Glazed Eggplant For those of us who've been to Northeast China, glazed eggplant is a relatively new dish, but it's incredibly delicious! Pork Belly with Kidney Beans A Northeastern favorite, the perfect combination of large kidney beans and pork belly and pork belly is a delight! When it arrived, steam bubbling from the large white porcelain bowl, the tangy aroma of sauerkraut mingled with the meaty aroma of the ribs. While it wasn't particularly impressive, perhaps the online expectations were too high, leaving the unexpected feeling lacking. However, the generous portions were truly surprising: a generous bowl, more than enough for two or three people to enjoy. The real eye-catcher was the smoked sauce platter. It arrived overflowing with pig ears, noodle sausage, pork elbow, dried sausage... seven or eight meat and vegetable dishes, all glistening and attractive. A piece of smoked pig's ear is crispy and chewy, with a smoked aroma that's neither too strong nor too weak, perfectly permeating the ingredients; it evokes the flavors of old Liaoyang.
