 hours (note that the last bus departs at 4:30 PM). From Xiaoqikong: Take bus number 11 from the East Gate of the scenic area to Libo Bus Station (fare 7 yuan), then transfer to a bus to Bake (fare 14 yuan). 🏨 Accommodation Recommendations: I recommend staying near Wuyanqiao (Five-Eyed Bridge). If your budget allows, you can choose Shanshe Hotel, which is the most upscale hotel in the scenic area. However, they also have a guesthouse called Backpackers' Hostel, which I don't recommend because my room had a huge cockroach 😅. 🍽 Food Experience: I highly recommend Li Dage Restaurant near Wuyanqiao. It's affordable and the portions are generous. Two people ordered two dishes and only spent 77 yuan, and we were very full. Li Dage is also a tour guide and can take you out to explore. He led my hiking trip, and it was fantastic! Highly recommended! 🗺️ Itinerary: If you only have one day, I suggest taking the scenic area sightseeing bus (ticket price 50 yuan) to visit attractions such as Qinglong Waterfall, Crab Gully, and Latan Waterfall. If you have plenty of energy, you can spend an additional 3 hours exploring the caves (Golden Lion Cave, Nine Caves Heaven, Immortal Cave, Black Cave; guide fee 150 yuan). If you have 2-3 days, you can hire a car to the Stone Forest (officially closed, but you can get up there if you hire a local to guide you; the cost is 200 yuan per car), or hike the Funnel Forest for 6 hours (guide fee 300 yuan, unlimited participants). A hiking trip in Maolan is definitely an unforgettable experience. Whether exploring karst caves or enjoying the beauty of the primeval forest, it can fulfill all your fantasies about nature.
