It's so worth it!
🍃🏡Cave homestay, find that peace in your heart🏞️
🌸In this fast-paced era, everyone longs to find a place of peace that belongs to them. And I recently discovered a treasure in the mountains - the cave homestay.
🏡As soon as you walk into the cave, it's as if you've entered a world isolated from the world. Surrounded by green trees and mountains, the air is filled with the fresh breath of nature. The interior of the cave is decorated in a simple and warm style, and every corner reveals a primitive and pure beauty.
🌙At night, sitting in the courtyard, looking up at the stars in the sky, listening to the sound of insects and the wind, it seems that time has slowed down. At that moment, all the troubles and pressures disappeared, leaving only inner peace and tranquility.
🍵Here, you can taste authentic farmhouse dishes and feel the simplicity and enthusiasm of the countryside. You can sit around the fire pit with your friends, chat, sing, play games, and enjoy that rare relaxation and freedom.
💖If you, like me, long to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and find a place of peace that belongs to you, then why not come and experience the cave homestay. Believe me, it will bring you unexpected surprises and touches.

Yan'an Baota District Shijing.
Yan'an is a familiar place name, and I have always wanted to visit it. Driving on the road to Yan'an, the mountains and fields are clear and quiet, and the climate is pleasant in mid-autumn. Occasionally, I saw a memorial archway on the side of the road and stopped to browse. The memorial archway looks very new, with four pillars and three doors, all stone structure, with stone lions on both sides, and dragons and flowers carved on the memorial archway. The plaque reads "Maojia Ancient Village", and the couplet is profound, "Blessings are thicker because of the earth, and virtue is boundless with the earth". Behind the memorial archway is a mountain ridge shaped like a fish's back, called Wanhua Fruit Mountain, and there is a small temple on the top of the mountain. Standing on the top of the mountain and looking around, the green mountains and green waters, cave dwellings and terraces show the beauty of ordinary, natural and harmonious. This place belongs to Wanhua Mountain Town, Baota District, Yan'an City, about 10 kilometers southwest of Yan'an City.
After arriving in Yan'an, the inherent imaginary scene in my mind suddenly disappeared. Today's Yan'an is a modern city with high-rise buildings, streets and cars, and bustling shopping malls. At night, the city is brightly lit, Baota Mountain is full of red light, setting off the bright pagoda, and the Yanhe River reflects the lights on the shore, flickering. The food street is full of fragrance, the merchants are enthusiastic about attracting customers, and the diners are feasting, lively and lively.
Shaanxi, Yan'an | So this is what fall looks like.
| So this is what fall looks like.
📍 Wangjiaping is located in the northwest of Yan'an City, across the Yan River from Yan'an City. It is surrounded by mountains and rivers and was once an important command center and rear base for the Chinese People's Revolutionary Military Struggle.
The former site of the Eighth Route Army Headquarters is divided into two courtyards by a ditch, with the General Staff Department on the left and the General Political Department on the right. Leaders such as Mao Zedong, Zhu De, Peng Dehuai, Ye Jianying, Wang Jiaxiang, and comrades in charge of the Central Military Commission and the Eighth Route Army Headquarters once lived here.
🌟 In addition to learning about history and conducting patriotic education, visiting the former site also provides an opportunity to learn about the architectural features of the northwest. It is recommended to visit in the fall to experience the beauty of the golden fall in the courtyard.
❤ For people from the south, the golden fall is irresistible. There is almost no fall in the south, and fall is such a beautiful color!

A must-see in Yan'an, the Red Show is a sea of Chinese red.
The performance cleverly uses montage techniques to interweave different historical scenes. The creation of the concept of two layers of space above and below the ground forms a strong visual conflict. The "Z"-shaped stage divides the geometric space, like a historical picture scroll slowly unfolding. The use of equipment such as the Weiya track and lifting device and large projection allows the audience to shuttle through the time and space tunnel, sometimes in the difficult journey of the Red Army's Long March, sometimes in the art palace of Yan'an Lu Yi, and sometimes witnessing the fierce battle of the Red Twenty-Six Army.
The light is like the brushwork of history, or bright red like blood, writing the cruelty of war; or warm as the sun, illuminating the road of hope. The characters are vivid, the female college students cherish revolutionary ideals, and bloom youthful brilliance on the land of Yan'an; the Red Army soldiers are determined and brave, and use their lives to cast faith. Love, against the background of revolution, is like a blooming flower, beautiful and firm. In the war scene, the music is passionate, the rhythm is tense, as if you can hear the shouts in the gunfire, and feel the great spirit of the ancestors for national independence and national liberation.
Visit the Yan'an Revolutionary Memorial Hall to see the white horse that Chairman Mao once rode.
Each exhibit tells the story of the past, and each photo reflects the firm belief of the revolutionary predecessors. The sun shines through the window on the old relics, reflecting the halo of the years. Here, you can feel the Yan'an spirit like a raging fire, burning under the sky of history. Those touching stories, like bright stars, light up our way forward.
The Unique Landscape and Cultural Atmosphere of Yan'an
Yan'an boasts a unique geographical location, situated in the heart of the Loess Plateau, which gives rise to its distinctive landforms. The fertile land here is interspersed with mountains and rivers, with the Yan River being the most renowned. The Yan River meanders through the city, infusing it with vitality and energy. The riverbanks are lined with lush trees, making it a popular spot for locals to relax.
In Yan'an, the historical buildings of the ancient city attract many tourists. The ancient city preserves many traditional residences and streets, giving visitors a sense of stepping back in time. The buildings in the ancient city are primarily made of loess and bricks, showcasing the typical style of the northwest region. The roofs are mostly designed with slopes, which are both aesthetically pleasing and practical. Additionally, the ancient city is home to numerous handicraft shops and food stalls, highlighting the unique charm of local culture.
Yan'an Zaoyuan Revolutionary Site.
The Zaoyuan Revolutionary Site is home to simple cave dwellings, shaded by green trees, and is peaceful and tranquil.
In the long river of history, Zaoyuan was once the site of the Secretariat of the CPC Central Committee. Mao Zedong, Zhou Enlai, and other central leaders lived here, leading the great Anti-Japanese War, the Rectification Movement, and the Great Production Movement, laying a solid foundation for the victory of the whole country. It witnessed the major turning point of the Chinese revolution and carries countless moving stories.
Walking in Zaoyuan, it seems that you can see the busy figures of the ancestors and feel their firm belief and selfless dedication. Every plant and every brick here tells the magnificent history. It is an immortal spiritual monument, inspiring future generations to inherit the red gene and strive unremittingly for the realization of the Chinese dream of the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation.
Qingliang Mountain in Yan'an, where history and modernity intertwine.
Qingliang Mountain in Yan'an, a sacred mountain with a rich history.
It was once home to many important institutions such as Xinhua News Agency, Jiefang Daily, and the Central Printing Factory, and was known as "News Mountain". Here, countless revolutionary voices were spread, inspiring the people of the whole country to fight for freedom and liberation, and its historical value is immeasurable.
The Wanfo Cave on Qingliang Mountain is an artistic treasure. The stone walls of the cave are carved with tens of thousands of Buddha statues, each with its own unique style, lifelike. In the long river of history, Wanfo Cave has witnessed the vicissitudes and changes of the times. When you step into Wanfo Cave, you seem to be able to hear the echo of history and feel the piety and wisdom of the ancients. The ancient Buddha statues emit a mysterious atmosphere under the dim light, which makes people can't help but admire the skills of the ancestors.
Yan'an Red Street.
If you're visiting Yan'an, be sure to check out the Red Street. Located at No. 1, Huanhu Road, Keji Cheng, Gaoxin District, Yan'an City, the Red Street is a large-scale red cultural and tourism themed street district that integrates patriotic education, folk culture experience, and tourism leisure vacation. Here, you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of Yan'an, feel the ancient charm of the Red Street, admire the beautiful scenery of Yanhu Lake, taste the delicious food in the small courtyard, and watch the large-scale red situational experience drama "Return to Yan'an". It's a one-stop experience for eating, drinking, entertainment, accommodation, and shopping. It's worth a visit.
Baota Mountain in Yan'an.
When traveling to Yan'an, you must visit Baota Mountain. Because it is a symbol of the revolutionary holy land of Yan'an. It is famous for its beautiful natural scenery and unique cultural landscape. Baota Mountain, formerly known as Jialing Mountain, is located in the southeast of Yan'an City, on the bank of the Yan River. It was built in the Tang Dynasty and is now a Ming Dynasty building. The tower has an octagonal plane, nine floors, and is about 44 meters high. It is a pavilion-style brick tower. There are two tower gates in the south and the north. The gate is 2.35 meters high. The south gate is engraved with "Gao Chao Bi Luo", and the north gate is engraved with "Fu Shi Hong Chen". Today, Baota Mountain has been built into a forest park with towering pavilions, overlapping green hills, secluded stone paths, and pavilions.
Autumn Impressions of Yan'an, Shaanxi.
This trip to Yan'an, Shaanxi, has already been shared with friends about the Yan'an Revolution Museum and the Yangjialing Revolutionary Site. Due to time and weather constraints, I cannot share in detail what I have seen and heard in Yan'an. Today, I will share with friends my overall impression of Yan'an!
First of all, Yan'an Station. The entire front of the station is decorated with a pattern of cave dwellings, and a five-pointed red star shines brightly, exuding a strong Shaanxi northern characteristic. From a bird's-eye view, the roof of the station without platform pillars resembles an eagle with its wings spread, soaring into the sky, symbolizing Yan'an's vigorous development and soaring flight in the new era. The platform roof adopts a cable-supported steel structure. The application of modern steel structure technology makes the completed platform roof light and transparent, with a beautiful structure and strong expressive tension, achieving a perfect combination of structural technology and architectural art. At the same time, Yan'an Station uses multiple techniques, starting from culture, visual effects and other aspects, focusing on highlighting regional cultural characteristics, rich architectural space and innovative structural design. It integrates multiple domestic advanced technologies, equipped with passenger guidance system, central air conditioning system and automatic fire sprinkler system. The roof is a large-span cable-suspended steel structure, becoming an iconic building in the revolutionary holy land of Yan'an.
Next, I will share about Qingliangshan in Yan'an. Qingliangshan Wanshou Temple, a Song Dynasty cave temple, is one of the four major cave temples in Shaanxi. From January 1937 to March 27, 1947, the printing workshop of the Central Printing Factory was located on Qingliangshan. Known as the "News Mountain" of Red Yan'an, it has made indelible contributions to the Chinese revolution. On August 6, 1956, it was announced as the first batch of provincial key cultural relics protection units; on May 25, 2006, it was announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit; in 2011, it was rated as a 3A-level tourist attraction and one of the three major national red education bases. On the east side of Qingliangshan are the Xinhua Broadcasting Station, Xinhua News Agency and Jiefang Daily of the Yan'an period. The Wanshou Cave Grottoes are the revolutionary relics of the Central Printing Factory, Paper Mill, Health Bureau and Xinhua Bookstore.
Finally, there is Baota Mountain in Yan'an, located in Baota District, Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province. Built during the Dali period of the Tang Dynasty, it is part of the Yan'an Revolution Site and a landmark building in Yan'an City. Baota Mountain integrates historical relics and revolutionary sites, and combines human and natural landscapes. It covers an area of 360,000 square meters and has an altitude of 1135.5 meters, making it the highest peak among the surrounding mountains. Baota Mountain was approved by the State Council in 1961 as the first batch of national key cultural relics protection units; in 2019, the Yan'an Revolution Memorial Site Scenic Area, where Baota Mountain is located, was rated as a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. Baota Mountain has been successively rated as a national red tourism classic scenic area, provincial-level safe scenic area and provincial-level civilized scenic tourist area.
Qingliangshan and Baota Mountain in Yan'an are very close to each other, and each scenic spot has a separate entrance fee. There are also joint tickets, which seem to be around ninety yuan, which is recommended!
Taihe shines on all beings.
Taihe Mountain Taoist Temple, also known as Taihe Palace, is located on the top of Qingliang Mountain and is a famous Taoist holy land in Yan'an. The Taoist temple is built on the mountain, and the steps from the foot of the mountain to the gate of the mountain are like a heavenly road. The main body of the Taoist temple is large in scale, with many halls and many gods, and it is magnificent. At the gate of the Taoist temple, you can overlook the whole view of Yan'an and look at the majestic Baota Mountain.
A Local Tour: From Baota Mountain to Qingliang Mountain in Yan’an
#localtourguides Starting at the iconic Baota Mountain, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the towering pagoda standing proudly atop the hill. This symbol of Yan’an offers a panoramic view of the city, its winding streets and historic sites spread out below. The pagoda itself, with its ancient bricks and stories carved into its walls, stands as a testament to the city’s rich revolutionary history. Walking along the trails, surrounded by pine trees and the whisper of the wind, I felt a deep connection to the past.
Descending from Baota Mountain, I made my way to Qingliang Mountain, a place known for its serene beauty and historical significance. As I walked through the lush greenery, I passed by former revolutionary sites and old caves once used by the Communist Party leaders during the war years. The tranquil atmosphere, with birds singing and a cool breeze blowing, contrasted with the intense history that these grounds witnessed. Standing on the peak of Qingliang Mountain, looking back at Baota Mountain in the distance, I could sense the spirit of perseverance and resilience that has defined Yan’an for generations. It was more than just a journey between two mountains; it was a walk through history, culture, and the enduring spirit of this remarkable city.
Yan'an - Red Education Tour.
I've been busy all summer and haven't taken my child out to play. Now that the holidays are over, I'm taking advantage of the warm weather to take him out for a spin. My wife chose Yan'an, let's go! 😘
It takes two hours by high-speed rail from Xi'an to Yan'an. When I got off the train, the autumn air was crisp and refreshing. The weather was great, and the temperature here was about ten degrees lower than in Xi'an, with a low of only six or seven degrees over the past few days. I went to the hotel, dropped off my luggage, and had a bowl of buckwheat noodles nearby. Then, I headed straight for Wangjiaping. I took my child to visit the former residences of Chairman Mao and Premier Zhou. Next door is the Yan'an Revolution Memorial Hall. I took my time looking around and telling my child stories about the turbulent years... I felt that the air in Yan'an was filled with the spirit of the revolutionary ancestors, which made me feel inspired...
After about an hour of visiting the memorial hall, I took a car to Baota Mountain. I took the cable car up to the pagoda, then climbed up to the higher beacon tower and the highest point, Picking Star Tower. This is probably the highest point in Yan'an, with a panoramic view of the entire city. When I came down, I went to the nearby Erdao Street Night Market. I knew there was a Yan'an dipping sauce called "Zhanzhan", which I heard was similar to skewers. I ordered a鸳鸯锅 (hotpot with two flavors) and immediately fainted😰. Both the three-treasure and spicy hotpots were mainly cumin, which reminded me of Little Sheep twenty years ago...😂. I had a bite and went back to rest with a body full of cumin flavor😓
The next day, after breakfast, I went to the Zaoyuan Revolutionary Site, where Chairman Mao lived from 1943 to 1945. Then, I went to Yangjialing, which is even earlier, where Chairman Mao and his colleagues lived from 1938 to 1943. Then, I searched for a place to have a Zichang pancake, which I recommend! The pancake, mutton soup, and oil-fried cake were delicious👍
After eating and drinking, I went back to the hotel to rest for a while. I took the waist drum I bought for my child and took the train home! 😄
Former site of the Central Management Bureau Cadre Sanatorium at the Yan'an Nanniwan Revolutionary Site.
Former site of the Central Management Bureau Cadre Sanatorium: Located in Taobaoyu, Nanniwan, Baota District, Yan'an City, it is a two-story red building. The sanatorium was established in 1942, and the two-story red building was built in 1943. Because the walls were made of red bricks, it was called the Red Building at the time. After the Red Building was completed, every midsummer, elderly and weak leaders were arranged to come here for summer vacation. Zhu De, Dong Biwu, Wu Yuzhang, Xie Juezai, Xu Teli, Li Dingming and other leaders have come here for vacation. The building is currently open to the public as a revolutionary site for tourists to visit.
Former site of the Yan'an Artillery School in Nanniwan.
Former site of the Yan'an Artillery School: Located in Taobaoyu Village, Nanniwan, Baota District, Yan'an. The artillery school was established in the autumn of 1944, with Guo Huaruo as the first principal. The school had a political office, a staff office, and an education office, with more than 1,000 students, mainly training artillery company and platoon cadres. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, the artillery school was renamed the Military Commission Artillery School and the Senior Artillery School. In 1957, the artillery school merged with the artillery department of the Nanjing Military Academy to form the Artillery Academy. Elsewhere in life, let joy fill your heart‖Danyun Homestay
Jinyan'an Cultural Industry Park is a newly developed high-end homestay cluster located in the Holy Land Valley of Baota District, Jinyan'an Park. The store name is Danyun Homestay. The rooms include loft family rooms and cave-style rooms. We stayed on the top floor, the fourth floor, with a private small courtyard. The room had a large bathtub, and the terrace was just for our family. We enjoyed swinging, drinking tea, and reading, which was very pleasant. The front desk staff were very nice, and there was free white fungus soup to drink.
Jinyan'an has just been developed, and the surrounding facilities are average. However, the industry park itself is very good, with good sanitation and environment. The entire street is divided into South Street and North Street. In the evening, the streets are very lively with many snacks and performances. The night lights are fantastic, with an ancient charm, making it very suitable for leisure and vacation.

Yan'an‖A Hotel You Can't Miss
When it comes to cave dwellings, people might think of those earthy caves on the Loess Plateau. But at Cuiquan Hotel, these cave dwellings have transformed into a synonym for luxurious vacations! Stone walls paired with wooden furniture, exuding a modern sense amidst the rustic charm. As soon as you enter the room, the cool breeze from the air conditioner makes you feel incredibly comfortable! Looking out from the mountain view room, the lush greenery outside dissipates most of the heat!
🌟Highlights:
1. The hotel's theme is cave dwelling culture.
2. Plenty of activities for kids: playground, wave pool, garden, and watching deer and peacocks.
3. Reasonable prices: half the price of Lintong hot spring hotels.
4. Quiet and less crowded, perfect for photography.
🚉Transportation Guide:
Navigate to Cuiquan Hotel in Yan'an City. It is recommended to drive; it takes about 3 hours and 300 kilometers from Xi'an, and 30 minutes by car from Yan'an city center.
🏨Hotel Environment:
The hotel is a mountain resort. To the right after entering the main gate and going down the stairs is a small lake with small bridges, windmills, rockeries, and pavilions. On the left are courtyard rooms with a cave dwelling theme. Moving forward, you can see a lush green lawn, an outdoor swimming pool, a children's playground, yurts, etc. There are two accommodation buildings here: Cuiquan Building and VIP Building, with the VIP Building featuring the cave dwelling theme and situated at a higher elevation. Further back is the back mountain, with sika deer, a vegetable garden, and Zhengjue Temple.
Yan'an Travel ‖ Staying at Luyi Garden Hotel is so comfortable!
Traveling to Yan'an, accommodation is also essential🉐! There are many hotels in Yan'an New District🈶, after a long selection, I finally decided on Yan'an Luyi Garden Hotel🏨

🏨Yan'an Luyi Garden Hotel
📍Detailed Address:
Northwest corner of the intersection of Zunyi Street and Xingzhi North Road
👍Most Recommended:
The exterior of the entire hotel is quite grand😯 and the facilities inside are fully equipped. The first floor is the lobby and restaurant, and the rooms are above the second floor. I made a reservation in advance, and the check-in was particularly fast!
🛏Room Facilities:
The whole room is quite large, the basic room type is really good to be this big. The bedding is very comfortable, but there are no sockets near the desk, so it's not very convenient for working. The minibar is empty, maybe because no one uses it. The curtains are all electric, which is quite smart. You can also have food delivery robots directly deliver to your floor.
Parking is in the underground parking lot, and it's completely free, which is very attractive.
