On our third day in Hohhot, despite the rain forecast, we decided to take a gamble and rented a car to head straight to the Huitengxile Grassland. Thankfully, the weather was kind. Except for a half-hour of rain upon arrival, it was sunny and then partly cloudy, making it very comfortable. The kids had a blast horseback riding, archery, and grass skiing. I took the advice of other users and didn't go into Huanghuagou. So, we left the city at 9:00 AM and returned to the hotel by 4:30 PM. We took the highway the entire way, avoiding traffic jams and making it a wonderful experience. I personally think the grasslands around Huanghuagou are already beautiful, although the guide kept saying the grass was a bit yellow and we should have arrived earlier. 😂 Finally, we had the Saiyedmon meal, which I found average, not as amazing as the ice-boiled lamb we had the previous day. In Saihan District, Hohhot, there is a Mongolian restaurant that allows you to taste the grassland. When you step into the restaurant, you will be overwhelmed by the rich ethnic customs. The small barbecue is really delicious and satisfying. The tendons are easy to get greasy, but the taste is also very good. It is excellent with sand onions. The cold sand onions are a must-try. It is considered a local specialty. I went to several Mongolian restaurants and they all recommended this. The milk tea is salty and has a little oil floating on it. I think this is actually equivalent to soup. Of course, I got used to it after drinking it for two days. I think it tastes very good.
