Visit Lod Kong Lo Cave, Khammouane Province, Lao PDR.
#Laos travel destinations, nature and adventure lovers must not miss. Today, I would like to recommend another beautiful and natural place in Khammouane Province, which is still very complete. That is Kong Lo Cave.
Kong Lo Cave is one of the most impressive natural wonders of Khammouane Province. This cave is located between Hin Boun and Nakai. The pure water of Hin Boun River flows through the limestone all year round and eventually flows into the Mekong River. This cave is a nearly 7.5 km long tunnel, about 30 meters wide and 20-100 meters high. The length of the river fills the entire width of the walkway, except for the large white sand beach located about halfway through the cave. You can take a boat through the cave. The dry season is the best time to visit this place because you can get off the boat, walk on the beach and enjoy the beauty of this wonderful cave.
Cave entrance fee 5,000 kip
Cave boat tour price If you are alone, the price is 110,000 kip. Life jackets are provided. Note: Each boat can only accommodate 3 people.
Come visit Khammouane Province. Don't forget to stop by this Lod Cave.

It was a great experience taking a boat going through the inside of Kong Lor lime Stone Mountain, the limestone inside the Kong Lor Cave is really amazing, untouched and in many kind of shapes too, really beautiful and attractive.

Take a Walk in Thakhek🚶🏻
Thakhek is the main town of Khammouane province, Laos and means “visitors’ landing”. Take a short walk out from Thakhek’s tiny town square and you’ll find crumbling French villas, overgrown gardens, and an almost haunted atmosphere pervading the too-wide streets. Furthermore, looking through the Mekong river view, you can see the view of Nakhon Phanom, Thailand on the opposite bank.

Kong Lor Cave, Laos - One of Southeast Asia's Geological Wonders
Tham Kong Lo or Kong Lor Cave is a karst limestone cave in Phu Hin Bun National Park, in Khammouane Province, Laos. It is located roughly 130 km north of Thakhek, on the Nam Hin Bun River, which flows into the cave. The karst formation is dramatic and the cave has been cited as a "one of Southeast Asia's geological wonders".
The cave is deep (lasting about 7 km) and wide and as high as 300 feet in parts. The locals in recent years have set up vendors at the location to provide to tourists. Inside the cave is a pool which glows a bright emerald colour which locals hold as sacred, believing it to reflect the skin of the Hindi god Indra

The must do Thakhek trip
Thakhek Loop is an unforgettable off-the-beaten-path excursion if you're looking for adventure and authenticity. Begin the Loop in Thakhek (Tha Khaek) and bike around the Phou Hin Poun National Bio Diversity Conservation Area in a counter-clockwise route.
Include stops at a variety of caves and other items of interest along the journey. We strongly suggest taking an 80-kilometer roundtrip detour to Konglor Cave, a fantastic 7.5-kilometer subterranean river adventure accessible by longtail speedboat. The local village and scenery are worth the journey in and of themselves.

🌲 Thafalang Wang Si Kram offers a natural atmosphere surrounded by mountains. It takes just over an hour to cross from Nakhon Phanom. You can either stay overnight or make a day trip.

A French-style town on the Mekong River.
The Mekong River is the mother river of Laos, nurturing the Lao people! When traveling in southern Laos, you can witness the sunrise and sunset over the Mekong River every day. 🏡
This is a nice little town with many old French buildings and a night market. If you're heading south, it's a good place to stay for a night. The riverside is also a great place to stroll and have dinner in the evening. 💖
The French killed many people to occupy this place, and the buildings in the last two pictures commemorate this. 😰
Thakhek Loop: An Adventurous Backpacking Journey in Laos
#backpacking
For adventurous backpackers, the Thakhek Loop in Laos offers a thrilling #backpacking experience. This 450-kilometer motorbike loop through the central part of the country showcases some of Laos’ most breathtaking landscapes. Travelers embark on a journey through remote villages, karst mountains, lush jungles, and hidden caves. The highlight of the loop is the massive Kong Lor Cave, which you can explore by boat. Along the way, you’ll find waterfalls, temples, and local guesthouses offering a chance to experience authentic Laotian hospitality. The journey is perfect for those seeking off-the-beaten-path adventures, providing a true sense of exploration and connection with nature.
My husband says it's a romantic place: Tak.
When it comes to tranquility and comfort, Luang Prabang is definitely the center of attention in Southeast Asia! 👑
Westerners love it here because of its originality - it's as simple as a mountain spring, clean enough to intoxicate people, and there's a tranquility that goes to the bone, coupled with picturesque scenery, it's absolutely amazing! 🖼️
Walking on the stone road of Luang Prabang, you can meet backpackers at the corner, all of whom are fascinated by the more than 30 temples here, full of mystery! 🏯
There is no noise in the city, only whispers and ancient buildings quietly telling stories, embraced by the lush nature. 🌳
Tak is like a hermit in the deep mountains, far away from the hustle and bustle, that kind of romantic leisure, is simply a paradise for the petty bourgeoisie! 💖 I don't want to leave when I come! Tak·Kampong Province

Worshiping Buddha on the banks of the Mekong River
Wat Phra That Si Kot Tabong, Tha Khaek, is located on the banks of the Mekong River, opposite Nakhon Phanom Province, approximately 6 kilometers from Tha Khaek town. It is an ancient temple with a Phra That inside. Locals believe that it was built during the reign of King Nanda Saen of Sri Kot Burapha. It was later renovated for the first time during the reign of King Chai Setthathirat. Inside the temple is a large Buddha statue, built by Chao Anuwong, for people to pay homage and ask for blessings, fortune, work, and finances.
Why?....I fell in love with Laos🥰
#TravelLaos
This year, I have been to Laos twice. In the middle of the year, I went to Pakse and Paksong and got to play Zip LINE at Tad Fane Waterfall.
After that, my father came back and started to fall in love with the complete nature and kindness of the people. They were so kind that you don't have to worry about being tricked. When I drove and got a flat tire, they helped me change the tire. And that was the accumulation of good impressions that made me have to go back again.
This time, we changed to visit Ta Khaek, Kham Muon, Central Laos. Nature and people still create the same impression.
Laos, whether it's the rainy season or the beginning of the winter, the atmosphere is different.
If you come, don't forget to visit the Nang Aen here. It is very beautiful and different from other places.

2 impressive Naga statues in Thakhek
Thakhek is the charm little town bordered with Nakhon Phanom of Thailand along the legend Mekong River. When in Thakhek, no way you can miss the 2 Naga Statues on the riverside. The Naga on Thai side across the river has 7 heads but this one looks like 1 head. I visited in early August and it rained very often. The tails of the statues both sides of the staircases are under the river. Not sure if we can see the full tails in other seasons or they designed that way. Near there is the night market called Center Point. Bus to Nakhon Phanom runs 4 times a day: about 9am, 11am, 2pm and 4pm and costs about 70 Thai Baht. Thai and Lao citizens can cross by boat but others must go by road. The bus takes more than 2 hours as they check longer when going into Thailand. The trip back to Thakhek takes about 90 minutes.

A charming little town next to Thailand
Thakhek is a little charming town in Khammouane Province, Laos. The night market is called “Center Point Thakhek” which is on the riverside of Mekong River. This place is a few minutes walk from the river port where Thai and Lao citizens can travel between the 2 countries. People with other nationalities must cross by road over the 3rd Friendship Bridge. The city on the Thai side is Nakhon Phanom where you can take the Thai-Lao international bus 4 times a day (9, 11:30, 14:00 and 16:30) for 70 Baht + 5 Baht waiting time at Immigration. The distance is about 30km and takes you about 90 minutes including the time at Immigrations. The night market has many kinds of foods you can think of such as somtum, grilled meat, rice with foods on top 25,000 Kip, salad 18,000 Kip, hotpot, eggs with baby duck inside 7,000 Kip, fruit shakes 15,000 to 30,000 Kip, sweet soup, milk tea 10,000 Kip, soy milk, etc. There’s a stage with live bands and tables for foods and drinks. You can eat there or buy things from stalls and eat at other 2 zones. Not a large night market but they have basic stuff such as kid zone and clothes stalls too. Quite clean and new compared with Luang Prabang Night Market.

Wat Phathat Si Khottabong (Wat Phathat Si Khottabong)⛩
📍Address - Thakhek, Khammouane Province, Lao PDR
That Sikhottabong is located in Wat That Sikhottabong, on the Mekong River in Laos. It is a sacred pagoda where you can ask for anything you want, especially lost things. Most Lao people think that they will get them back, but love is an exception. It is said that Phraya Sikhottabong was disappointed in love and died because of this.
In addition, there is a Buddha statue in the ordination hall for Buddhists and tourists to worship. Inside the ordination hall, there are period images that indicate the prosperity of the Lan Xang era, including the use of hands to rub the bell to make a loud sound throughout the chapel of Wat That Sikhottabong. In front of the door of Wat That Sikhottabong, there are Lao houses on stilts from different regions set up for tourists to visit and see the way of life of Lao people in different regions. How are the houses built?
💰To visit, there is a 5,000 kip fee per person.
✋Prohibitions: Women must wear a sarong to enter the temple. Pants are not allowed.
