Everyone is aware of these red torii gates, it's a special iconic design here in Ukiha Inari Shrine located at 1513-9 Ukihanmachi Nagrekawa, Ukiha in Japan where the only way to access this Shrine via walking is via a long steps through this torii gates.
This may not be one of the many popular place with people therefore making this a photogenic spot on top of a hill down to the valley, but if you are someone who doesn't really like to climb you are also able to drive up by car. Most people come to this Shrine to hope and pray for a prosperous business, good health, and scholarship.
The Thousand Torii Gates of Ukiha City, a must-visit spot.
Fukuoka also has a very famous group of thousand torii gates, which has become a popular check-in spot in recent years. It is the 'Ukiha Inari Shrine' located in Ukiha City. From the highest point of the torii gates, you can look down and enjoy the panoramic view of Ukiha City against the backdrop of blue skies and white clouds. The air on the mountain is very fresh with no pollution at all. The most beautiful times to visit are during the autumn foliage season or the spring cherry blossom season. The shrine was founded in 1957, and the entire row of torii gates consists of about 300 stone steps, with a total of 91 torii gates standing on the mountain. The thousand torii gates stretch from the top of the mountain to the bottom, attracting many tourists who come to take photos. The torii gates extend all the way to the foot of the mountain, connecting to Route 52, seemingly linking nature with the city.
Tsuzura Terraced Rice Fields in Ukiha City, One of Japan's Top 100 Terraced Rice Fields
The Tsuzura Terraced Rice Fields in Ukiha City are among Japan's Top 100 Terraced Rice Fields. These historic terraces are said to have been developed around 400 years ago. Local residents cultivated approximately 300 layers of terraces on about seven hectares of land in the river valley. The stone walls, built with stones from the mountains, firmly support these extensive terraces. Besides the terraces, the 500,000 red spider lilies that bloom in autumn are also quite famous. The 'Ukiha City Terraced Rice Fields Spider Lily Tour & Basara Festival' (a traditional event where residents drive around various settlements and share local mountain produce) attracts many visitors every year.

A must-visit on your Ukiha trip!
We visited this popular café.
We were torn between the menu options...
It was a tough choice between the Gateau Chocolat and the Cheesecake Tart🍽
I was also curious about the seasonal sweets, so I chose the Rare Cheesecake Tart🧀
It had a slightly bitter caramel and sweet potato🍠
It was delicious with a mature taste✨
For drinks, it was a choice between milk tea and herbal tea🤍
Hot or cold... In the end, I chose herbal tea for its color🪴
Thank you for the meal🫧
Saiko-ji Serenity: Meditative Memories Await
#2024wish
Nestled in Gokushomachi, Hakata Ward, Fukuoka, Saiko-ji is a serene haven, a century-old Buddhist temple radiating tranquility. Intricate wooden carvings adorn its ancient structure, a testament to its rich history. During my unforgettable trip, I discovered a monthly gift – free meditation sessions that welcomed both locals and wanderers. The air carried whispers of ancient prayers as we found solace in the temple's quiet embrace. The soft glow of lanterns illuminated the path to self-discovery. In those moments of stillness, the world melted away. Now, in 2024, memories beckon, and I yearn to revisit Saiko-ji, where time stands still, and the soul finds its sanctuary. In 2024, I wish to go there again.
