Getting There - Wahiba Sands is about a 2hr drive from Muscat the capital. Attractions - Stepping into the Wahiba Sands felt like entering another world. The vast expanse of undulating dunes, stretching as far as the eye could see, was truly awe-inspiring. The silence was profound, broken only by the whisper of the wind. Exploring the desert landscape and experiencing the simple beauty of this natural wonder was an unforgettable and deeply peaceful experience. If you plan on staying for the night, it's important to choose a camp that suits your needs. There are many camps available and some are not in the dunes. Accommodation: We stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Muscat Qurum. A very friendly team provides excellent service here and they have a pool on the top floor. Food & Restaurants - We visited a bedouin camp in Wahiba Sands for a traditional lunch. The food was delicious and fresh cooked and served by the locals. #wahibasands #sharqiyasands #desert #oman

#thingstodo How could you rate less than 5 stars? This place is an experience of a lifetime. Breathtaking views from the Omani desert with all the facilities of a hotel. You can go stargazing with an amazing astronomer and his telescope, watch the sunset from up the dunes and relax by the pool. Just incredible. Also, kudos to the restaurant crew for being so kind at all times. The food was also delicious - both dinner and breakfast. Plenty of vegetarian options too! Thanks so much to all the staff for the great hospitality and unique experience. Loved every bit of our family experience at 1000 nights camp.. The journey to camp is majestic through the desert and probably it is the last camp far into the desert and therefore the surrounding is natural and raw.. loved it.. The tents are very well appointed. Kids play area is also good. Loved the food especially the Non-Veg variety and hospitality especially Nilesh and Sagar took good care of our requirements. Would highly recommend this stay and experience
