How could you miss this unique highland delicacy when visiting Jiuzhaigou! In late autumn, Jiuzhaigou is ablaze with color, and I stumbled upon a yak and mushroom soup feast that I&#39;ve been dreaming of 🍲

&quot;Sichuan Flavor Memories &middot; Zhen Niu Dao,&quot; hidden near the entrance to the valley, was a true gem! If I hadn&#39;t been chatting with the local driver, I almost would have missed this amazing place. They use free-range yaks unique to Aba Prefecture, paired with over ten kinds of wild highland mushrooms such as matsutake and morels. The soup was so delicious I drank three bowls without stopping. The address is right next to Youxuanhui Supermarket on Yulin Road, very convenient to navigate to!

Must-try three dishes:
▪️Yak Meat and Mushroom Hot Pot: Large chunks of yak meat with skin, cooked for a long time without becoming dry, the milky aroma explodes on your palate along with the sweetness of the mushrooms.
▪️Mushroom Milk Pudding: A pudding-like texture with a matsutake mushroom aroma, novel and addictive!
▪️Yak Butter Tea: Salty, fragrant, and silky smooth, warming both the stomach and the heart.

An unexpected bonus was their Sichuan snacks: crispy barley cakes, sweet and sour milk curd egg rolls, and mugwort cakes with a fresh mountain fragrance... each one refreshed my taste buds! The owner said many of the spices were sourced from the surrounding Tibetan villages, no wonder it&#39;s so authentic.

‼ Useful Tips:
1. The new location in the new town has a better environment than the old one, with scenic views on the second floor.
2. It&#39;s recommended to avoid peak meal times; we went at 7:30 pm and still had to queue.
3. A small portion of the soup pot is enough for 2-3 people; mushrooms can be added extra.
4. It&#39;s currently the off-season, and the average price is around 80+ RMB, much more affordable than in the tourist area.

I don&#39;t particularly like yak meat, so I chose a popular soup pot in Kangding at noon. Chicken, pork tripe and wild mushrooms were boiled together. The boss said that there were only red mushrooms in this season. I didn&#39;t expect that the taste was like sawdust, which was a pity. The taste was quite satisfactory, depending on the dipping sauce you make. The cold tripe shreds and brown sugar glutinous rice cake were good. The highlight was the huge homemade bread, which was bubbled, fresh and soft.

🌿 Location: 140 meters south of No. 396 Yulin Road, Kangding New Town Plaza. The private rooms are clean. I was surprised to find such a delicious spicy hot pot in Kangding. It&#39;s far superior to many hot pots in Chengdu. The soup base is rich and flavorful. Self-service seasoning.
🌿 Tripe: Fresh ingredients, excellent quality, melts in your mouth.
🌿 Shredded Yellow Throat: A bit chunky, but soft and chewy, very delicious.
🌿 Snowflake Premium Beef: Fatty but not greasy.

The overall menu is diverse and fresh. Highly recommended.
