Come to the Western District to experience the different Storm River Suspension Bridge
The Storm River Suspension Bridge, a towering man-made marvel over a rushing river, is a delicate link between nature and humanity. It is not only an engineering feat but also a sanctuary for thrill-seekers and adventurers. This trip offers an intimate encounter with heights and the forces of nature, leaving one exhilarated and unforgettable.
At dawn, as you set foot on the path leading to the bridge, the morning air is filled with the moist scent of earth, hinting at the extraordinary journey ahead. As you approach the bridge step by step, its full view gradually unfolds before your eyes. The massive bridge towers stand like ancient guardians, silently watching over, while the suspension bridge deck connecting the two banks resembles a silver ribbon gracefully spanning the Storm River.
After purchasing tickets, the guide's voice introduces the history and structure of the bridge. The wooden planks beneath your feet creak slightly with each step, as if telling the stories of past travelers. Through the gaps between your fingers, you can see the shimmering river below, the free-spirited soul of the Storm River. With each step forward, you can feel the slight sway of the bridge in the breeze, both thrilling and exciting.
Standing at the center of the bridge, surrounded by mountains and lush greenery, the Storm River appears so peaceful and harmonious at this moment. Breathing in, it feels as if you can hear the heartbeat of nature and sense the continuous flow of life. At this moment, a strong wind blows, increasing the sway of the bridge, and the exclamations of tourists rise and fall, bringing more excitement and challenge.
It is worth noting that the safety measures on the bridge are very well done. Sturdy railings, professional rescue teams, and strict crowd control ensure the safety of every visitor. This makes it possible for even those with acrophobia to enjoy this high-altitude journey with sufficient safety guarantees.
After crossing the bridge, there is a viewing platform, the best place to enjoy the panoramic view of the Storm River. Here, you can see brave paragliders soaring in the sky and gaze at the scenery on the other side, immersing your soul in this tranquility and magnificence.
The entire visit lasts about half a day, including the bridge-crossing experience, photo-taking at the viewing platform, and appreciating the surrounding natural scenery. The journey includes thrilling moments and peaceful, pleasant segments, making it a comprehensive sensory experience.
Upon leaving, looking back at the suspension bridge, one cannot help but feel deep respect for nature and human ingenuity. The Storm River Suspension Bridge is not just a travel experience; it is a masterpiece of mutual achievement between man and nature, a paradise for those seeking ultimate experiences and self-challenges. What remains from this trip is an unforgettable memory and the courage to explore the unknown world again.

Conquering Fears at Bloukrans Bridge
#weekendgetaways
Our South Africa trip in May 2024 took us to the iconic Bloukrans Bridge, an engineering marvel that left us breathless! This arch bridge, built by Concor between 1980-1983, soars 216m above the Bloukrans River, connecting the Western and Eastern Cape. For thrill-seekers, it offers the world's highest commercial bridge bungee jumping experience, with breathtaking views of the gorge and Indian Ocean. For those like us who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground, the skywalk offers a safe and exhilarating experience, harness and all! Peering over the edge, our hearts raced as we took in the stunning scenery. A must-visit for adventure lovers and nature enthusiasts alike, Bloukrans Bridge is an unforgettable experience!

Self Drive Safari
When completing the garden route in Port Elizabeth, we decided that instead of making the long journey to Kruger National Park, we would keep our hire car for an extra day and self drive safari in Addo National Park. What a wonderful day we had! The park has The Big 5 as well as incredible birds, hundreds of zebra, leopard turtles, multiple antelope, hyena, and the list goes on.
The park opens from 7:30-17:00 was very reasonably priced and truly stunning.
Highly recommended 1🐆🐒🐗🦓🦌🦁🐘🦏🦅🐦🐢

Explore South Africa | Be sure to explore Tsitsikamma National Park
Tsitsikamma, with the original forest rising to the north and the blue Indian Ocean to the south.
This is one of South Africa's most popular national parks, Tsitsikamma National Park, located between East and West Cape Town. As an independent maritime national park, the forest covers more than 80 kilometers of coastline, and ancient rivers slowly flow into the Indian Ocean from the jungle.
And it's also a paradise for outdoor sports enthusiasts, with the world's highest bungee jumping, hiking, waterfall tours, surfing, kayaking, and more.
Hiking tours can choose different hiking routes, by time period, there are several hours to several days of different lengths and difficulty of the route. We chose a relatively simple route, but also saw beautiful scenery.
The Storm River Suspension Bridge is a must-see. Storm Mouth is the narrowest estuary where all rivers return to the sea. Passing over the hundreds of meters long cable bridge, listening to the roar of the waves in the sway, marveling at the wonders of nature.
We also encountered hoofed rabbits, cute little guys living in rock piles. If you don't know, you might think they're big rats, but they actually share a common ancestor with elephants and manatees. Nature is really amazing.
I hope everyone can have such a worthwhile experience!

A weekend spent with friends in nature
Cape Town is beautiful, and it would not be what it is without the world famous Table Mountain, but people often forget that Table Mountain isn’t the only mountain we have to offer here in the Western Cape, infact, we have an entire mountain range just a few hours away, the Cedarberg Mountains.
A short while back I had the pleasure of going on a weekend camping trip to the Cedarberg with some friends. We stayed at Krommrivier farm and had a wonderful time. The stars at night were so bright and the nature around us was breathtaking. There is an abundance of hiking #camping #camping #cedarberg #nature #hiking #hikingtrails trails to choose from in the area, we did a beautiful hike to a secluded pool in the mountains. The water was cold as ice but it felt good after the 2 hour hike. There was also a great opportunity to do some rock jumping for the adrenaline junkies amongst us.
On our return to Krommrivier we went to the on sight restaurant to wind down. The hand cut fries were delicious and my chocolate milkshake was exactly what I needed after that long hike. We sat outside the restaurant, enjoying the scenery, reading our books and taking time to relax.
At the end of the weekend (though it was short), I felt rejuvenated and was left with some memories I would cherish forever. Making smores over the open fire, being brave enough to jump from a height that terrified me, and sharing meaningful moments with my friends, there’s just something that you find out there, out there in nature when it’s just you and your thoughts, perhaps a friend or two. I‘ll cherish those moments forever.
