2025 Tamsui Fisherman'S Wharf Travel Guide: Must-see attractions, popular food, hotels, transportation routes (updated in March)

Fisherman’s Wharf, formerly known as Tamsui Second Fishing Port, is located at the right bank of the river mouth of Tamsui River and is well known for its sunset. However, luck is not with me when i visited in Oct 2024, it was a hazy day and missed the sunset. Besides enjoying sunset at the Fisherman’s Wharf, visitors can also visit the not-to-be-missed Lover’s Bridge, enjoy the beautiful fishing port along the wooden boardwalk and ascend Lover's Tower to enjoy Tamsui scenery. #旅行酷体验 #景点拍照指南 #旅行灵感 #浪漫的事

Tamsui is located in the northwest of Taipei, surrounded by mountains and rivers. It features the Hongmao Castle, which is over 300 years old and has been recognized as a first-class historical site in Taiwan. The port's atmosphere is beautiful, especially in the evening when you can enjoy a lovely breeze. You can reach Tamsui by taking the MRT to Tamsui Station, then walking through a bustling market and taking a short bus ride to the port. Along the way, there are many charming spots to explore, including a beautiful church perfect for photos. This place is highly recommended for its easy and convenient access. Additionally, tourists can stroll through the town, which is filled with local shops, old buildings, and houses. The port is also an ideal spot to watch the stunning sunset, making it a truly romantic destination. Location: Zhongshan Rd., Tamsui Dist., New Taipei City How to get there: Take the Taiwan High-Speed Rail (THSR) or regular train (TRA) to Taipei Station, then transfer to the MRT and get off at Tamsui Station. Watching Fireworks in New Year is a must! Taiwan Fisherman Wharf was the longest fireworks in Taiwan! 🎇 the fireworks start from 20.23 Getting There: 🚗 You can see the fireworks along the river from tamsui-fisherman wharf. You can take red line MRT and get off at Tamsui. Not only does it have a long history, but it also has beautiful natural scenery. You can take a stroll along the river and enjoy the pleasant sea breeze or sample the famous local agi and fish balls. The sunset in Tamsui is also very famous, watching the sun slowly sink into the sea level is a romantic moment, perfect for couples or families to enjoy together! 🗓️ Itinerary: If you plan to take a day trip, you can visit Tamsui Old Street in the morning for a slow snack, then visit Red Hair City to learn about the local history. #triptravelchina If you are visiting Taipei and want to change the atmosphere to outside the city near Taipei, I recommend this place, Tamsui Fisherman's Wharf. For Tamsui city, you can come here for a 1-day trip. I recommend coming in the afternoon until the sun sets. The atmosphere in the evening is very good. This is a fisherman's pier, a bit far from Tamsui Station. You can take an Uber or taxi to get there. The atmosphere is very chill, the wind is very cool, and the view is very good. As for the area near MRT Tamsui, there is a sunset viewpoint by the sea and an old street selling food and various things for you to walk around before returning to Thailand. #Overseas travel 🩵 When I travel, I like to walk around and see the surrounding sceneryㅎㅎ 🩵 You can ride a bike or take a taxi from Danshui Station to Hongmaoqing, but I took pictures of the road while walking around every nook and cranny:) 🩵 It was a bit difficult because it was pouring rain, but if it's a clear day, I recommend visiting the heritage buildings such as Tada Eikichi's Residence, Jinri University, and Hongmaoqing! 🩵 Please note that the Xiaobai Palace is still under construction and entry is prohibited.

Taiwan is so dear to my heart. I love their night markets, places and people. On my second trip March of 2024, I visited Tamsui Fisherman’s Wharf. I took a train and bus and it was a breeze commuting to this place. Strolling while sipping a cup of coffee and enjoying the view is the best thing to do here. There are also a lot of restaurants around the area in case you get hungry from walking or sitting. There are so many things to explore around this place and I recommend you spend the whole afternoon here. The sunset was magnificent, but the evening view is more magical. #Tamsui
