Jingping Ancient Village in Zhongfang Town, 15 kilometers away from the urban area of Huaihua City, has a long history and profound cultural heritage. During the Warring States Period, it was the ancient city of Mulan, the capital of the ancient Xiangke State. In the Han Dynasty, it was the site of Wuyang County. It is the hometown of Pan Shiquan, the enlightenment teacher of Emperor Qianlong.
The ancient village is basically a complex of Ming and Qing Dynasty buildings composed of small courtyards. There are more than 20 ancient buildings that blend with the surrounding mountains, rivers and countryside. As soon as you arrive at the entrance of the village, the first thing you see is the Pan Clan Ancestral Hall. The Pan family of Jingping is a descendant of Pan Renmei, the prime minister of the Northern Song Dynasty. 95% of the people in the village have the surname Pan. The founding ancestor was Pan Zhenzhou, the grandson of Pan Renmei, who was then a general of Wulue and inherited his father's title of Guanglu Dafu. In the suburbs of Xuzhou, Jingping was opened up, villages were built, and ancestral halls were established. After thousands of years of reproduction, they became a prosperous ethnic group on the Hunan-Guizhou border.
In addition to the ancestral hall, ancient post road, Fubo Palace, Wenchang Pavilion, Chastity Arch, ancient well from the Tang Dynasty, hydrological stele, Dragon and Phoenix Bridge, Guanyin Pavilion, and Wutong Temple, there are also other buildings in the village. High firewall
