SUNTOKU CAFE is a cafe where you can enjoy lunch, sweets, and alcohol along with home-roasted coffee. Founded in 1880 [Unagi Sanshotei] Kurikara is a grilled eel cut into strips and wrapped around a skewer. It has a plump texture and a refreshing taste that is different from kabayaki♪ I came here for the kurikara, but the kabayaki broiled in the unadon was also delicious😋 It was fragrant, yet warm and soft. If you want to explore Amami Oshima comfortably, we recommend renting a car! There are many rental car companies, but Amami Rent-A-Car stands out for being particularly cheap. I was worried that the price was too reasonable and that the car's performance, cleanliness, and insurance coverage would be low, but I had no problems and enjoyed a comfortable drive. The reason the price is so reasonable is probably because they have the largest number of cars on Amami Oshima. It's about a 3-minute walk from the airport, but they also provide a shuttle service.
