A century-old restaurant, located in the core of Datong Ancient City, very close to Huayan Temple, Nine Dragon Wall, etc., with an antique style, elegant environment, good taste, and inexpensive price. The only thing is that the business hours are a bit short😄. If you go before 8 o'clock in the evening, you will stop taking numbers. Friends who want to go should pay attention to the business hours! The dishes are large, ordered steamed buns, cold cabbage hearts, pure mutton offal (no smell at all, especially clean and delicious), sweet and sour meatballs (sweet and sour, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, large quantity), hot and sour soup (you can order half a portion, the quantity is very sufficient, the other dishes were not finished, the hot and sour soup is the only one that I drank clean😄 delicious)
Fenglin Pavilion is a place famous for its food, especially the three fresh and hundreds of flowers stewed dishes here are loved by everyone. The key is that the entrance is guarded at the source to ensure safety, so everyone can eat with special peace of mind.
The food is delicious and the price is very affordable. The environment is really great. Every corner is very thoughtful. I especially like this kind of ancient restaurant. There are so many people, but the food is served quickly. You won’t have to wait for a long time. However, you have to go to get a number in advance. You can start taking numbers at 9 am and 2:30 pm. Basically, all the numbers are taken in a few minutes, so you have to go early.
It is said to be one of the famous tourist attractions in Datong. It was fully booked at 4 pm and I waited for more than an hour before I could eat. The food tasted good and I thought the price was moderate, not ridiculously expensive. I ordered Baihua Shaomai, and I personally prefer the one with green vegetable filling; the powdered mutton offal tasted really good, and the jelly meatballs (I am from Shanxi and have eaten too much of these) were just ok; although the Hulusi was very special, I was a little disappointed because I had too high expectations. It took 30 minutes to eat and 1 hour to visit. It was really amazing inside. Every eaves and beams were carefully carved, every wall was a landscape, and every turn was full of surprises. Even the Hanging Temple had it. Fenglin Pavilion really showed the architectural culture of Shanxi to the fullest! It is said that it cost 300 million to build. I thought it was exaggerated before the visit, but after the visit, I felt it was true! Friends, even if you don't go to eat, go and visit it!
The ordering starts at 2pm. No reservations are accepted by phone. Popular glutinous rice and other dishes are all available. Basically, all the orders for the day are issued at 3pm. Three kinds of environments are arranged randomly. Two are dine-in. We were lucky to get the third one upstairs. The environment is so good that it is hard to describe. It is worth it even if you spend 200 to sit here for two hours. The Hanging Temple is miniaturized into a mural, and other decorations can be regarded as attractions. It is worthy of the legendary decoration of more than 100 million. The dishes are basically good. I recommend the health-preserving Hulusi and look at the knife skills. Fenglin Pavilion is very considerate and special for single dogs like me who go to eat alone, absolutely moved! The buckwheat stuffed with shepherd's purse is delicious and tastes good! The most recommended is the mutton offal soup here, which contains sheep tripe, sheep liver, sheep blood, and intestines! Logically speaking, I am from Chengde, and friends who have been there will know that our mutton offal soup is also very famous! So I definitely came to PK with the intention of representing our Chengde Pingquan mutton offal soup! But when I took the first bite of mutton offal, I suddenly felt that it was so delicious that my soul left my body! The lamb liver is slightly hard and very fragrant when chewed! The lamb tripe is very tender and the heat is just right! The lamb blood is also, it melts in your mouth! When you see the thin lamb intestines, you know that the ingredients of this bowl of soup are compromised! The lamb intestines are thick and there is too much fat. It will feel too greasy after eating, and the smell of sheep and organs will be very strong, so this is why some people can't accept that taste! But this bowl of soup is really perfect! In fact, when this bowl of soup was first served, there was a thick layer of oil on it. I was a little scared, but I still tried it with the mentality of trying it. I felt that the taste was very strong when I put it in my mouth! Since I don’t like to eat too much oil, I put some vinegar. When I drink it again, I don’t feel sour. It’s not so oily and the taste is better! Although I can’t eat much, this bowl of lamb soup must not be left over! After drinking the soup, I drank some freshly squeezed sea buckthorn juice to clear my mouth. At the beginning, I felt a little sour! But at the end, I wanted to buy another serving of sea buckthorn juice! I found that I couldn’t help but fall in love with the taste of this juice! Unfortunately, Fenglin Pavilion Juice does not have takeaway packaging, so the plan had to be abandoned! But I decided to come back tomorrow to eat, and bring a container and continue to pack a portion! (The green grass on the juice is a side dish for sweet and sour meatballs, which I borrowed for a while) Finally, let's talk about meatballs! I ordered this dish purely because of the recommendation of my friends on Ctrip! As soon as it was served, I felt her domineering sourness like West Lake vinegar fish! Due to my taste habits, I didn't eat a few, but it is indeed as everyone said, the taste is very good! Fourth, cold shredded zucchini, originally ordered because I was afraid that it would be too greasy to eat and ordered a cold dish. The sauce made in Chengde is mainly mahjong, with vinegar, sugar, seafood sauce and the most important mustard (mustard is one of my favorites). Fenglin Pavilion is also good, with a grand appearance and excellent selection of ingredients! Fifth, it is the legendary oat noodle Wo Wo! Hahahaha, I am also challenging it on behalf of our Chengde Bashang Grassland Oat Noodle Wo Wo! Speaking of sauce, we basically have meat stew!
