📍Yulong Snow Mountain
🏔️How to get to Yulong Snow Mountain?
There are several ways to get there from Lijiang Old Town. You can join a one-day tour, which is convenient and includes pick-up and drop-off services. You can also hire a car or take a bus.
🏔️How to buy tickets?
Tickets for Yulong Snow Mountain can be booked online in advance or purchased at the entrance of the scenic area. However, it is important to book in advance to avoid disappointment. The ticket includes cable car and scenic bus tickets.
🏔️What to wear?
It is cold on the mountain, so be sure to bring warm clothes, such as a down jacket or windbreaker. It is also recommended to bring a hat, scarf, and gloves to avoid getting too cold. Wear comfortable shoes as you will be walking a lot.
🏔️When is the best time to go?
I think it is best to go in the morning or at noon, as the light is better and the photos will be more beautiful. There are also fewer people in the morning, so you can avoid the crowds.
🏔️Recommended photo spots:
👉Cable car: You can take photos of the scenery outside the window while riding the cable car. It is very beautiful.
👉Mountaintop: Be sure to take a photo at the top of the mountain with the magnificent snow mountain in the background. It looks good no matter how you take it.

Kayaking Adventure at Lashihai: Battling Winds and Making Memories in Lijiang
#kayak #lijiang #china #lashihai
One of the must-do activities in Lijiang is kayaking at Lashihai. We joined a local day tour that included horseback riding along the historic path, followed by kayaking at Lashihai. As someone who loves kayaking, I was excited, but the wind that day was exceptionally strong. Controlling the paddle became a challenge, and the wind pushed our kayak further and further away. No matter how hard I paddled, I found myself spinning in circles, unable to make any progress. It wasn’t until a staff member came to help that I finally managed to paddle back to the shore. It was a truly unforgettable experience. Despite Lashihai being a wetland park rather than a sea, making it feel more like kayaking on a lake, the outing was still enjoyable. Though the water wasn’t particularly clean, kayaking with a group of friends made it a memorable and fun adventure.
Is it possible that there are still people who haven't been to the 'Burning Man Carnival' in Lijiang?
Coming back from a trip to Lijiang, it was indeed an unforgettable journey. The various sceneries in Lijiang are truly healing, and the authentic Yunnan cuisine was very satisfying 😋. You can basically find all the travel guides for Lijiang online, but this time we participated in the Burning Man Carnival at the Lijiang Ancient Love Scenic Area. How could the sisters who have been there before keep such a tight lip! The Burning Man Carnival is really worth checking out!
The Burning Man Carnival at the Ancient Love Scenic Area is only available from the Mid-Autumn Festival to the National Day, so if you are planning a trip to Lijiang soon, you can include this in your itinerary 📒.
This time's Burning Man Carnival had many outdoor scenes, such as iron flower forging, the fire worship and moon worship ceremony, fire pots, and the grand fire phoenix performances. It was totally worth it~ And the atmosphere on-site is completely different; I felt that everyone's mood was as excited as the flames 💥.
The bonfire party at night was also very atmospheric. Everyone sang and danced around the bonfire, dancing with the fire. It was really worth remembering!
The best mushroom hotpot I had in Lijiang!
When you come to Baisha Ancient Town in Lijiang, the happiest thing is to eat a delicious wild mushroom hotpot while looking at the scenery of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain!!
There are more than a dozen kinds of mushrooms on the platter! There are many types, and the mushrooms are all wild and very fresh!! The high mountain chicken nourishing soup is very nutritious, drink a bowl of chicken soup first!! Then put in wild mushrooms, there are chicken velvet mushrooms, boletus, deer velvet mushrooms, chicken oil mushrooms... you can eat it after boiling for more than ten minutes!! It's so fresh that it's amazing!!!
The environment of Qianjunge is very Lijiang, antique, you can see the snow mountain on the second floor, and you can also see the blue sky, it is really comfortable!
While eating the delicious wild mushroom hotpot, I looked at the snow mountain outside the window. It was so worth it to eat this mushroom hotpot at Qianjunge!!!
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain!!
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is located in Lijiang, Yunnan Province. It is the mountain range closest to the equator in the northern hemisphere with year-round snow. It is located across the river from Zhongdian Snow Mountain and Mianmian Mountain, and extends from the mouth of the three rivers to the north latitude 27°, like a fan facing the ancient city. The 13 peaks of the entire mountain are arranged from south to north, and the highest point of the main peak, Fanzi Dou, is 5,596 meters above sea level. It is covered with snow all year round, and the snow line height is between 4,800 and 5,000 meters. It has developed the temperate maritime glacier closest to the equator in Eurasia.
Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is called "Oulu" in Naxi language, which means "Tianshan". Its thirteen snow peaks are continuous, like a "giant dragon" flying and flying, so it is called "Jade Dragon". Because its lithology is mainly limestone and basalt, it is black and white, so it is also called "Black and White Snow Mountain". It is the sacred mountain of the Naxi people, and it is said to be the incarnation of the Naxi guardian god "Sanduo".
In 1984, the Yunnan Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Provincial Nature Reserve was established. In 2001, Jade Dragon Snow Mountain was rated as a 4A tourist attraction, and in May 2007 it became the first batch of 5A tourist attractions in the country.
The entrance fee for Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area (valid for one day) is 100 yuan for the mountain; 40 yuan for the Yunsongping cable car; 45 yuan for the Yak Meadow cable car; 20 yuan for the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain Scenic Area tourist dedicated line eco-car.
The opening hours of the scenic spot are 07:30-16:30 (Monday-Sunday from January 1st to December 31st). The specific opening hours may be adjusted irregularly according to the flow of people in the scenic spot. It is recommended to pay attention to the scenic spot announcement in advance.
When playing in Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, you need to pay attention to the following points:
- Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is at a high altitude and may cause altitude sickness. It is recommended to take preventive measures in advance, such as taking anti-altitude sickness drugs in advance and avoiding strenuous exercise.
- The weather on the mountain is changeable, it is recommended to bring warm clothes and rain gear.

- Respect local religious and cultural customs and abide by the regulations of the scenic spot.

Lijiang Hidden Tourist Spot | Yuhu Village
Yuhu Village, a piece of pure land in Lijiang, still retains its original appearance. The elderly ladies passing by, the whole village is full of stone houses, with a bit of European town style.
Yuhu Village is located at the foot of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, and you can see the snow mountain from any angle when the weather is good. Be careful if you are afraid of altitude sickness ⚠️.
It was a bit cold when we went, and the wind was particularly strong there, scaring the three of us into hiding in a coffee shop, not daring to come out. We found a very unique coffee shop called Pushi Coffee. It is very distinctive, with colorful glass refracting sunlight, creating a very dreamy effect.
Due to limited time, we only walked a small part of the way. There is a very photogenic lake further into the village, and you can also experience horseback riding. Let's leave some regrets for the next time.
Lazy Person's Guide to Visiting Blue Moon Valley Without Climbing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
Lazy Person's Guide to Visiting Blue Moon Valley Without Climbing Jade Dragon Snow Mountain
I live in Lijiang Ancient Town, it takes about 40 minutes by taxi to get to Blue Moon Valley, costing about 80 yuan for a distance of around 30 kilometers
It might be the off-season, no need to queue for tickets, the entrance fee to the scenic area is 100 yuan per person (whether you go to the snow mountain or not) Big cable car: 140 yuan Small cable car: 60 yuan
The scenery of Blue Moon Valley changes with the sunlight. When I arrived, there was a little rain, and the lake seemed rather dull. But then the sun came out, and the scenery was completely different. Check the weather forecast before you go
I encountered at least 10 couples taking wedding photos that day, it's indeed a great spot for photography. There are also Dai ethnic costumes for rent in the scenic area, Costume + Makeup + Photography = 268 yuan, depending on personal preference, but actually, just taking random photos is nice
The cost of living in the scenic area, a beef skewer costs 10 or 15 yuan, and it's really delicious, even better than the Tibetan specialty restaurant we specifically chose, recommended!
The altitude is around 3000 meters, I didn't have much of an altitude sickness reaction, it depends on physical fitness. I had a cold that day and still felt okay, oxygen bottles are 20 yuan each, and you can carry them with you
Indeed a paradise on earth
National Geographic didn't deceive me about the snow-capped mountains of Baisha Ancient Town
During the break of our wedding photo shoot, I took my aunt's car to Baisha, with the first stop being a temple chosen by my aunt.
We visited the Fuguo Temple at the foot of the Yulong Snow Mountain in Lijiang. The Lijiang Fuguo Temple was founded in the 29th year of the Wanli era of the Ming Dynasty and was originally the family temple of the Mu clan chieftains. The temple was initially named 'Jietuo Lin' and later granted the name 'Fuguo Temple' by Emperor Xizong of Ming. It is the mother temple of the five major temples in Lijiang.
After descending the mountain, we stayed at the Baisha Muyun Mountain Villa, which is only a five-minute walk from Baisha Ancient Town. The large bed faced the snow mountain, offering a direct view of the beautiful scenery.
(After a five-minute omission) I walked to Baisha Ancient Town. To be honest, it is still a commercial street, but within this commercial area, you can still vaguely see some locals doing business, and the streets are lined with many interesting shops.
The pedestrians on the street were strolling leisurely (perhaps because the cobblestone roads are hard to navigate), in the courtyards, the elders who are the bearers of intangible cultural heritage were swinging the hammers of Thor, and everywhere you could see tourists taking photos (including myself). The shop of the Mantou Poet had a long queue in front, and in Zhang San's grocery store, they weren't playing Zhang San's songs. I spent a long time watching the tie-dye craftsmanship hidden in the antique shop. Upstairs at 7sea, a beauty was constantly changing poses, and the guy selling canned milk tea downstairs was enjoying the view, whispering to me with a smile, 'Bro, if you came earlier, you could have helped me take a photo of the beauty.'
I had some snacks along the way. The auntie selling grilled milk fans next to Yunwei Collection said the old lady didn't look good on camera, and the owner of Chen's Baisha Flavor Restaurant wanted to give a discount, but I had already paid the bill. He offered two bottles of coconut juice, which I've been drinking since I was a child. Now I'm back to sleep and watch the sunrise over the Golden Mountain‼️‼️‼️
I checked for the sunrise at seven o'clock and set an alarm for six fifty, just perfect. I love Baisha, and Baisha loves me. When I got up, I saw the sunrise over the Golden Mountain, a perfect score of 💯
I took a video of the sunrise over the Golden Mountain for my wife, and then we both ran out to have breakfast.
For breakfast, I tried the Mantou Poet's steamed buns and mushroom meat buns, which were artistic yet a bit greasy, with huge rose-shaped buns packed in small cloth bags, definitely a carb-loaded breakfast. I didn't finish the buns and ran to try the Naxi specialty hot pot!
📍Baisha Snack Street Naxi Specialty Hot Pot
I must recommend it, it's really delicious. I ordered a Naxi hot pot rice noodle and a free-range chicken rice noodle, both were great. It turns out there really is free-range chicken in the chicken rice noodle, and halfway through, the guy gave me an egg, saying it was definitely a free-range chicken egg, adding to the meal.

Lashi Lake and the Ancient Tea Horse Road in Lijiang
Lijiang, Yunnan, a place filled with romance and mystery, where every piece of scenery seems to be a masterpiece of nature, leaving visitors enchanted. Among the many attractions in Lijiang, Lashi Lake Scenic Area stands out as a dazzling gem, shining with captivating brilliance.
Lashi Lake, located about 10 kilometers west of Lijiang city in the middle of Lashi Dam, is not only the first nature reserve in Yunnan Province named after a 'wetland,' but also a place full of legendary charm. The name 'Lashi,' derived from ancient Naxi language, means 'new barren dam.' It was once part of the ancient geosyncline in northwest Yunnan and, after billions of years of geological movements, has formed the current highland basin. At the center of this basin lies a clear lake, vast and boundless, with an altitude of 2,437 meters, offering a breathtaking beauty.
In this inland province of Yunnan, such a large lake is affectionately called 'sea' by the locals, hence the name Lashi Lake. It is not only a place of natural beauty but also rich in cultural history. One of the main attractions for visitors here is the horseback riding experience on the Ancient Tea Horse Road. This ancient trade route witnessed the hardships and legends of countless caravans. Today, visitors can retrace this ancient path, riding horses through the mountains and forests, experiencing the culture of the caravans. The rugged mountain roads and the careful steps of the horses make every slip and misstep a thrilling experience, allowing visitors to deeply appreciate the resilience and perseverance of the caravan people.
Besides horseback riding, the unique landscape of Lashi Lake Wetland Park is another highlight. Within the park, large swathes of reeds sway in the wind, aquatic plants grow abundantly, and the vast marshlands create a unique lake and wetland scenery. Here, visitors can fully enjoy the beautiful landscape of lakes and mountains, feeling the magical charm of nature. During the bird-watching season, it becomes an important habitat for many migratory birds, such as black-necked cranes, egrets, and herons, providing a visual and spiritual feast for visitors.
On this beautiful land, there is also a hidden and stylish club—the Youyiju Private Club. Located in the picturesque Shuhe Ancient Town of Lijiang, this club covers a large area and is renovated from three connected Naxi houses. The club is well-equipped, including uniquely designed guest rooms, a self-service kitchen, a restaurant, a tea bar, a book bar, a wine cellar, a spa, and a home theater, providing a comfortable and leisurely space for visitors. Here, visitors can escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy a rare moment of tranquility and comfort.
Of course, a visit to Lashi Lake Scenic Area would not be complete without experiencing the unique 'lake porridge sharing.' In the lakeside restaurants, visitors can taste delicious porridge made from local specialty ingredients. Yulong Snow Mountain or Jade Dragon Snow Mountain!!
Yulong Snow Mountain or Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a tourist attraction in Lijiang. It's not far from the old town area, about an hour's journey. It is recommended to buy a day trip because the tickets are quite difficult to get and are limited in number per day.
💴 We got it for 600 yuan per person, including the show ticket and hotel shuttle service. The price varies depending on the provider or the time.
During the month of April when we went, there was still a lot of snow. The weather on top of the mountain was cold and windy, but at the bottom, where the show was in the afternoon, it was very sunny and hot. If you come during this period, it is recommended to watch the show from the morning.
It is a tourist destination that if you come to Lijiang, we recommend visiting. It's really beautiful and truly deserves its AAAAA rating.
Yunnan, do you admit its charm?

Shuanglang: There are many popular seaside rooms, but they are far from other attractions, suitable for friends who rent a car.
Lugu Lake: For lively atmosphere, stay in Daluoshui; for quietness, stay on Lige Peninsula.
Shangri-La: Staying in the ancient town is more convenient.

❼ Wild Elephant Valley: The only place in the country to observe wild elephants, depending on luck to encounter them.
Life advice: come to this ancient town under the snow mountain in Lijiang before you go!
This trip to Baisha Ancient Town really gave me a lot of surprises,
unlike the crowds and bustle of Lijiang Ancient Town,
this place still retains the simplicity of Lijiang.
If you don't want to work anymore, just come and stay in Baisha for a few days
.
Find a cafe, and when you look up, you can see the snow mountain~
Little dogs and cats frolic, and the old grandma strolls leisurely,
You can walk along the stone road,
The sun shines on the eaves, and it warms your heart~
.
☁️【 How to get there 】🚗
🔸Self-drive or taxi: Depart from Lijiang Ancient Town, navigate directly to Baisha Ancient Town, there is a parking lot at the entrance, about 20 minutes to arrive
🔸Public transportation:
❶Take bus No. 6 in Lijiang Ancient Town and get off at "Baisha Township", every 50 minutes, the fare is 2r
❷Take the "Baisha Ancient Town Tourist Special Line", every 20 minutes, the fare is 5r
.
☁️【 Suitable photo spots 】📸

.
☁️【 Must-try delicacies 】🫕
1⃣️Mantou Poet
A poet's steamed bun shop, "left hand steamed bun, right hand poetry" is his motto. The flower steamed bun is super large, and biting into it gives a full sense of happiness.
2⃣️Ke Bu Ke Song
An inconspicuous little shop, a dazzling array of freshly baked croissants, recommend the coconut taro and pistachio flavors~
3⃣️Naxi Pure Mixed Pot
A shop opened by a couple, the pig's trotters are very tender, and the pot base has pumpkin, beans, potatoes, and various mixed vegetables, you can eat very full for an average of 30+
4⃣️Chicken Bean Jelly
First fried in oil then mixed with seasoning, tender and smooth, not to be missed in Baisha
.
☁️【 Where to stay 】🏡
Now it's the off-season for tourism, and the accommodation prices are very beautiful. You can stay in a nice inn in Baisha for 100+. You can also stay outside the north gate of Lijiang Ancient Town, where there are even inns for 60+.
If you have a lot of luggage, it is not recommended to stay inside the ancient town, as the stone roads are hard to drag luggage on. It gets very cold at night, make sure the room has heating equipment❗️

Yak Meadow: A Majestic Tapestry of Solitude
On the ordinary yet special day of May 14, 2024, I embarked on a journey to Yak Meadow, in search of that mysterious and magnificent slice of heaven and earth.
Following the winding mountain road, I slowly ascended, with the scenery gradually changing, as if nature was slowly lifting its veil of mystery. When I finally arrived at Yak Meadow, I was deeply moved by the sight before me.
A vast expanse of alpine meadow stretched out beneath my feet, like a huge green velvet carpet. Dotted with yaks, some leisurely grazing, others lying quietly, their black silhouettes against the green grass created a striking contrast, adding a unique vitality to the land.
Looking up, the distant mountains rose and fell in succession, shrouded in mist, appearing and disappearing, dreamlike and ethereal. The sky was as blue as a gemstone, with white clouds so close it seemed you could touch them. They changed shapes, bringing endless imagination to this world.
Walking on Yak Meadow, the grass underfoot was soft and springy, as if walking on cotton. A gentle breeze, carrying the scent of grass and the warmth of the sun, made one feel utterly content. Here, there was none of the noise and bustle of the city, only the pure tranquility and the sounds of nature.
The beauty of Yak Meadow is that of uncarved natural splendor; everything is so simple and real. Each blade of grass, each flower, each stone has its own story. They quietly tell of the passage of time and the power of nature.
I sat quietly on the grass, watching the yaks roam freely, feeling the breath of the land. Time seemed to stand still here, and everything became so slow and beautiful. I was immersed in this peaceful atmosphere, and my soul was greatly relaxed and nourished.
Here, humans and nature coexist harmoniously, together forming a majestic tapestry. Yak Meadow is like a forgotten world, solitary yet full of charm. When leaving, my heart was filled with reluctance. I knew that the beauty of Yak Meadow had been deeply etched in my heart, becoming an eternal landscape in my memory.
Yak Meadow, this magical land, awaits more people to unveil its mystery and experience its unique charm. If you also love nature and long for a tranquil and magnificent sanctuary, then do not miss Yak Meadow. Let us pursue that peace and beauty that belongs to us on this land.
