The local guides will teach you about which leaves are picked and what their entire drying process is. Afterwards, while watching them brew the tea they do a little magic trick to make pink tea. The tea changes color from yellow to pink once a citrus fruit is squeezed into the brew.
It is a sight to behold! The tea is delicious and environment is quiet, listening to the sounds of nature. For evening entertainment, they light a bonfire and teach you traditional dances.

📷I used to just stay by the seaside when visiting Hainan and didn't really explore the attractions, so this time I decided to change it up and went to the Wuzhishan Red Canyon Cultural Tourism Area recommended by local friends.
🌺Wuzhishan Red Canyon is a comprehensive scenic area that combines sightseeing, vacationing, leisure, entertainment, and health-living. Besides the tropical rainforest, there are also many outdoor challenges like canyon drifting, and it has even been a location for many popular variety shows.
🌸You can easily reach the Red Canyon scenic area from downtown Wuzhishan by taking the Wuzhishan Shuiman Township bus or the No. 5 bus, making transportation very convenient.
🌊The first activity I tried was the 3.8-kilometer Red Canyon drifting, with a drop of nearly 100 meters. The rapids and tropical rainforest scenery along the way make you feel as if you're in a movie scene. Plus, you can drift here all year round, and there are special cold-proof suits available for visitors even in autumn and winter.
❤️In addition to drifting, I also checked in at the Red Canyon plank road built along the mountain, and challenged myself with the Red Canyon zip-line, high-altitude suspension bridge, and glass dry slide, which were both thrilling and fun.
🍵The scenic area also has the Canyon Taste Xuan restaurant, which offers a rich variety of dishes with a unique style, including traditional Hainanese classics and Miao ethnic specialties, satisfying the taste buds.
👍Since I planned to spend a whole day experiencing the activities, I stayed overnight at the Wuzhishan Central Hotel nearby. The hotel's decor is very distinctive, featuring neo-Chinese classicism with tropical rainforest elements. The rooms are fully automated and well-equipped, making for a very comfortable stay.

No need to wait for the return trip.

It takes about an hour and a half to finish the tour, mainly for taking photos and walking with kids, as there is a small children's amusement park inside. If you bring children, they can play for half a day. The village also offers Li ethnic clothing rental for photo souvenirs.

Wuzhishan has two scenic areas:
1. Hainan Tropical Rainforest National Park: Wuzhishan hiking (see map 18 for the specific route) A dense forest oxygen bar, tickets are 40 RMB per person, 25 RMB for students and seniors.
Hainan's 5A-level scenic spot; no cable car! Very primitive, feels like you could shoot a Jurassic movie, as if a giant dinosaur might jump out at any second. The area is sparsely populated, offering a thrilling sense of adventure. The park thoughtfully labels the trees and potential wild animals along the way with their names and characteristics, allowing you to enjoy the scenery while learning interesting natural facts.
If you just want to walk in the Wuzhishan jungle and breathe in some oxygen, you can choose the Changhua River Source route, walk to the waterfall and back, about 2 hours.
If you want to climb the mountain, reserve a whole day. This is real climbing, the kind that requires hands and feet, not recommended for non-professionals. I didn't go, but I heard some people took 9 hours.
2. Wuzhishan Tropical Rainforest Scenic Area: View the full panorama of Wuzhishan from a distance.
You can call the microbus driver directly at the entrance of the national park to pick you up, 10 RMB per person, and it takes no more than 10 minutes to arrive.

2️⃣The source of Changhua River➡️The end of the new wooden plank road takes 1h, this section is all wooden stairs, there is no special scenery, purely for masochism, you can continue to climb, you will really climb to doubt life
3️⃣The end of the wooden plank road➡️Wuzhishan main peak and second peak, all are wild roads, ⏰uphill: about 3h, downhill: about 3h, beginners, children, older people, and those with heavier weight should not climb. It's really for your safety

The Hainan Provincial Ethnic Museum is located at No. 5 Taifei Road, Wuzhishan City. It was planned in the autumn of 1981 and opened to the public on October 1, 1986. Its predecessor was the Ethnic Museum of Hainan Li and Miao Autonomous Prefecture. After the establishment of Hainan Province, it was renamed as Hainan Provincial Ethnic Museum. The museum mainly focuses on archaeological excavations, collections, research and display of Hainan ethnic relics, and studies the history of Hainan Island and the traditional culture of ethnic groups such as Li, Miao, and Hui. It is a comprehensive museum and an important research base for ethnology and folklore in Hainan Province, and a base for patriotic education in Hainan Province. In September 2014, it was demolished and rebuilt, with a total investment of more than 80 million for the construction of the first phase of the main project and the display supporting project. It reopened to the public on February 11, 2018. The new museum building is located on the mountain and faces the city.
