Stepping into Zhanjiajie national park is literally immersing yourself in the real Pandora planet. The lush greenery and beautiful landscape of nature here is absolutely breathtaking. Zhangjiajie -Pictures don’t do you justice!!! Breathing taking views!!!
I’ve been dreaming of visiting Zhangjiajie in Hunan for the past 5 years! I finally visited all the sites.
Zhangjiajie National Park (pic 2 and 5) consists of a few area and it’s absolutely huge- you can easily spend a couple of days here especially if you want to explore the beautiful park- however as I was pressed for time I only spent a day here and mostly visited the Wulingyuan scenic area.
However, my absolutely favourite has to be Tianmen Mountain- (pic 1,3,4) - truly, pictures can’t capture the beauty of this place. To get to the top, you take the cable car, which apparently is the "longest passenger cableway of high mountains in the world" - it ascends 1,279 m (4,196 ft)- I can only describe it as that your eyes are rewarded with magnificent views of blue skies (depending on the weather of course), luscious greenery and emerald coloured lakes as you are slowly transported up.
When you reach the top, you feel as if you are truly on top of the world. As you take a picture of the back drop of Tianmen Mountain (pic 3,4) - the literal translation is “sky door” mountain - meaning the door to heaven- I would say the description definitely fits it well!

The Mystical Beauty of Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
#chinatrip
A visit to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is a must for nature lovers on a #ChinaTrip. Known for its towering sandstone pillars, this UNESCO World Heritage site inspired the floating Hallelujah Mountains in the movie “Avatar.” The park’s breathtaking views, lush greenery, and scenic cable cars make it a magical experience. I recommend visiting early in the morning to catch the fog rolling through the mountains, creating a surreal atmosphere. Be sure to hike the Tianzi Mountain for panoramic views and take the glass-bottomed bridge over the Grand Canyon for an adrenaline rush! #100WaysofTravel #Zhangjiajie #AvatarMountains
Zhangjiajie is a magical place
Zhangjiajie is nothing short of magical. Tucked away in Hunan Province, this place feels like it belongs in a dream—or maybe a movie, which makes sense since it inspired the floating mountains in "Avatar." When you first see those towering sandstone pillars, it's hard to believe they're real. They rise up out of the misty forests like something out of a fairy tale, creating a landscape that's both mystical and breathtaking.
The Zhangjiajie National Forest Park is the heart of this wonderland. Walking through it, you can’t help but feel tiny compared to the immense pillars around you. There’s something almost surreal about standing on the glass bridges or peering over the edge of a cliffside walkway, knowing that the view you're seeing is one of the most stunning on the planet. And then there's Tianmen Mountain, with its "Heaven's Gate"—a natural rock arch that feels like a gateway to another world.
But it’s not just the scenery that makes Zhangjiajie special. The local culture, with its rich Tujia and Miao traditions, adds a layer of warmth and history to the experience. You’ll find yourself immersed in the stories, songs, and dances of the people who’ve called this incredible place home for centuries.
Zhangjiajie isn’t just a destination; it’s an experience that stays with you long after you’ve left. Whether you’re someone who loves adventure or just wants to soak in the beauty of nature, Zhangjiajie is a place that will leave you absolutely amazed.

Avatar Mountain
If you like seeing what nature can offer, you can try visiting the avatar mountain which is located in Zhangjiajie.
Very convenient as there are buses/cable cars that will take you to the place. It's a very big place where you can do both hiking and relaxing at the same time while taking buses
Food stalls are also found in almost every location so i swear you will never hungry. Prices may of course vary, so if you don't want to spend too much then you can also carry your own snacks.
1 day is not enough as the park is huge so at least 2 days should be spent or maybe 3 for this trip. Depends on how fast you walk haha But it's all worth it.

Walking through the corridor of time, encounter the retro romance of the seventy-two arcades
❗️❗️
If you have a strong interest in historical culture or want to deeply understand the historical background of Zhangjiajie, then the seventy-two arcades are definitely a place not to be missed.
However, first-time visitors are very likely to step on landmines! Personal guide to avoid pitfalls:
Before 4:30 PM, the entrance ticket is 20, and after that, the night ticket is 88, so arrive before the night session. Inside, it's not big; the first floor is basically all snack shops and stores. The taste is generally average, and there are very few local and ethnic specialties. The shopping and eating experience is quite poor.
Performance programs: The purpose of coming here is to watch the performances. From 18:00 to 22:30, there are 30 continuous performances in various venues of the arcades. The highlights not to be missed are: 18:00 'Opening Drum' at the entrance; 18:20 'Ten Miles of Foreign Market' at the Republic of China Movie Street; 19:45 'Lighting the Arcades' at the Bonfire Square; 20:35 'A Lifetime of Love' at the Bonfire Square; 21:55 'Bonfire Party' at the Bonfire Square.
Scenic spot guide: The arcades scenic area is a large night market. The lights turn on after 7 PM, and in summer, you have to wait until after 8 PM for it to be completely dark. The scenery after the lights are on is very spectacular. The night market has snack restaurants, bars, tea houses, jewelry stores, local specialties, and entertainment facilities such as photography, archery, and obstacle courses. After 7:30 PM, there are performances every half hour in the scenic area. You can see that the performances are carefully designed, not just random shows to fool tourists.
Understanding the stories behind during the day and immersing in the ethnic atmosphere at night is truly wonderful.

Because the scenery is so beautiful, the camera is too ordinary to convey its beauty
Because the scenery is so beautiful, the camera is too ordinary to convey its beauty.
Walked all day and remembered it all in my head.
Posting some pictures to prove I didn't stretch my legs. If they look long and scary, it's due to Apple's distortion.
【Ticket】$278, but you need to book in advance. The price is the same for ABC lines.
【Accommodation】You can stay near the cable car.
Due to the peak season and not booking in advance, only Line C was left.
【Line C】
Take the shuttle bus from Tianmen Mountain Cableway Company to the cableway station, then take the cableway up the mountain. After reaching the top, follow the tour map and walk the west line first, then the east line.
The must-see attractions are on the west line. Because it was all foggy the day we went, we couldn't see anything, so we only walked the west line. After reaching Tianmen Mountain Temple, we took the open-air sightseeing cable car down the mountain, which was thrilling and fun.
【Line A】You can take the cableway directly from the cableway company in the city.
Take the cableway to the top station, then take the elevator to Yunmeng Fairy Peak to start the west line (Tianmen Mountain Temple, Qiu'er Cave, all the way to the west line glass walkway → through the mountain escalator to Tianmen Cave, Tianmen Cave front square, fast cableway, eco-friendly car).
Although we didn't see anything due to the heavy fog, and Line C had some backtracking, we walked a lot, but seeing the Heavenly Ladder lights was still quite worth it. The way down the mountain.

Taking photos like this at Tianmen Mountain is so cool and fitting!
1⃣️Open the wide-angle rear camera on your phone📷, choose 0.5x zoom, reverse the phone and adjust according to the height of the person, place the person in the center of the frame to prevent distortion. If distortion persists, reduce the frame and adjust to 0.7x.
2⃣️Left hand touches the hip, as close to the waist as possible, forming a triangular composition to look slimmer
3⃣️Right hand placed in the middle parallel to the PP, arm straight to give the picture more extension
4⃣️The person taking the photo should squat slightly, tilt the phone inward at a 30-degree angle for an upward shot, the pose might look a bit strange, like proposing hahaha

2️⃣ Baofeng Waterfall
The waterfall cascades down three thousand feet, shrouded in mist, making you feel like you're in a fairyland. This is also one of the filming locations for the Water Curtain Cave in the TV series 'Journey to the West', making you feel like you've traveled back to your childhood.

2. When boating on the lake, please pay attention to safety and follow the staff's instructions.
3. The shallowest part of Baofeng Lake is about 72 meters, and the deepest part is over 140 meters. Be sure to hold your phone securely when playing on the water.
4. There is an outdoor hiking trail. If you have good stamina and the weather is good, you can climb to the top of the mountain to take panoramic photos of Baofeng Lake.

Exploring Zhangjiajie: A Journey to a Fairyland, Stunning the Soul!
As the morning light first shines and the sky is clear, Zhangjiajie greets me with its brightest demeanor. With a gentle turn of the camera, every frame is a natural masterpiece that needs no filter. But what is even more breathtaking is when, at noon, a veil-like mist quietly rises. They gracefully weave through the peaks, as if nature's most mysterious brush is sketching dreamlike fairyland scenes between heaven and earth. 🌫️✨
At that moment, I felt as if I had stepped into another dimension; the earthly fairyland was no longer an unattainable legend. Every mountain and every cloud in Zhangjiajie tells a story of a thousand years, making one slow down involuntarily to savor this gift from nature. 👣💭
If you want to avoid queuing at Tianmen Mountain during the summer vacation, I recommend staying here
Before coming, my friends told me that
during the summer vacation, you have to queue for at least three hours at Tianmen Mountain . Finally, I saw this homestay online, which said it was very close to Tianmen Mountain and had a strategy to avoid queuing.
I decisively chose it.
The owner did not disappoint us. Early in the morning, he sent us to the entrance of the Tianmen Mountain scenic area. We arrived at Tianmen Cave Square at 7:30 am and were already down the mountain by 11:45 am. During the hottest time, we were already lying in the homestay room enjoying the air conditioning .

Hunan·Zhangjiajie | This guide makes your trip a breeze!!
Many friends become more confused after reading the travel guides for Zhangjiajie😵, don't worry, just read this one and you'll be set😎! Just follow it and have fun!!!
Zhangjiajie's trip mainly consists of three parts: Zhangjiajie National Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, and Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon🎡.
Most people arrive in Zhangjiajie at noon, leaving only half a day🕛, feeling it's too late to visit any place, you can first go to Tianmen Mountain🌄. But pay attention to the time range on the ticket🎫!!
1️⃣Itinerary🗺
🏯Tianmen Mountain
Only one day is needed, there are three options for the same route: A, B, and C:
A: Take the big cable car up➕fast cable car down, downhill mode.
B: Take the fast cable car up➕big cable car down, climbing mode.
C: Take the fast cable car round trip, climb and then go down the mountain mode.
❗️Personal recommendation for A: Going downhill is more relaxed, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery, and it's not too tiring😜. On the way down, you'll hear others saying 'I chose C, I'm so tired, how much longer to finish climbing', then you'll know how wise it was to choose A😏!!!
🏯Zhangjiajie National Forest Park
Day1: East Gate→Bailong Elevator→Yuanjiajie→Yangjiajie→Tianzi Mountain→Tianzi Mountain Cableway→East Gate
Day2: East Gate→Ten-mile Gallery→Golden Whip Stream→Huangshi Village→Oxygen Bar Square→South Gate
Hiking sections🏃🏻: Ten-mile Gallery 4.5 km, Golden Whip Stream 7.5 km, Huangshi Village uphill route 3.5 km.
❗️Personal suggestions:
1. There are eco-friendly cars available at each scenic spot, mountain roads can cause motion sickness, remember to prepare motion sickness medicine💊.
2. Choose good weather, otherwise, it might be all foggy🌫️.
3. There are many monkeys on the mountain, do not carry very fragrant food, and do not wear too bright clothes, to avoid being scratched🤕.
🏯Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
Only one day is needed, there are two routes to choose from:
A route (Grand Canyon only): Visitor Center→One Line Sky→Rainbow Square→Touching Cave→Shenquan Lake Cruise🛳️→Exit
B route (Grand Canyon➕Glass Bridge): Visitor Center→Glass Bridge→Bridge East Experience Center→Glass Plank Road→Experience Projects→Rainbow Square→Touching Cave→Shenquan Lake Cruise🛳️→Exit
❗️Personal suggestions:
1. You can try the high-altitude zip line for the experience projects😎.
2. The self-paid cruise at Rainbow Square is not necessary, walk a little further and there is a free cruise to the exit of the scenic area🚢.
2️⃣Food🥙
1. Master Hu's Three Hot Pots, Old Tian's Three Hot Pots: Traditional food of Zhangjiajie, recommended with walnut meat➕pork intestine➕beef tripe🥘. Also, their lotus root slices and potato cake are delicious😋.
2. Pig Brain Cold Noodles: Recommended pig ear cold noodles🐷.
3. Berry Tea🍵: Refreshing and sweet taste, rich and lingering, slightly bitter aftertaste, not astringent at all. I really like the taste of berry tea😍!
4. Haozi Baba: Crispy on the outside and sticky on the inside, slightly numbing taste😃.
5. Xiangxi cured sausage, cured meat: Homemade by Tujia people, evenly fat and lean, the more you chew, the more fragrant it is🥩.
6. Sour Fried Fish: A dish for hosting guests in Xiangxi, crispy on the outside and tender inside🐟.
7. Black Chicken Gastrodia Soup: Made with black chicken and gastrodia, highly nutritious and tastes great👍!
3️⃣Accommodation🏠
It is recommended to choose accommodation near the places you plan to visit, no specific recommendations. You can find high-rated ones on Ctrip, and compare several options🤗.

Nightlife at the 72 Wonder Tower
🌆 It is an enchanting blend of sophistication and excitement, drawing visitors into a world of vibrant energy. The ordinary yet unique building transforms into a beacon of light at night.
✌️Ambience: We visited the place on a Friday night, and it was super crowded, creating a pulsating atmosphere. The entrance and exit are different, ensuring you can explore every corner of the place.
🤤 F&B: You have various options here, with exquisite street foods, milk tea, and more, both inside and outside the 72 Wonder Tower area.
Opening hours: 10:00 - 22:00

Changsha is really fun, I will come again next time!
Changsha is really fun, there are so many delicious foods, and the people are super nice👍
Before going: Changsha has a lot of delicious food!
After going: There are too many delicious foods, I don't want to leave... (Don't worry about eating, you basically won't step on landmines, it's just that as a northerner, my body is a bit unaccustomed)
Tea Yan Yue Se: Recommend Sheng Sheng Oolong, You Lan Latte, Matcha Grapefruit (the iced version tastes better) Whenever you see Tea Yan Yue Se in every place, you must queue up to buy it, it's really good (also, there is none in the north)
Stinky Tofu: You can try the black classic oh
You must go to Orange Island Head, it's very photogenic, it's just that there are a lot of people (you can go early in the morning)
The night view of Fenghuang Ancient City is still good, but it's too commercialized, it's basically all travel photography, but the cost-performance ratio is still okay, if you have been to Lijiang Ancient City before, then it's not highly recommended here, there's not much difference.
Zhangjiajie's Seventy-Two Wonders Building is also quite recommended You don't need to buy a night ticket, it's very nice to take photos and check in across the street!
The scenery of Tianmen Mountain is really beautiful, you must go and see it yourself, the natural wonder (recommended tourist route A line, not tiring at all, remember to make an appointment a bit earlier)
The National Forest Park is still worth a visit, to feel the magnificence of the three thousand strange peaks and rocks, after all, you have already come to Zhangjiajie, it's really big inside, saw wild monkeys🐒 very cute, recommend entering and exiting from the east gate.
By the way, for those planning to travel to Hunan, you really don't need to check the weather forecast in advance, it's really useless, even the locals don't look at it, everyone just go and have fun, it's very comfortable to stroll around on cloudy and rainy days, sunny days are actually too hot, everyone just prepare an umbrella, the rain comes fast and goes fast!
Tianmen Mountain, wow! You only know once you go there!
🚌Transportation
High-speed train: Arrive at Zhangjiajie Train Station, then take a taxi or bus to Tianmen Mountain, about 6 kilometers away.
Airplane: Fly to Zhangjiajie Hehua Airport, then take a taxi for about 15 minutes to Tianmen Mountain, about 10 kilometers away.
🏠Accommodation
It is recommended to stay in an inn near the Tianmen Mountain cableway, which is convenient for travel, or to find a hotel in the city with airport shuttle service, which is also very convenient.

🚶Tour Routes
Choose route A during the off-season
Choose route B during the peak season
Route C allows you to look down on Tianmen Mountain and the big winding road throughout the journey, with a full view, but there are repetitive routes
👉Route A:
First take the long cableway up the mountain, visit the attractions on the east or west line of the mountain top, then go down the 999 steps to Tianmen Cave, and finally take the short cableway down the mountain.
(If you want to experience the sweetness first and the bitterness later, you can try Route A.)
👉Route B:
First take the short cableway to Tianmen Cave, climb the 999 steps to the mountain top, visit the attractions on the east or west line of the mountain top, and then take the long cableway down the mountain.

Zhangjiajie Travel Guide: Summer Travel Tips Sharing
Zhangjiajie Travel Guide: Summer Travel Tips Sharing
√The five-day four-night travel strategy for Zhangjiajie is here! Follow me to unlock the correct way to explore Zhangjiajie
What comes to mind when you think of Zhangjiajie? Is it China's first national forest park - Zhangjiajie Forest Park?
Is it the world's longest high-altitude cableway - Tianmen Mountain? Or the glass bridge featured in various variety shows?
Zhangjiajie, as a tourism calling card of Hunan, has always been a hot spot among tourist attractions. It is indeed the best time to visit Zhangjiajie
Let's step into Zhangjiajie together and start a relaxing journey!
Mountains do not seek me; I seek the mountains myself
Mountains do not seek me; I seek the mountains myself. One must climb the 999 steps of Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, also known as the 'Stairway to Heaven', located within the Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park. It is the only way to reach the Tianmen Cave. With five gentle and four steep sections, it embodies the number ninety-nine, symbolizing the ups and downs of life's journey, suggesting that one can only become accomplished after overcoming numerous hardships.
Zhangjiajie Off-the-Beaten-Path Itinerary | One-Day Tour to Huangshi Village and Jinbian Stream to See Monkeys
| One-Day Tour to Huangshi Village and Jinbian Stream to See Monkeys. Are you still only aware of going to crowded places like Tianzi Mountain and Bailong Elevator when visiting Zhangjiajie‼️ There is such an off-the-beaten-path one-day tour route where you can come to see monkeys in winter and stream trace to breathe in the oxygen in summer! The key is that you don't have to squeeze with other people
We first took a bus to Huangshi Village
As soon as we entered, we could see many wild monkeys along the way that were not afraid of people, just sitting there❌ But it is not recommended to get too close or to feed them, as it is easy to get scratched
We chose to hike up the mountain and take the cable car down👇 On rainy days, the top of the mountain is all foggy and you can't see much, so it is recommended to go up the mountain on a sunny day / Climbing the whole way takes about 3 hours to reach the top💰 The cable car down the mountain costs 65 per person and takes just over a dozen minutes to arrive
After coming down the mountain, we headed straight for Jinbian Stream
This place is really the most stunning spot along the way / The footpath along the stream is so comfortable to walk‼️ It's also great to stream trace here in summer / The mountain scenery on both sides is also very spectacular, lush and pleasing to the eye
There are very few tour groups that walk along Jinbian Stream, so it's also much quieter / The whole journey takes about 2 hours to walk
However, be sure to pay attention to safety‼️ There are relatively more wild animals here / And you need to bring enough supplies as there are not many supply points and restrooms along the way
The exit is directly at the south gate of the forest park👀 There are many food shops, and the minibus back to the landmark gate is also nearby
