I went to "PANORAMA TERRACE 1059" at Jukoku Pass, which reopened in August 2022. Sounzan Station is the transfer station for the Hakone Cable Car and Hakone Ropeway. As the name suggests, there is a high chance of being surrounded by fluffy clouds. It's especially fantastical in the early morning. The foot bath on the observation terrace on the second floor is worth waiting in line for. The breathtaking view and warm water will make your feet feel fluffy. They also sell hand towels, but there are times when the Kuumo Terrace is closed, so if you don't have a towel, stop by the shop on the first floor to check. Sounzan Station is the stopover point for the Hakone Tozan Cable Car and the Hakone Ropeway. It is more spacious than other stations. The parking lot is free! There are lockers, so it is the perfect stopover point for your trip. Of course, there are also plenty of souvenir shops. We also recommend eating in the parking lot or on the terrace. The bronze statue of the maiden is "Young Girl" (1972) by Genki Entsuba, installed by the Hakone Open-Air Museum. Eel, Unagi, U-N-A-G-I! On the way back from our trip to Hakone, we decided to indulge in some delicious eel! Thanks to a coupon, we went all out and ordered a feast! Haha. At Hyorokutei, their famous eel clay pot rice is a must-try, so we chose that. The generous portion of eel really got us excited! It was perfectly grilled, aromatic, and absolutely delicious 😋. Compared to the usual eel rice bowls, which sometimes feel a bit lacking, this dish was incredibly satisfying! If you ever get the chance, you should definitely visit! The restaurant is located inside Fujiya Ryokan, so you can also enjoy the charming and traditional atmosphere around the inn. On the way back, we even went orange picking 🍊 for dessert! Haha. And with that, our Hakone and Yugawara trip comes to an end! What a luxurious journey!
