A place where I could just sit and stare at the artificial pond flowing in the garden that matched the accommodation that was renovated from a Hanok. Somunnanjibu, a small town in Jeollabuk-do Somnanjibu is located on a smaller road off the country road in Jeollabuk-do. We arrived before opening time so we had plenty of time, but by 12 o'clock it was bustling with customers. We ordered snail doenjang jjigae. There are so many side dishes that come with the jjigae (lol) You can have more than one serving of rice except for the fish lol The jjigae also had a gentler taste, closer to Japanese miso than the doenjang jjigae you get in Seoul. The window seats are especially charming, but unfortunately they were already taken by some mothers even though we arrived early! Nevertheless, we were satisfied with the seats in front of the garden with the lovely European flowers. The gallery opens early, making it a great starting point for a travel itinerary. I found out about it when I visited Ohsungje's Lonely Tree! There was even a sign indicating it as part of the BTS course. It's located on the way to Ohs Gallery, and if you're using the gallery, it's a great spot to visit. We arrived before the gallery opened and parked on the side of the road. 🍃 Ohsungje's Lonely Tree 📍 405 Daheung-ri, Soyang-myeon, Wanju-gun 🚘 Roadside parking available 7️⃣ Wibongsanseong Fortress Wibongsanseong Fortress is one of the BTS travel courses in Wanju. It's a spot where many people take pictures of the fortress gate, but even though it's not very high, it was still scary to climb up! After passing by Dube Cafe and Awon, it's a great spot to visit. 🍃 Wibongsanseong Fortress 📍 7 Daheung-ri, Soyang-myeon, Wanju-gun 8️⃣ Songgwangsa Temple In the summer, Songgwangsa Temple is covered with a huge lotus flower garden in the front yard. We visited a little late, so we saw more lotus leaves than flowers, but the vast expanse of lotus flowers was still beautiful! It's located on the way to the courses mentioned above, making it a great spot to stop by on your way there or back. This is a healthy shabu-shabu restaurant that my family loves. I happened to see this landmark while going to another destination and was curious, so I went there. It was the first Korean-style cathedral in Korea, so it was interesting, and the traces of time were clearly visible, which was impressive. The unique hanok atmosphere of Soyang Gotaek becomes even more charming and beautiful on rainy days with the fog☔️ I fell in love with the quiet and beautiful scenery of Awon Gotaek and it was nice even when it rained. Sometimes, the umbrella becomes a great photo prop. It's a great place to quietly heal! You can also stay at a hanok stay, but it won't be easy to make a reservation. I think you can feel the charm of the place just by visiting the gallery and Awon Gotaek.
