Location: Tongli ancient town in Jiangsu province. Getting there: A one hour drive from Suzhou or Shanghai. Tongli costs about 130 RMB entrance fee. It is worth the money. During this trip to Suzhou, we decided to stay in the ancient town of Tongli for two nights because we wanted the opportunity to stroll around the town at night and early morning without rushing. And we found it to be the right decision. The town is beautiful at all times, especially after six in the evening when most tourists have left. The shops and bridges start to light up, and there are beautiful photo spots everywhere. The town is peaceful, with delicious local restaurants scattered all around.
