1) Wake Concept Store: A vinyl record store with a wide variety of styles. Great for listening to music and browsing. 2) Mom's Not Home: A unique shop in Yau Ma Tei. The graffiti on the exterior wall is quirky and cute. 3) Milligram Coffee: The tofu cheesecake is delicious. 4) Breathing Planet: A tea house in the heart of To Kwa Wan called "Dream Core Showa." I love the retro decor. 5) Neighborhood Coffee: A cafe I stumbled upon near Aberdeen. The wooden retro style and greenery are so chill. 6) Cookie Four Ensemble: Souvenirs bought for family and friends. The butterfly cookies are light, fluffy, and delicate, with a wonderful airy texture. The milky and buttery aroma spreads on the tongue after biting into them—pure bliss! You can also sample various flavors in the shop before buying. 7) EN Coffee: Located on a hill in Central. I was pleasantly surprised by the coffee. The overall taste was clean and bright, with distinct flavors. 4) select18: In Sheung Wan, a paradise for vintage lovers. 9) Toptown: A rooftop bar in Central with a great view and perfect for taking photos. My Hong Kong Memories
This year's list features restaurants from 19 Asian cities, eight of which are new to the list. The list was selected by the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy’s judging panel, which consists of 318 influential experts, including food writers, food critics, chefs, restaurant entrepreneurs and leaders in Asia’s restaurant industry, with an equal ratio of men to women. Hong Kong has six restaurants on the list, with The Chairman (No.4) in Hong Kong remaining the highest ranked restaurant in the city, with its chef and owner Danny Yip receiving the Icon Award for his outstanding contribution to promoting Cantonese cuisine on the international stage. Following closely behind is Wing (No.5), a Chinese restaurant headed by Vicky Cheng, which soared 32 places from the previous year and won the 2024 Highest Climber Award "Best Improvement Award" sponsored by Korean Air. The rankings of other Hong Kong shortlisted restaurants also improved significantly: Neighborhood (No.16) rose 13 places from the previous year, Mono (No.27) rose 14 places, and Caprice (No.32) climbed 17 places. Newly listed Ando is ranked No.37. Its Argentinian chef Agustin Balbi presents a series of delicacies that combine Japanese and Spanish flavors. #MonthlySpecialPlan #Asia50BestRestaurants #HongKongFood #HongKong
Hong Kong 🇭🇰 Modern Bistro Originator Is it really worthy of Asia’s 50 Best One of the pioneers of Modern bistro, the ranking has risen rapidly in recent years, and it is hard not to be noticed. I marked it for a long time, but since I couldn’t make an appointment with a suitable dinner partner, I just came alone. It is delicious, but not to the extent that you must go there, provided that you can accept the salty and greasy seasoning and the seemingly untrained service. · A fusion of French and Asian cuisine, the overall feeling is consistent with many reviews. The dishes are too heavy. If you want to sell wine, you don’t need to duck. As Asia’s Best 50, the taste did not meet expectations, but if you want to select the most difficult to find restaurant in Asia, it is likely to enter the Top 50. · I heard that it is difficult to book, but it is relatively easy for me to book (after all, I have been educated by many people who have difficulty in booking). The space has a sense of cavernous depth, with more seats than expected, but the distance between the tables is very narrow, and there is no privacy for chatting. It is indeed popular, as the name suggests, the relaxed and lively atmosphere is very neighborhood. · Located in Central, the prices are naturally high, and the positioning is also aligned with modern bistro. However, the portions are quite large, and there are many hard dishes suitable for sharing. The wine list is quite rich, but there are not many types sold by the glass, which is not very attractive to me. · There is no lack of local and Japanese ingredients in the dishes, and Sichuan ingredients such as bacon and peppercorns also make me shine (but the peppercorns are not numbing at all). It is worth mentioning that the menu here changes very frequently, and it is almost unpredictable, but several signature dishes and elements are always there. · [Appetizer bread], Sourdough with butter, the acidity is deep and long, the wheat aroma is very good, the taste is soft, but the humidity seems to be too high, and the chewing is not as strong as expected. · [French Aquitaine Beef Tartare/Abalone/Sansho Pepper] Except that the chef's hands were shaking when pouring olive oil, salt and pepper, this is a good beef tartare. · The raw beef is smooth and tender, but also has toughness. You don’t need to worry about the fishy smell. You just need to worry about whether it is too salty to eat. The abalone slices on the top are covered like petals, which is quite unexpected. It is a kind of crispy and refreshing like chewing cartilage, with a wonderful taste contrast. · [Puy Lentil/Poached Egg/“N25” Ossetia Caviar] This is my favorite. Although the shape is a bit scary, and the caviar with Puy Lentil also subverts the perception of previous caviar dishes, but just take a bite, “dark cuisine” is really delicious! · 440HKD, expensive but confident. It is not common to see restaurants put “N25” in front, symbolizing the top origin and extremely high standards. I am not at the level of being able to judge caviar, but this one is indeed a little different from the caviar I have eaten before. The saltiness and umami are so delicately balanced, letting a rich ocean flavor flow deep into the taste buds. · The chewy lentils are glued together by the thick and dense sauce and excessive olive oil, and a perfect hot spring egg is buried in the middle. Gently poke it open, the golden egg liquid blends with the caviar, and the umami taste is greatly sublimated. · 【Morisseau Mussels/Escargot Butter】 If you order mussels, you are destined to be unable to free your hands. You will fight hard with this pot all night. After this, I feel that I will be a master of eating mussels. If you need to take into account the appearance of this meal, this dish is not recommended, but it should be the main dish with the most one or two people. · The sauce is the thicker one, and the rich and charming aroma of basil, garlic, and parsley erupts in the nose. The snail butter even has a wonderful sour taste. After eating the mussels, I couldn't help throwing a piece of bread into the sauce, which shows that I like it very much. · The mussels are not particularly large, but the quality is good, fresh and tasty, smooth and tender. I slurped it up, and the freshness of the ocean, the fragrance of the countryside, and the texture of cream all came together between my lips and teeth. · The service that many people complained about almost left me with a psychological trauma. The waitress who took the order was weird, but unfortunately the light was too dim and she couldn't see my rolling eyes. Then the waiter stood by the table the whole time, and was much more proactive in collecting the plates than introducing the dishes. It felt very unnatural to be stared at while eating. · In the end, I don't know if it was treated differently. I came back to read the reviews and found that they would give me a canelé after the meal, but I didn't. Thank you so much for not being sick of it from beginning to end. · 📍Neighborhood Ground Floor, 61-63 Hollywood Road, Soho, Central #Western Food #Hong Kong Food #Caviar #Big Restaurant Review #Star Traveler Store Search
