Otherwise known (and debated) as the geographic center of Asia, this is a monument in the far western region of Xinjiang and furthest from the sea than anywhere in the world. Upon arrival, the complex itself was not at all what I expected to see. It was deserted. There wasn't another soul in sight apart from myself, my friend and our driver. The momument sits towards the end of the complex, a 22 meter tall tower in the shape of an "A". And you can stand directly under the arrow that points to the exact location of the “Heart of Asia”.
