alicezmyThis is a Cantonese restaurant hidden in an old European-style building in Shamian. The environment is very good, especially on the sixth floor. The restaurant is very close to White Swan, but the price is very different, about one-fifth of the latter.
The characteristic of this restaurant is that the tea 🍵 is super good, and the tea seat is only 8 yuan. The dim sum 🥧 provided in the morning and lunch markets are rich in variety and taste good, and there are many unique ones that I have. The price is not expensive, and working people can afford it.
There are fewer choices in the rice market, so I usually come here for dim sum.

When I went to Shamian, I first went to Qiao Meishijia, where I had to wait for a table. Then I went to Tao Ran Xuan next door, where I also had to wait for a table. It seemed to be faster, so I waited at ease. After about thirty or forty minutes, it was finally my turn. Tao Ran Xuan focuses on traditional Chinese culture. It has four or five floors, and each floor is filled with various antiques or curios, creating an ancient atmosphere. The first floor is a private room, and the tea fee is 25 yuan; the second and third floors are popular, and the tea fee ranges from 6 yuan to 8 yuan. The food is well made, but the serving time is too long, so some customers are impatient to wait. In addition, some details are not good enough, such as asking what kind of tea to drink, I picked chrysanthemum tea at random, and found that the tea fee was 10 yuan when checking out. This should have been informed in advance. In addition, the invoices have to be entered manually by the financial staff instead of scanning the QR code, which is not convenient.
They have morning tea and meal service. You don't have to wait for a table for the meal service. You have to wait for an hour for morning tea downstairs. The private room is quite nice and quiet. The ginger chicken is crispy and cooked just right, tender without blood. The fried rice noodles with squid ink are very special, salty and fragrant, and feel very fresh.
Shamian has now become a popular place for tourists to check in, and locals are also keen to come here for a walk, so the restaurants on the island are very popular. If you come here on weekends, you must be prepared to wait for a table. There is enough space between the tables, and it is more comfortable to eat. The dim sum in the tea market is a bit expensive, but it is really authentic, the portion is sufficient, and it is at the master level. Shrimp dumplings, steamed chicken feet in black bean sauce, beef intestines, tripe, etc. are all very satisfying.
A long-established Cantonese restaurant in Shamian near my home Beautiful scenery, lush greenery The first floor is the lobby, where you can drink Kung Fu tea. The tables are not densely packed and the seats are spacious There are private rooms upstairs, which are also large in size. If you have a meal together, the privacy of the private rooms is better Salty citrus stewed local pork soup, the first sip tastes a light salty citrus flavor, using Chaoshan salty citrus that has been pickled for 5 years as the raw material, and the throat feels so comfortable after drinking it. I have to try it when I get home Creative crispy meat, brought up, the presentation is very beautiful, the crispy fried pork belly, sandwiched in the bag, and then dipped in salad dressing, crispy and delicious. Crispy lotus root and black pepper cowboy cubes, large portion, refreshing lotus root cubes and tender cowboy meat, complement each other, the wok is full of energy, and the stir-fry is very fragrant There is a tea market here, of course, shrimp dumplings are indispensable, the size is very large, the shrimp meat is Q-elastic, plump, a great satisfaction Squid ink fried rice noodles, the appearance is very special, squid ink is added to the rice noodles, but I can taste the taste of fried beef noodles
We originally wanted to go to White Swan for tea, but there was a long line, so we went to Tao Ran Xuan across from White Swan instead. The ambiance was wonderful, and we went to the 6th floor, offering a view of the Pearl River. We ordered a few dim sum dishes, all of which were average, but the Tang Sha Weng was incredibly delicious, a true childhood favorite. Absolutely amazing.
