2024 Weizhou Island Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in November)
Today's Weather
Cloudy 13-25℃
I'm back from Beihai! Don't wear a short skirt, I'm serious...
There are endless things to explore in Beihai, and it's relatively affordable, but be aware of some common traps.
For first-time visitors to Beihai, it's important to plan your itinerary in advance.
Today, I'm going to share some of my real experiences in Beihai✍🏻, hoping to provide a reference for your trip and ensure that you have a pleasant and hassle-free journey.
·
💡Tips
1. Choose Beihai Station as your high-speed rail terminal, as it's closer to the city center and more convenient than Beihai North Station.
2. Avoid taking illegal taxis outside the airport or high-speed rail station, as they may try to sell you hotels, restaurants, or tour packages at exorbitant prices.
3. Avoid taking photos with people in strange cartoon costumes on the beach or at scenic spots, as this may involve additional fees.
4. The pearl jewelry at scenic spots is often of uneven quality. It's recommended to buy souvenirs from street vendors' carts at night, as the prices are more reasonable.
5. The prices of local specialties at scenic spots are usually higher. It's recommended to go directly to the supermarket, where some items also offer mail-order services.
6. The sun is strong in Beihai, so it's wise to bring a sun umbrella.
7. Cycling along the Silver Beach is a great way to enjoy the sea view, but remember to compare prices at different rental services, as you may find a better deal.
8. Guantouling is a great place to watch the sunset, while Qiaogang Beach is a good place to watch the sunrise. Don't get them confused.
9. During peak season, scenic spots may be busy, so it's recommended to book in advance on relevant platforms.
10. When traveling to Weizhou Island, choose Beihai International Passenger Port for the ferry. There are frequent departures, and ticket prices vary depending on the cabin class.
11. While you can taste the so-called specialty dried fruits for free, they are charged by weight and are expensive. Not worth it.
·
🌈My itinerary
Day❶: Beihai Station→Silver Beach→Qiaogang Style Street→Jinhai Bay Mangrove Forest
Day❷: Guantouling→Old Street→Beibu Gulf Square
Day❸: Weizhou Island→Crocodile Mountain Volcano Park→Driping Danping
Day❹: Weizhou Island→Five-Color Beach→Catholic Church→Seashell Beach
Day❺: Weizhou Island→Beihai→Return home
·
🍲In Beihai, food is also an experience not to be missed:
✅Wang Jie Seafood: Offers authentic Sichuan-style seafood, spicy and delicious.
✅Coconut Ji Man: The coconut jelly here is fragrant and full of coconut milk.
✅Mama's Coconut Chicken: Wenchang chicken is tender and juicy, and even more delicious with the special dipping sauce.
✅Qiongda Zaopa Vinegar: Sour and spicy, suitable for dipping various ingredients.
✅Gui Ba Mianmian Ice: Smooth and delicate, with various fruit flavors, it's the perfect summer dessert.
✅Xiang Buluo·Beihai Dried Seafood·Souvenirs: This souvenir shop offers affordable prices and a variety of Beihai specialties, such as seafood dried fish, dried shrimp, sea duck eggs, and squid threads. Highly recommended.

Summer breeze of Weizhou Island of Beihai
WEIZHOU ISLAND
Weizhou Island is located in Beibu Bay, 36 nautical miles from downtown Beihai in Guangxi province. It is the youngest and largest volcanic island in China. Seen from above, it is a bow-shaped piece of green jade floating in the sea. Covered by luxuriant vegetation, this island also houses special sea erosion landscapes, volcanic lava, colorful coral and wide beaches. We suggest you spend 1-2 days visiting this beautiful island.
The only way to reach the island is by boat from Beihai International Passenger Port Station. The boat to the island departs at 08:30, 11:30 and 15:45 and returns at 10:00, 14:30, and 17:00. The schedule may change in peak seasons and rough weather. The one published in Beihai International Passenger Port shall prevail. Cabin B is CNY120/person one way, Cabin A is CNY180/person one way and the Stateroom is CNY240/person one way.
After getting off at the port on the island, charter a private vehicle to the scenic spots or your hotels. It usually costs CNY30/ person or CNY50 per/car.
To get to Beihai International Passenger Port from downtown Beihai, take bus no.3 or hail a taxi for CNY50-60.

Weizhou Island, Beihai
Weizhou Island is an absolutely beautiful place. It’s easily accessible by taking a Ferry from Beihai Port. The ferry tickets can either be booked online or bought from the port directly. As a foreigner you will need a Chinese friend to help you with purchasing the tickets online. Once on the island, there are loads of hotels all over and many hotels offer beach views and some offer private beaches too. Going around on the island is easy by renting an electronic bike.

Where is the summer vacation? Every 3,000 people travel to Weizhou Island

Well, this place is called "Weizhou Island", located in Guangxi, China. How does
arrive?
The preferred high-speed rail, some cities have direct flights to the North Sea, but the summer holiday prices are not cheap. You can choose to fly to Nanning, and then there is a high-speed rail to the North Sea. It only takes more than an hour and is cost-effective.

On the island accommodation
Weizhou Island has a lot of homestays, the choice of space is very large, about two hundred can live to not bad.
Recommended to live near South Bay, it is more convenient to eat and eat here.
Traveling on the island
Pazhou Island is not very convenient, many attractions electric cars are the most convenient. The rented price is around 60 yuan.

About food
Come to Weizhou Island to eat seafood, it is really fresh. The price is still very cheap compared to the city. The Nanwan Seafood Market can be bought by itself and then processed at all restaurants near the market at a price of 10-25.
can also buy back homestay processing, daily on the Weizhou Island is to buy seafood.
There are many entertainments on the beach, like snorkeling, jet skis, quad bikes and more.
The Crocodile Mountain Volcanic Park, located in the Crater Geological Park of Weizhou Island, is one of the must-see scenery of Weizhou Island. The strange rock formations on the seashore are amazing. The landscape of Weizhou Island, which was formed by the volcanic eruption thousands of years ago, is reflected here. It is definitely a great place to see the volcanic rocks and enjoy the sea views. The remains of the
volcanic eruption envelop the entire crocodile mountain coast, although it is called a relic, but the surroundings are full of vitality.
There will be a lot of tourists here, and maybe its a bit of a love for this date.
Location: Within the Weizhou Island Volcano National Geological Park in the Beibu Gulf area of Haicheng District, Beihai City
The Shengtang Catholic Church is one of the famous scenic spots on Weizhou Island. Although it is somewhat old, it also has a strong historical trace. The island residents have not done any processing and reconstruction in order to preserve its original appearance.
The whole building of the church was made of corals and shells on the island. The style should be considered very beautiful at the time. It is a classic French Gothic Catholic church. After coming out of the side door of the church, the garden is quiet and elegant, making people feel very relaxed.
everyday 6
Yuya is a unique, Nordic-style attraction on Weizhou Island. Since you have come to Weizhou Island, you must not miss the sunset of the cliff.
On the way to Yuya, I met a calf and was very cute with fresh grass.
When we arrived, many people already occupied the best position, and also met a couple of new people to take wedding photos here, presumably recalled later, it is also a beautiful memory.
If the colorful beach is the most precious jewel in the natural carving of Weizhou Island, then the cliff is another gift of this treasure to human beings.
Beihai and Weizhou Island are great places to visit in November.
📍Beihai and Weizhou Island are great places to visit in November.
The weather in Beihai in November is perfect. The sea breeze and electric bikes are a perfect match (remember to wear sunscreen).
Seafood in Beihai is very cheap. My friends and I had a great time eating mantis shrimp.
Now, let's talk about Weizhou Island!
Remember to wear sunscreen. I recommend visiting Crocodile Mountain in the early morning or after 3 pm. Don't go hiking between 10 am and 3 pm, as it is very hot and the backlight will make your photos look dark. The sea near the cactus photo frame is very clean and there are few people, so you can take great photos there. The sunset at Shiluokou is amazing, and the sunrise at Wucaitan is beautiful (unfortunately, we didn't see the sunrise because it was cloudy that morning).
Seafood, Southeast Asian food, Sichuan food, and fusion food on the island are all quite expensive. Accommodation prices are reasonable during the off-season. You have to pay for fresh water to wash your hands and feet and to park your electric bike. Some attractions charge fees without notice (e.g. the Catholic Church). You can ignore them and leave after parking your bike.
There are many negative reviews about the locals on Weizhou Island, but we found that many restaurant and hotel owners are not locals. They were very friendly and helped us find our way. Many locals were also very friendly. The owner of our homestay was a kind and beautiful girl from Chongqing, and she had a cute dog.
Our trip was very rushed. Weizhou Island is a great place to relax. Next time, I will spend a week on the island.

Island Diary🏝️A hotel on Weizhou Island that makes you want to stay forever
🪨
I went on a weekend vacation with my friends to a small island⛱️
We chose Beihai, which is not far from us
The hotel we stayed at was amazing! It felt like the Maldives!!
We spent the whole day at the hotel, which is very photogenic! The beach is right outside the hotel, so you don't need to go anywhere else. There are hammocks where you can lie down and enjoy the sea breeze all afternoon
The butler service is very attentive, and they take good care of you. You can just lie down and relax
I'll be back!!

4️⃣ Waterproof phone case 📱
5️⃣ Umbrella ☂️! Umbrella ☂️!
6️⃣ Motion sickness medicine 💊: It takes an hour and a half to get to Weizhou Island by boat. The wind was against us on the way there, and I was so seasick I questioned my life 🤨
⛰️ Beihai Attractions:
1️⃣ Silver Beach: The beaches in Beihai 🏖️ are all similar, so you can choose one or two to visit.
2️⃣ Qiaogang Beach: There are relatively fewer people.
3️⃣ Qiaogang Style Street: Snack street with many check-in points, specialty shops, and clothing stores. You can have a good time shopping.

2️⃣ Coconut Coconut Daji: Located on Qiaogang Style Street, the packaging is very beautiful, and the taste is average.

4️⃣ Jasmine Restaurant 🍴: Located near Shiluokou, the food is delicious!
5️⃣ Gui Xiaochu: A chain restaurant with a specialty dish called Laoyou Fish. Personally, I think the taste is average, but you can try it if you want to taste Guangxi's specialty dishes.
📝 Overall Experience:
1️⃣ Be sure to book a ferry ticket from Beihai to Weizhou Island in advance on the mini program.
2️⃣ You only need to visit one or two beaches in Beihai.
3️⃣ Shrimp cakes and fried ice are also Beihai specialties, but I didn't have time to try them this time.
4️⃣ You can buy seafood and have it processed yourself, which is a great experience.

I took so many photos of Weizhou Island that I got sick of it.
🌟Here's a guide to taking photos at Shiluokou, Weizhou Island:👇
📍Detailed address:👇
✅1. Navigation: Weizhou Island Haishang Inn (Shiluokou Branch). You can see the sign for {Shiluokou} when you get here. See the last photo. 🤩
✅2. Choose the right time: Go when the tide is at 260. It's usually better to go in the morning. Also, don't stay too long before the tide comes in. 🤪
✅3. What to wear: Don't wear slippery shoes to avoid falling on the wet ground. 😃
✅4. Find the right spot: Walk from the beach to the sea erosion landform. Keep going and you'll see a cliff. This is a great spot for photos. You can also try other spots. 😭
✅5. Composition and angle: Use a wide-angle lens to capture a wider view. Adjust the angle and composition to highlight the beauty and features of the sea erosion cliff. 😲
✅6. Safety first: Be careful when taking photos. Don't take risks for the sake of a photo, especially in dangerous places. Pay attention to the ground and the waves. 🥳
✅7. Overall, Shiluokou, Weizhou Island is a great place to take photos. Choose the right time and spot, pay attention to safety and composition, and you can take beautiful photos. 📷
Guangxi, Beihai, Weizhou Island, Chengzi Church Ruins
The church was built around 1880 by Father Li of the French Catholic Church. The front of the church features a three-story square bell tower that is 4.5 meters wide and 14 meters high. The bell tower is engraved with the words "Church of Our Lady". Behind the bell tower is a rectangular church with a construction area of 265 square meters. Connected to the back corner of the church is a two-story priest's building with a construction area of 405 square meters. The building is a typical European rural Gothic church and is the only Church of Our Lady in the Beihai area. It is a historical witness to the introduction of the French Catholic Church to Weizhou Island in modern times.
An Underrated Beautiful Island
(Weizhou Island Travel Guide). Weizhou Island is truly a treasure island worth visiting. Personally, I think staying on the island for at least 3-5 days is more appropriate. The prices on the island are relatively high, so make sure to plan well!!!
-
Here is my personal guide after visiting (for reference)
Weizhou Island ferry ticket 💰150
Island entry fee 💰90
If there are many people, you can rent a sightseeing car. Electric scooters cost 💰60 per day
-
Most of the attractions on the island are 🆓 admission, but Crocodile Mountain Volcano Park 🌋 and Colorful Beach require tickets, so remember to buy them in advance
-
Route 🚢
Day 1
Nanwan Street (stay) - Dishui Danping Scenic Area - Coral 🪸 Museum - Crocodile Mountain Volcano Park - Intertidal Zone (night sea trip)
Day 2
Go out for snorkeling (didn't see the glass sea due to bad weather) - Catholic Church - Malagang to collect shells - Seafood market to bargain for seafood
(Our itinerary was quite 🈵, those with more time can add more activities)
-
Personally, I think Nanwan is very photogenic. When we arrived, there were still some southwest waves, almost as high as a person 🌊 (be careful!!). Many people take photos at the turn in Nanwan because it is so beautiful!!
A guide to understanding how to play on Weizhou Island in Beihai! Recommended for collection
Blue sea and silver beach, 🌄 sunset, once rated as one of the most beautiful islands by National Geographic, 🌴 Weizhou Island boasts romantic coastal scenery! After spending two days on Weizhou Island, I have summarized a guide to Weizhou Island. If you plan to travel, dear friends ❤️, please like and collect!
✈️🚄🚗 Transportation
✈️✈️ Plane: Land at Beihai Fucheng Airport, it takes about half an hour to take a taxi to the city, or take the airport bus (20/person)
🚝🚝 High-speed rail: Directly to Beihai Station, it takes about twenty minutes to get to Silver Beach by car.
🚗 On the island: It is recommended to rent a small electric scooter on Weizhou Island, which is very cost-effective!
🚖 You need to buy ferry tickets and entrance tickets 🎫 in advance to get on the island (round-trip ferry tickets are 300/person, entrance tickets are 98/person)
⛳ Scenic spots
🏖 Shell Beach: The beach is very long, full of coral stones and sea snails washed up by the waves. Sisters who like to collect shells must go! You will definitely return with a full load.
🏖 Blue Bridge: A must-visit spot on Weizhou Island! A blue bridge extending to the sea level, although you can't go on the bridge, it's perfect for taking photos! Many angles produce great photos!
🏖 Nanwan Street: A super lively coastal road with all kinds of desserts and delicacies! A great place for eating, drinking, and having fun, and the busiest place on the island.
Crocodile Mountain Volcano Geological Park: You can see complete volcanic relics, an excellent spot to view the sea and volcanic rocks, super stunning!
🏖 Catholic Church: Personally, I think besides seeing the sea, you can also check in at this European-style church on Weizhou Island. It has a great atmosphere, especially in the afternoon during sunset when the sunlight shines into the church, making it perfect for photos!
🏕 Tips for getting on the island
⚠️ Be sure to prepare sunscreen, mosquito repellent, and seasickness medicine, as you can easily get seasick on the island!
⚠️ The prices on the island are very high, so you can prepare some daily necessities yourself, which is more cost-effective!

D2 Colorful Beach Sunrise - Shell Beach - Catholic Church - Internet-famous Cactus Wall - Seaside Swing - Blue Bridge - Nanwan Street Sunset - Buy Seafood for Processing

2 Blue Bridge, Seaside Swing, must-check-in spots, come to the Internet-famous swing to check-in, diving, snorkeling, surfing
3 Go to Crocodile Mountain Park to watch the sunrise
Appreciate the touching sunrise and sunset, the black classroom, the seaside boardwalk, and the lonely lighthouse are all very unique. If you are not physically fit, be cautious (because you have to climb the mountain).
4 Whale Watching
Weizhou Island is one of the only places in China's coastal areas where you can see whales. The experience is unique, and the best time for whale watching is from December to April of the following year. You can book on the platform for around 300.
5 Check-in at the Unmanned Beach
Go to the beach to pick up shells, and you can also watch the sunrise.
6 Check-in at the Catholic Church
Gothic church, great for photos, even the surrounding garden is unbelievably beautiful! Remember to take off your hat when entering the church.
7 Go to Nanwan Street to eat seafood
The busiest place on Weizhou Island, with seafood markets, supermarkets, and bars all available. When buying seafood, remember to bargain.
8 Check-in at the Spring and Summer Cliff Garden
Liu Yifei and others have been here! A super photogenic South French-style café, you can also watch the sunset if you go in the evening.
9 Check-in at the Cactus Experience Hall
Same as the variety show, have a cactus drink once, and you can also learn about cacti.
📝Note Tips:
About catching the sea
Catching the sea means picking up crabs and snails on the beach during low tide, but what you find depends on luck.
About the seaside sunrise
If you are in Beihai, you can go to Qiaogang or Yintan to watch the sunrise, both are good. If you are on Weizhou Island, you can go to the East Coast Colorful Beach Shell Beach.
The most satisfying resort hotel on Weizhou Island!
The most satisfying resort hotel on Weizhou Island
Beihai Weizhou Island Reef Hotel
This is my second time going to Beihai, and this hotel is simply beautiful. Every moment is picture-perfect. The hotels on the island all offer shuttle services. On the first day on the island, I stayed at a relatively affordable hotel, but the experience was terrible—it was very damp and there were many mosquitoes. On the second day, I directly checked into the Reef Hotel. I communicated with the butler in advance, and they came to pick me up on time the next day. The front desk lady even upgraded our room. When you arrive at the hotel, someone is waiting at the door to help you with your luggage. It's a whole butler-style service. The hotel butlers are all young men and women, and you can communicate directly with them if you have any issues. The hotel's Chinese restaurant is also good. The weather was bad when we went, so we mostly ate at the hotel. The stir-fried pork was very appetizing, and the dried shrimp with preserved vegetables was also delicious. I can't remember the names of the dishes, but almost everything was good. There are different desserts at different times of the day. In the afternoon, there are small cakes, and at night, there are stews. The turn-down service was a pleasant surprise, and the small cakes were all super delicious. When we went to catch the sea at night, the hotel even sent the tools to our room. You can book the hotel's car to go anywhere, which is very convenient for getting around. It's more suitable for a vacation. If you're in a rush, the experience won't be as good. What satisfied me the most was still the Reef Hotel.
Benjamin Adams Benjamin|25 Seaside Sunrise Floor-to-ceiling windows Who do you want to wake up naturally with?
It's really super close to the seaside, just walk out and down to the beach, and it's also close to the Colorful Beach. It's convenient to go see the sunrise in the morning, and there are supermarkets and dining nearby,
I really like the kitten in the store, it's really super cute, the room's color scheme is very comfortable, and the sea outside the window is super healing!
The owner is very nice and particularly enthusiastic. The location of the store is especially good. The owner also provides free tools for sea foraging, tells you the specific times and information for sea foraging, and the service is particularly thoughtful. The kitchen's dishes can be made with a spicy flavor. The room and price, compared to the surroundings, still have the highest cost performance
The super large floor-to-ceiling windows face the sea view directly, the view is really superb, and the hygiene environment is also very good
I regretted my first visit to Weizhou Island because I didn't do any research beforehand
After longing for Beihai Weizhou Island, I finally set foot on this land amidst great anticipation. The scenery here is indeed breathtaking, and due to the limited number of people allowed on the island, it feels particularly quiet. At night, the streets are almost empty, so quiet that it feels a bit eerie.
The trip was scheduled from May 1st to 5th. For transportation, I first traveled from Guangzhou South to Beihai, then took a ferry. I chose a hotel that offered free pier shuttle service (provided by the owner), which also had a swimming pool, quite distinctive.
On the island, you can choose to ride tuk-tuks, but we opted to rent electric bikes, which allowed us to roam freely (charged by the day). The weather was sunny, perfect for a morning swim in the hotel pool. I don't recommend going out at noon when the sun is too strong, unless you're visiting some attractions. It's better to go out again from 3 to 4 pm, very leisurely and comfortable.
We visited attractions like Crocodile Hill, Dripping Water Danping, Colorful Beach, Shell Beach, Shiluokou, and the Catholic Church. We also arranged a day at sea: taking the Da Fei to the yacht area, then boarding a yacht to experience some water activities. The sea trip was rather dull, and the water quality was just average. We only played with the glass-bottom boat and snorkeling. I honestly don't recommend going out to sea; it's enough to enjoy the island.
Here are some must-visit places:
- Shell Beach-Colorful Beach-Shiluokou, where watching the sunset at 5 or 6 pm is particularly beautiful, a must-experience.
- The coastline towards Nanwan, go there at 3 pm to check in, and by 4 pm it gets crowded, the scenery is absolutely stunning! (Be careful of the waves at night when driving; we got wet by a sudden wave).
- The Catholic Church is also a great place for photos and check-ins.
- Crocodile Hill, we parked at the entrance and took an electric cart up, walking would be tiring.
Regarding food, we went to Nanwan Seafood Market to buy our seafood and then had it processed at a restaurant, with processing fees ranging from 15 to 30 yuan. Some processing shops are quite a rip-off, so make sure to confirm the price in advance. We ended up having it processed at the guesthouse, and the owner was very nice.
In conclusion, I highly recommend visiting here, it's a quiet island. You can stroll leisurely, ride your beloved little electric donkey, and enjoy the summer breeze. It's just perfect.

- Cost: Free
- Address: Inside Beihai Wai Sha Seafood Island (at the end of Sichuan North Road)
1 It is recommended to go when the sun sets, the pink pier combined with the sunset can create a very beautiful atmosphere;
2 The moment the sunset touches the sea level will be very brief, so it is suggested to plan your pose and choose the photo spot in advance to capture it quickly and efficiently;
3 There will be a lot of people on site, if you don't want your photos to have a cluttered background, you might give up some of the larger scenes;
4 The attraction does not require an entrance fee, but you may need to queue up when it's crowded, so it is recommended to make an online reservation in advance;
5 The pier is near Beihai's famous old street, which has a nostalgic feel with its arcade buildings that are also very photogenic, so it's suggested to visit these two attractions together to save time running back and forth. The Underwater World is also nearby, and if you plan to visit, you can schedule these attractions on the same day;
6 The ultraviolet rays in Beihai during July and August are intense, so fairy ladies must remember to wear sunscreen;
7 There are cafes nearby where you can quietly watch the sea with your loved one or friends, hoping that the sea of Beihai can heal you

The Hungry Explorer s Kitchen Island Diary | Weizhou Island Travel Guide (may contain dissuasive content)
Sharing some tips while also helping everyone avoid potential disappointments. It's not that Weizhou Island is not nice, it's just not as great as described online 😅
Transportation✈️🚢
Flights from Hangzhou to Beihai are scarce and at inconvenient times, so I flew to Nanning, played for a day, then took the high-speed train to Beihai to catch a ferry to the island. Not flying directly to Beihai makes the journey more complicated...
The island is quite small, mainly e-scooters➕tourist buses. It's cost-effective to charter a tourist bus when in a group.
Accommodation🏠
Booked a homestay near the Colorful Beach for the sunrise, everything else was ok, but the breakfast was too perfunctory... It's been a long time since I've had such a sloppy breakfast (if you don't mind, you can PM me to ask).
Food🍽️
🔶Nanning
🔸Gui Xiaochu: Tastes good👍
🔷Weizhou Island (for the convenience of the elders, we dined near the scenic spots)
🔹Jiefu·Vietnamese Beef Pho: Can't believe this was my favorite meal! Nice environment, delicious💯
🔹Jingye Restaurant: Scenic spot, ‼️you can't see the sunset here, only the afterglow🫠Average dishes, but the environment wins.
🔹starry Starry Coast: Seaside scenic spot, average taste, located at Shiluokou Beach, where you can eat while watching the sunset, good for taking photos.
🔹Chicken Auntie·Coconut Chicken: Average coconut chicken, compared to the ones I've had before, I personally find it overpriced and in small portions.
🔹Daydream Fusion Restaurant: Passionfruit ribs are delicious (don't go to the coconut seller next to it towards the church direction, I bought a bad one, and when I found the seller within three minutes, he cursed and said I didn't buy it from him / 'See You Tomorrow' mango ice on the same street is okay🉑️)
🔹Homestay Lunch: The homestay bought seafood and processed it, which was the best seafood meal on the island🤤Banana chicken is delicious🐔
🔹Fruits: Jackfruit and bananas are delicious, there are also longan and starfruit trees near the homestay that you can pick and eat.
Itinerary📝
day1⃣️ Nanning
🟡Three Streets and Two Alleys
Similar to Wide and Narrow Alleys
🔵Night Cruise on Yong River
Suitable for accompanying elders, young people can skip it
day2⃣️ Weizhou Island
🟡Colorful Beach
The beach is small, the sunrise is nice, the rock walls are good for taking photos, ⚠️be careful
🔵Nanwan Street
Coastal, with bars, shops, and trendy restaurants, some shops are quite interesting, worth a stroll after dinner, but the road is narrow and prone to traffic jams, hard to get a tourist bus if it's too late😤
day3⃣️Weizhou Island
🟡Crocodile Mountain
A small hike, not tiring, the seaside is picturesque, clean, and clear.
🔵Dishui Danping
Didn't go because of the rain
🟡Shiluokou Beach
The sand is white, good for watching the sunset! Many water activities available.
day4⃣️Weizhou Island
🟡Catholic Church
The church and its surroundings are blocked off at every intersection to collect tourist bus fees, which is really unsightly❗️There's a small path you can navigate on your own, if you can't find it, you can pay a local 10 yuan to guide you.
Ordinary church➕back garden. Next to it is a street with restaurants, shops, and coffee shops.
🔵Shell Beach
Less crowded, feels okay! Really found some beautiful shells🐚
day5⃣️
After four days on the island, because of 🪖drills... tired, lay like a corpse for a day, got the return ticket in the afternoon and went back to Beihai.
But I really have to say, there's too much trash on the island🫣
Is the domestic sea a day in the life of an islander in Weizhou?
Weizhou Island, the largest volcanic island in China, is located in the Beibu Gulf north of Beihai City, Guangxi. The beautiful natural scenery, rich marine life and unique volcanic landforms here constitute a colorful island world🎉. I just came back from Weizhou Island with my sisters. After I came back, I stayed up late and wrote this travel guide to clear mines for my sisters in advance. I hope it can help more sisters!
🚗Transportation: ✈Land in Nanning, take the high-speed rail from Nanning 🚄 to Beihai, Beihai Pier ⛵ take a boat to the island
(⚠High-speed rail tickets, boat tickets, and Weizhou Island tickets must be purchased in advance. Round-trip boat tickets are 300/person, tickets to the island are 98/person for adults, and ¥50/person for children)
🛵Transportation & accommodation on the island
✅The transportation on the island is inconvenient. It is cost-effective to rent a small electric donkey🛵, basically ¥60/day, rent in a B&B🉑
✅There are basically no star-rated hotels on the island, mainly B&Bs, so you need to book a room in advance

🔖Travel tips
1. When choosing seafood, remember to poke a small hole at the bottom of the bag to ensure that the water is really weighed🙄
2. Renting a small tram on Beihai or Weizhou Island and riding around the island is the best way to feel the romance of the sea breeze.
3. Sisters with poor physical strength are not recommended to go to Crocodile Mountain Park because it takes 1.5 hours to climb the mountain. I was so tired that I almost had a fight😤
The most practical guide to Weizhou Island in Beihai during winter
|||Beihai, Guangxi trip for five days and four nights
Visiting Guangxi in January is the most cost-effective.
I set out from Guiyang, Guizhou, first to Nanning for a day, then to Beihai
Transportation: (one-way)
Guiyang-Nanning 265RMB/person two and a half hours
Nanning-Beihai 45RMB/person one hour (make sure to go to Nanning East or Nanning Station, not Nanning North because the North station is very far from the city center)
Beihai-Weizhou Island 150RMB/person an hour and a half (Beihai International Passenger Port)
Accommodation:
The first day near Chaoyang Square in Nanning, around 200RMB, very comfortable, this area is central and convenient for transportation.
The second day near Beihai Silver Beach; Old Street; Overseas Chinese Town hotels around 200RMB, these three spots have plenty of things to do and eat, quite convenient.
The third and fourth days staying at the Oriental Hotel on Weizhou Island 130RMB/night, run by someone from Guizhou, very homely, delicious food, and very close to Shell Beach, where you can watch the sunrise. Off-season homestays on the island are very cheap, average prices are around one to two hundred, unless you stay in a luxury type.
Food: Nanning: Shu Ji old friend noodles; sweet potato small glutinous rice balls; Xian Tian Ge; sugar water; snail noodles
Beihai: Various seafood, and the local specialty 'ye' (I'm not sure if this is the correct pronunciation), fruits (starfruit, jackfruit, banana, sand sugar orange...). On Weizhou Island, I think seafood is more cost-effective and cheaper than other foods.
Entertainment:
Nanning: Free places include Sanjie Liangxiang; Changyou Pavilion; Guangxi Museum; Zhongshan Road; Mandarin Duck Building; Yangmei Ancient Town; Guangxi University. Paid attractions include Diwang Yunding Sightseeing (starting at 58 yuan); Nanning Garden Expo Park (45 yuan) Inside Beihai city: Beihai Old Street; Silver Beach; Beibu Gulf Square; Overseas Chinese Town Style Street; Pudu Temple all free, paid attractions include Undersea World 148 yuan, Ocean World 138 yuan, Jinhaiwan Mangrove 90 yuan.
Weizhou Island: Island entry ticket 98 yuan, one ticket to play all the attractions on the island, must-visit spots include Nanwan Pier, Colorful Beach, Shell Beach, Crocodile Mountain Park, Mu Cliff, Dripping Water Dan Screen, Catholic Church (Mu Cliff is currently not open, depends on luck to enter). Attractions are scattered, but the island is not big, rent a small electric car to roam around, electric car rental off-season 30 a day peak season 60 a day, two days on the island is enough to play clearly, no need to strategize which attraction to visit on which day, just look at the map and go wherever you want with the electric car, nothing is far.
Return trip just follow the same way back, don't take away a single cloud~
A hundred people have a hundred and one opinions about Weizhou Island, but my experience was still very good
