OSH BAZAAR IN BISHKEK
Osh Bazaar in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
Bazaars are always will be the heart of every city in Central Asia. They pump life into the city with their loud and chaotic nature. Since the Silk Road era, bazaars was the windows into globalisation and a meeting point between east and west, shaping the paths of civilisation across the world.
If you want to experience a true spirit of Central Asia, the bazaars are definitely a better cultural representative than any region’s UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITES 😬
This picture was in my Instagram drafts for almost 3 years … since Instagram might delete inactive account so here I am … posting
PS: Is it just me or your travel thrills start to kick in once you finished your flight check in and dropped your luggage at the airport… it came with the sense of relief and eagerness for an escape at the same time … no?
3000m abov
3000m above sea level. Horseback riding in the snowy mountains with a spectacular view.
I went horseback riding in Bozsarkun near Bokonbayeva village in Kyrgyzstan.
This was also arranged through the local CBT.
We loaded the horses into the car and drove up the mountain, then started riding from there.
It took about two hours to reach the spectacular view, and we took a lunch break there.
I still can't forget the panoramic view.
The horses were so cute, and I was sad to say goodbye at the end.
I feel like I want to enjoy the great nature of Kyrgyzstan in the summer next time.

Song-Kol Lake - A Pastoral Lake Where You Can See the Milky Way
Song-Kol Lake has been trending lately, but I’m hesitant to recommend it for one reason: it’s far. Located over 300 km from the capital Bishkek, the drive takes more than 5 hours, and it’s off the main Issyk-Kul loop, requiring a dedicated two-day trip.
But it’s breathtakingly beautiful—like stepping into a painting.
- Altitude: 3,016 meters, with pristine mountain air
- Overlook endless grasslands dotted with yurt camps
- Bonfire sunsets and lakeside dawns create dreamy hues
- Horseback riding, swimming, waterfall adventures...
If you’re planning a short trip from Bishkek, here’s a guide to save:
**Day 1**
- 06:30 Depart from Bishkek
- Pass through Orto-Tokoy and Kalmak-Ashu Pass
- Enjoy lunch at a yurt camp
- Afternoon beach stroll
- Evening bonfire gathering
**Day 2**
- Embrace the tranquility and vastness at lakeside sunrise
- Leisurely horseback ride by the lake
- After lunch, depart and visit the 33 Waterfalls en route
- Return to Bishkek by 20:30
**Packing List:**
- Warm clothing
- Rain gear
- Comfortable hiking shoes
- Swimwear
- Portable snacks
- Drinking water
- Power bank

Kyrgyzstan | Falconry Show: A Woman's Attempt to Tame a Golden Eagle
| Falconry Show: A Woman's Attempt to Tame a Golden Eagle. 🦅eagle hunting 🦅
A woman's attempt to tame a golden eagle
Ended up too weak to even lift an eagle with one hand
Felt like this golden eagle weighed more than our family's Corgi
Most falconry performances in Kyrgyzstan are near Bökönbaev
Golden eagles are the pinnacle of falconry
Unlike the falcons of Middle Eastern sheikhs
Golden eagles can only be captured from the wild and trained from a young age
Requires constant hunting practice to prevent their wild instincts from fading
This trip included a visit to Aitoo's Home to see the golden eagles
Aitoo is one of the few remaining golden eagle hunters
Best to call ahead for an appointment in case Aitoo isn't home
The couple speaks English, so communication isn't an issue
We walked in directly and got lucky—he happened to be home
No fixed pricing online
Three families (six people) watched the eagle hunting that day
Each family was charged 3,500 KGS
Seems like the rate is 3,500 KGS per family regardless of group size
Their yurt accommodations and meals are much cheaper than the falconry show
Aitoo's Home address details on P12
The location is quite remote, with no public transport—best suited for self-driving

Kyrgyzstan's capital 🇰🇬 travel notes🚩
📍The capital of Kyrgyzstan: Bishkek🕊️
Transportation guide 🚌 Most attractions can be reached on foot or by taxi, the price is very cheap (about 1-2 US dollars)
Local attractions 🏜️
Ala-Archa National Park 🏞️
Located at an altitude of 1500-4895 meters, 41 kilometers from Bishkek, it covers an area of about 20 hectares and includes all landscapes and climatic zones. A river of the same name flows through the canyon. The park has beautiful scenery and rich flora and fauna, making it suitable for hiking, recreation and leisure all year round.
Gapar Aitiyev Art Museum🗺️
Founded on January 1, 1935. Its basis is composed of 72 works by Russian artists received by the State Tretyakov Gallery and the Hermitage. But most importantly, the museum covers the works of Kyrgyz artists and sculptors from both the Soviet era and the present, as well as decorative and applied art by the Kyrgyz people.
Hotel 🏢Evropa Hotel, high CP value, comfortable rooms, hotel staff are very enthusiastic to help guests, provide airport transfer and currency conversion services 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Kyrgyzstan Karakol Restaurant 💛
#AprilTravelSupport
If you are traveling to Kyrgyzstan,
Visit in Karakol 😆
It is a restaurant with a traditional atmosphere,
and you can hear various local dishes and traditional musical instruments!!
The main menu, shashlik, was so delicious because the meat was soft, and there was a small square-shaped bread called bulsok, which was chewy and just my style 👍🏻
I was worried because the food was unfamiliar, but contrary to my worries, it was all delicious!

A small mountain town that even the locals have forgotten
#MarchGoodPlaces2025
Walking west from #Karakol in #Kyrgyzstan for two hours along the mountain road, you will reach a small mountain town called Jyrgalan.
We asked at the bus station in Karakol if there was a bus to this place.
Even the bus drivers forgot about this place.
They said they didn't know there was such a place and there were no buses going there.
It took me more than an hour to find a driver and find out how to get there.
You can hire his car, it's not expensive, about HK$200.
This mountain town is being developed into a new ski resort.
So a five-star resort is being built on the top of the mountain.
Summer is a green hillside.
You can hike, ride horses, and have a picnic on the grass.
Although it is not a tourist hotspot yet, it is still worth a visit!

A rest stop on the way from Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan to Cholpon-Ata
I stopped by because I needed a break,
but I found such a beautiful view 💛
The open landscape is so healing and you can take a great photo👍🏻
If you are driving from Bishkek to Cholpon-Ata
Please stop by once ㅎㅎ

Recommended souvenirs to buy when traveling to Kyrgyzstan💛
#AprilTravelSupport
If you travel to Kyrgyzstan,
I recommend you buy white honey and cognac 💛
White honey is honey that grows in mountainous areas,
and it is said to have many good ingredients because it does not contain sugar and is not heat-treated!
It is also rare, so it is a great gift 👍🏻
I spread it on bread and it was so delicious 😆
Next is cognac, which is famous for its cost-effectiveness,
and the cognac in Kyrgyzstan in the photo is said to be delicious,
so if you find it, buy it ✔️
I went to the large mart nearby,
but almost all of the products are available at other marts!

I found paradise in Kyrgyzstan
#MarchGoodPlaces2025
#Altyn #Arashan in #Kyrgyzstan Altai Arashan is located in a high mountain canyon at an altitude of 3,000 meters and is the most popular scenic spot in #Karakol #karakol.
You can hike into the mountain in 5 hours, and anyone with outdoor experience can easily reach it. There were no supplies along the way. The climate in the plateau changes quickly, so bring a raincoat, umbrella and jacket.
Don't worry about accommodation, there are many yurts, there will be a place to stay even in the peak season, and the hosts can speak some English so communication is not a problem. I bargained down the price from 1500 som per person to 1400, including dinner and breakfast. There are 5 people in a room, and if there are fewer guests, they can stay alone. The quilt was thick and I didn't feel cold. Dinner includes a small plate of pilaf, a bowl of noodle soup and a small plate of salad. It is enough to fill you up. Hot tea and hot water are provided.
Natural hot springs: Not every hotel has them, but the ones at the innermost ones have them. Even if you don't live there, you can still pay to take a bath in a small house. It costs 250 soms per person, and renting a towel is 100 soms for 30 minutes. The conditions are simple but the water temperature is quite high. It is the best way to relax after hiking.

A Bishkek City Tour 🇰🇬
From Ala-Too Square located in the center of the city,
You can see the General Manas Monument,
The White House, the presidential palace of Kyrgyzstan,
The National Assembly Building, the Lenin Statue, and the government building.
When the weather is sunny, the blue sky and the buildings blend well together,
It's so beautiful ✨

If you come to Kyrgyzstan, you must eat 's shashlik❤️
#AprilTravelSupport
If you come to Kyrgyzstan, try the shashlik at the restaurant in Bishkek ❤️
Shashlik is a popular meat skewer in Kyrgyzstan, and it is a must-eat food when you travel!
We ordered a mixed shashlik with various kinds of meat such as lamb, chicken, etc., and the meat was so soft and delicious 😆
We also ate a noodle dish called lagman,
and it was a new taste, so it was interesting, but those who like spices will love it!

Crossing the border from Kazakhstan to Kyrgyzstan is a must-do when traveling to Central Asia 👍🏻
#AprilTravelSupport
If you are planning a trip to Central Asia,
Try visiting Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan together 👍🏻
The two countries are adjacent, so you can cross the border by car!!
You can have such a new experience, and the scenery in both countries is so beautiful, so I highly recommend visiting them ✔️

Kyrgyzstan's Most Sacred Secret
#MarchGoodPlaces2025
#SongKul #SongKul is a magnificent natural landscape located high in the #Tien Shan mountain range in #Kyrgyzstan.
In summer, the lake is clear blue and sparkles under the clear sky. The grass by the lake is full of colorful wild flowers, forming a beautiful picture.
Nomadic yurts are dotted along the lakeshore, while cattle, sheep and horses graze leisurely by the lake, adding to the tranquil and peaceful atmosphere. The tranquility of Songkul Lake contrasts with the majestic mountain backdrop, showcasing the unique charm of Kyrgyzstan's pristine nature.
It is only open in summer. In winter, it is not suitable to visit because of the heavy snow. Although it is summer, you still need to keep warm. Because although the sun is strong, there are gusts of cold wind.
You can choose to ride a horse into the lake, which takes about 6 hours. You can contact the yurt owner to take you in!
The yurts are heated by firewood at night and do not have bathrooms. You can hike, ride horses, swim in the lake, and watch the stars at night.

A Magical Autumn Journey Through Kazakhstan & Kyrgyzstan
For 10 unforgettable days, I wandered through the golden landscapes of Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan with my 5-year-old daughter by my side. Autumn had painted everything in shades of amber and gold, turning every path, mountain, and lake into a scene straight out of a storybook.
We ran through open meadows, her tiny hand gripping mine as leaves crunched beneath our feet. She laughed as the wind caught her hair, and I smiled, realizing how rare and precious these moments were. We marveled at crystal-clear lakes reflecting the fiery colors of fall and sat quietly under towering trees, watching the world slow down just for us.
This wasn’t just a trip—it was magic. A time when the beauty of nature and the simple joy of being together made the world feel warmer, brighter, and full of wonder.

Experiencing yurt 🛖🤯
Want an unusual celebration of your birthday or other important event?
Here is my recommendation! I tried it in Kyrgyzstan.
You need to book staying in yurt and enjoy this experience! This is something new, for sure.
💞Reasons to Recommend: unity with the nature and locals and their way of living, staying by the mountains area is perfect for the scenery and fresh air, the FOOD is amazing: local home made food just in on of the yurts designed for the kitchen.
Must try experience for celebration!

Fairy Tale Canyon
Location: Located on the southern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in Kyrgyzstan, a 2-hour drive from the southern bus station of Karakol.
Geological landforms: The canyon features a variety of geological landforms, including colorful Danxia landforms, earth forests, and stone forests. The colors on the cliffs are as enchanting as a fairy tale world.
Travel tips: Open maps.me, first go to the High viewpoint of layered rocks & hills, and return after seeing the "Cockscomb Rock." Then climb to the Low viewpoint. Those with good skills can go directly down the steep slope to the bottom of the valley, or return to the bottom of the valley and go to the best viewing point between the earth forest and Danxia landform area along the path.
