Kaifeng Diyilou is a century-old restaurant. The Diyilou steamed dumplings sold in the restaurant are a traditional delicacy, which originated from the famous food in Dongjing during the Northern Song Dynasty, the Wanglou Cave Plum Blossom Steamed Buns. The Diyilou steamed dumplings have a beautiful shape, and their shape "looks like a lantern when lifted up, and looks like a chrysanthemum when put down", and are known as "the best food in Zhongzhou". The steamed dumplings are made with careful selection of ingredients and are made with fine flour. They are made with lean meat from the hind legs of pigs as stuffing, and fine flour as skin, and are steamed over high heat. As a native of Henan and a local of Kaifeng, I really want to say that it is garbage! The xiaolongbao is not as authentic as the food stalls, and the other snacks are not as delicious as those sold outside. The prices are very expensive and the service is poor. It is a typical scam for outsiders! Of course, it is not completely useless, for example, the baked carp noodles are quite good.

The fried jelly was good, a little salty, and the taste was okay! The bucket chicken was just average, in fact, I wanted to say it was bad, salty, with a lot of bone crumbs, and it was hard to chew. My son ate one piece and refused to eat it again. In order not to waste it, I insisted on eating half of it, and almost stabbed my mouth twice. I gave this dish a bad review! The soup dumplings tasted very average, with thick skin, little soup, and the filling was not fresh. My son said after eating the first one that it was not as good as the soup dumplings in Shanghai Chenghuang Temple. I felt the same way. It really feels a bit exaggerated to say that this is a famous food in Kaifeng! (Of course, this is just my experience at this restaurant. There is actually a really good restaurant, which is the one my friend recommended.) Maybe my expectations were too high. After ordering, I waited for more than an hour before the soup dumplings were served. The fried carp baked noodles were too dry and difficult to chew, but the soup dumplings tasted good.
