My trip to Taipei in January was an unforgettable experience. The cool weather at the beginning of the year made exploring the city comfortable and pleasant. Though there were occasional light rains, they didn’t hinder my travel plans; instead, they added a refreshing touch to the atmosphere. ☂️🌫️❄️ One of my favorite areas was Ximending, the heart of Taipei’s vibrant and colorful scene. This district is a bustling hub of shops, fashion, and incredibly delicious food. Strolling through Ximending in the evening, amidst the lively crowd and dazzling lights, made me feel truly alive. The food in Ximending is a highlight. Whether it's local dishes or international cuisine, each restaurant offers unique and delectable flavors. I had the chance to try mala hotpot, which was spicy and aromatic, leaving me craving for more. Street food stalls also offered exceptional taste at affordable prices. The crispy yet tender stinky tofu and the fragrant, rich noodle soups were among my favorites. Besides the food, wandering around Ximending was a delight. The small shops and booths selling souvenirs made shopping fun and exciting. I picked up several small souvenirs for friends and family, each reasonably priced and not too expensive. In conclusion, visiting Taipei in January was a worthwhile experience. On a hot summer evening, Ximending is packed with tourists. I randomly chose Matsuya, a Japanese rice bowl specialty store that has been operating in Taiwan for several years. The restaurant uses a self-service ordering system, where you find a seat first and then place your order. The rice bowls mainly feature beef and pork, with various unique combinations and portion sizes to choose from, ranging from 100 to 200 NTD. In simple terms, it's a concept of a quick meal. The ingredients are ordinary, and if the taste is not enough, you can add shichimi powder or sauce. It's filling~ Tofu and kimchi help stimulate the appetite during the summer!

Matsuya Japanese Cuisine - Japanese Donburi in Ximending

On a hot summer evening, the Ximending shopping district was packed with tourists. I casually chose Matsuya, a Japanese donburi specialty store that has been open in Taiwan for several years. The restaurant operates on a self-service ordering system; you find a seat before placing your order. The donburi mainly features beef and pork, with various combinations and portions to choose from. Prices range from one hundred to two hundred dollars. In short, it's the concept of a quick meal. The ingredients are average, and if the taste isn't enough, you can add shichimi (seven-flavor chili pepper) or sauce to enhance it. It's filling – and the tofu and kimchi are great for stimulating the appetite in summer!

My First Experience with Taiwan's Rainy Charm

Taiwan in early October, the rain falls gently due to the cheap tickets I got, haha. Well, Taiwan is known for its rainy weather, but that's not a problem at all. The charm of Taiwan lies in its rainy days. I arrived in Taiwan late at night with some peak experiences even before getting off the plane, which caused a delay of over 2 hours. By the time I reached my accommodation in Taipei, it was already midnight. My place is located in the Ximending district.

Ximending is a lively area of shopping malls, street foods, entertainment outlets like cinema etc. We totally enjoyed ourselves walking around there. Furthermore, the weather was cool too. In 2024, I hope to bring my family to Taipei again.

Taiwan trip with first ever earthquake experience

Went to taipei for the first time and experienced the first ever earthquake in my life and it was the first in 25 years for taiwan to experience a 7.2 strong earthquake but nevertheless it was a fun trip. Went around taipei the whole trip, couldn’t go to other locations like jiufen, shifen, yilan due to earthquake. Still enjoyed taipei very much, especially the night markets and the delicious food we had the whole trip. Can’t wait to be able to go back and hopefully to more other places this time.#Taipei

Just came back from Taiwan 2 days back, went to many places and ate lots of good food there! Though I only been to taipei and taichung for a 5days trip, I think that’s pretty fulfilling !! Jiufen and shifen is lowkey underwhelming for me haha (maybe because i’ve went there before) but other than that i think i enjoyed my day trip to taichung the most !! i’ve only been to 1 night market in taipei which is raohe haha but i felt like it’s way more than enough because my family have been suffering from cough and flu the whole trip…. but other than that I can’t wait to be back to taiwan again and explore many more places like tainan!! And omg though I have only stayed there for 5 days, tell me HOW did I experience two earthquakes in a week 😭😭😭 it was so scary….

This music store has pivoted to start selling milk tea. In this smart move to rejuvenate his business, both his music store and milk tea business are thriving! People end up walking around his music store while they wait for their bubble tea. Really interesting place and worth a look. The milk tea I ordered was alright. But for the price, it was still totally worth it. I’d really love to go to Hong Kong to compare Hong Kong milk tea with the one I tried here. But it’ll definitely be hard to beat given my bias towards Hong Kong milk tea hehe #winhkflight #tea #foodie
